Ruffian Training (Ex): At 1st level, a rogue gains Power Attack as a bonus feat, even if she doesn't meet the prerequisites, and she gains proficiency in medium armor. If the rogue has the evasion class feature, it also functions while wearing medium armor. All rogue class features that use the rogue's Dexterity modifier instead use her Strength modifier. In addition, starting at 3rd level, whenever she attempts a combat maneuver against an opponent that would be subject to her sneak attack, she gains a +1 bonus on the combat maneuver check. This bonus increases to +2 at level 11, and +3 at level 19. If a rogue archetype trades away your proficiency with light armor, you also lose your proficiency with medium armor. This ability replaces finesse training.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've just started running Horizons of the Vast for my group, and we've recently come into conflict over the meaning over part of the hexploration rules. Specifically, how exploring thoroughly while performing recon works.

Quote:

You carefully explore and map a single hex, gaining as much information as you can. This activity requires a number of hexploration activities equal to the hex in which you’re performing recon, and you choose whether to be more careful or more thorough. If you choose to be more careful, the encounter DC (see Random Encounters below) increases by 2; if you choose to be more thorough, it decreases by 2.

Upon successfully performing recon in a hex, you discover all the hex’s major features that don’t require a check (at the GM’s discretion), and you learn the biome of each hex adjacent to that hex. In addition, if you chose to be more thorough, you find the fastest way through the terrain; reduce the number of activities required to travel in or through that hex by 1 (to a minimum of 1). This reduction can apply only once per hex.

I'm of the opinion that the underlined bit means that the activity cost reduction only ever applies once. However, my players think that it means you get the benefit every time you travel through the hex, and that the underlined but just means you can't explore thoroughly multiple times to increase the activity cost reduction.

Which of us is right?

The Early Explorer legacy background makes you Trained in Pathfinder Society Lore. The Pathfinder Agent Dedication feat makes you trained in Pathfinder Lore, or expert if you were already trained. If a character with the Early Explorer background took Pathfinder Agent Dedication, would they become expert in Pathfinder/Pathfinder Society Lore? Or would they be trained in two redundant lore skills?

I'm planning on making a Mad Dog Barbarian for PFS, and while it won't be an issue for a while, I just remembered that I won't normally be able to use Handle Animal while raging, since it's Charisma based. So other than Moment of Clarity, is there any way to use Handle Animal while raging?

So the Skald gains the Versatile Performance ability much like the Bard, with Perform (Percussion) being used in place of Intimidate (and Handle Animal). The Belkzen War Drummer archetype, from Advanced Class Origins, has the Fearsome Mien ability, which gives a 1/2 level bonus to Intimidate (and Bluff) checks. Does Fearsome Mien apply when making Intimidate checks with Perform (Percussion)?
