![]() Say a Level one bard takes a level in sorcerer. Does that mean the bard learns 4 more cantrips and 2 more level 1 spells? Can she still cast spells from the bard spell list? How many spells a day can she use?
EDIT:In addition, if the bard/sorcerer goes back to being a bard for the rest of her advancement, will she continue to accumulate bloodline powers? ![]()
![]() Ah! I see, the evolution only does damage to creatures on the turn it grapples, but not on successive checks... Whereas the feats/special attacks deal damage every round... Which makes me wonder, can I even give my Eidolon the Final Embrace? The evolution doesn't explicitly say it grants the special attack, though it seems to be implied it does... ![]()
![]() "A successful hold does not deal any extra damage unless the creature also has the constrict special attack. If the creature does not constrict, each successful grapple check it makes during successive rounds automatically deals the damage indicated for the attack that established the hold. Otherwise, it deals constriction damage as well" Maybe it's worded weird, but it says that it deals "constriction damage as well" ![]()
![]() Well... That is kinda tricky, because at that point the Eidolon has two sources of that ability... It does sound a bit off, but flavorwise, it makes sense that whatever has this feat doesn't just forget how to do it, it becomes ingrained into its movements. Of course, this is why I came here... because technically, the feat gives its own requirements >>; ![]()
![]() The feat Final Embrace has a requisite of having the special attack "constrict". It also GRANTS the special attack "constrict". Does this mean that an Eidolon who has the Constrict evolution can take the feat, then when it evolves, lose the evolution but keep the feat active because it gives the Eidolon its own requisite? ![]()
![]() I would definitely like to include constrict, simply because that is something that will set my Eidolon apart from Bipeds, which are damage kings amongst Eidolons, what with extra reach and (highest?) STR amongst eidolon baseforms. Also, I just came across a neat little feat tree, the Final Embrace. I'm feeling giddy already just thinking about yelling that out near the end of a long, arduous battle :D ![]()
![]() The Universal rules from the Bestiary 2 say that Grab can affect creatures up to the size of the Grabber, but the Advanced Player's guide (eidolons) say that the Grab evolution can only Grab things up to a size smaller than the eidolon. Similarly, in the Universal rules, Grab and Constrict stack to deal damage for each during each successful grapple check, but it says nothing about that in the APG, specifically in the Grab evolution paragraph. Which is right? The APG, or the Universal rules? ![]()
![]() Yo there. I'm also building a serpentine Eidolon, and have had quite a bit of trouble figuring out just what I want to do with it. Something to think about when building is the "Combat Reflexes" feat, which allows an Eidolon to basicaly thwap away anything that comes anywhere near it outside it's turn, especially given the high dex that serpentines have. Though it's much better suited for a "trip monkey", if you're gonna go serpentine, you're not gonna be the most powerful thing on the field, so perhaps you should consider shifting from that role to one of an awesome support. With the shield buddy feat, reach, and trip/grab, you can sit next to your summoner or any other character, and basically neutralize any threat that would come near, either knocking it on its glutes, or preparing to eat it when your turn comes. Those free CMD checks get really awesome when you can grab anything even when it's not your turn! ![]()
![]() David, as for that, I imagine more as using the abdomen like a snake does, lunging out using the tail as an anchor to return to. HeraldKlak, though I do not need to decide the evolutions right away, the feats that an eidolon gets are set once they're chosen, so I'd definitely like to plan this out before I go all in. Rogar & EvilMinion, wouldn't that limit her to one shot a turn? Also, I'm more or less basing my Eidolon on Alipheese Fateburn, from Monster Girl Quest, so if anyone has any ideas as to how to make it more like her, I'm open to ideas. ![]()
![]() Rynjin, MGQ is Monster Girl Quest, and Alice's battle tactics are usually just raw strength, although she also has the ability to cast powerful magic (which I'll probably have to skip just to stay within evolution point bounds) Seranov, I hadn't thought about that, you're right! It seems a waste to not capitalize on the Serpentine base form's high Dex, but Alice would definitely just smack stuff out of the way. I'll keep that in mind while planning.. Rathyr yes that's right, I forgot about Evo surge! I've been staying away from the size mod spells because in my PFS experience there's been little use for it, but that spell is useful in any way I want. That'll work for when she needs to be huge :D ![]()
![]() If I am reading these sections right, an Eidolon with Reach and Push on a natural attack and the Combat Reflexes feat (with a high Dex Bonus) can use the additional attacks of opportunity on their attack to basically push any would be attackers away again and again, preventing damage to itself while hurting the attacker? ![]()
![]() So far, I've come up with:
and... as a last resort... I MIGHT swallow my fantasies of a beautiful Eidlon Lamia waifu... and go with the Devouring Lamia from hell build
![]()
![]() Ok, so... I'm a level 2 Summoner with a Serpentine base Eidolon. Originally, I thought about making it a nom-machine capable of consuming entire battlefields, keeping its health up with fast healing 3. However... the one thing that I absolutely want for this Eidolon is that it looks like a Lamia. Snake from the waist down. So for it to look like that, and try to swallow people whole... not a pretty sight. And therefore, I had to scrap my entire grapple-based swallow Eidolon build, and came here for some creative advice. What do you think, ladies and mentlegen? Can anyone point me in a neat direction to build my Eidolon in? >Edit:This is for Pathfinder Society, so the max level is 12 and magical items are no guarantee ![]()
![]() Ok, now I need to take this thread elsewhere as I go beat my head against the wall to figure out what I want to do with this Eidolon. It started off as a snake so it could eventually eat victims, but... ew. Dancing snake, huh? Doesn't sound like a bad idea... Maybe I'll pick up Ultimate Magic and toss in a few spells. Btw, if anybody has any creative ideas to help me make my Eidolon more like Alipheese Fateburn from MGQ, I'm all ears. (yes, terribly uncreative of me to base my eidolon on an already existing character, but that girl is just... something else) ![]()
![]() Argh... Rathyr I'm starting to see just how expensive Dex gets both in terms of cash and feats/evolutions...
...
![]()
![]() Intent? As in what I want to do with it? I visualize my eidolon reaching out with her bite, grabbing a victim and pulling them in, constricting them until she can eat them whole. (another thing, can she attempt to disarm a grappled opponent so they don't get to hurt her from inside and therefore have a higher chance of digesting them?) ![]()
![]() So I've been playing for a couple weeks now, and as I'm getting more acquainted with the game, I've come across the summoner class. Immediately I printed out a sheet for it and decided to go dual snake, using my Nagaji boon alongside a serpentine base form eidolon. HOWEVER. I want to make a Lamia-shaped eidolon, and as much fun as it might be to imagine her swallowing an enemy whole.... It doesn't make much sense to have a bite attack, or reach on said bite. So... Is it (arguably) allowed for me to switch the reach from bite to tail slap, and lose bite and climb for arms (that don't really do anything at this point)? |
