A rakishly handsome man with leopard-like ears and tail, wearing a set of stylized armor emblazoned with the NAE crest, bounds into the arena executing a double flip before landing gracefully and bowing to the audience. Grinning broadly he pulls a hip flask from his bandolier and takes a long swig before projecting his rumbling purr of a voice out to the crowd,
"How are you doing Citizens of the great North American Empire! Ranveer is ready to Crawl into your hearts once more, I would try your beds, but they say is forbidden, so I drink instead! Today I shall show you such deeds of derring do they will boggle your minds, stir your spirits, and pop a cocktail umbrella in them - for a touch of class! Today's menu features orc kebab, feisty goblins fritters, and a flambe of DJ! Only kidding about that last one, I hear DJ Vile Ent is a class act, and a rising star, don't set the hounds on me DJ, death I am unafraid of, but with it necessarily comes sobriety - the horror!"
Background:
Ranveer is the result of the unsanctioned summoning of a Rakshasa, and was only able to be born because his mother, Helena Ortenza, signed him over to an aristocratic DJ. Fortunately Baroness Kellerin, also known as DJ Inda Kisser, was charmed by the tiefling babe whose animalistic features seemed more adorable than demonic, and she treated him somewhere between a son and a pet eventually using her influence to enable him to participate as a Crawler rather than as a Monster. DJ Inda Kisser only had a brief stint as a top tier DJ running the Jacksonville games for little over sixth months before being replaced, mostly due to a lack of ruthlessness and showmanship, but she maintains strong relationships with several DJs and takes frequent stints running various lower tier boffo Crawls. Nowadays Ranveer and Baroness Kellerin are drinking buddies, watching hours of XCrawl together and cheerfully arguing about statistics and Crawl design.
Ranveer is acutely aware that his, mostly, free status hangs upon ensuring the fans and the aristocracy see him as a loveable rogue rather than a demonspawn. He washes any resentment away with copious amounts of alcohol and for the most part embraces his role as an over the top swashbuckling caricature. Even in the boff leagues his unique appearance and swaggering style earned him some endorsements, and after enough vodka even eating the occasional tin of catfood was not too disgusting.
Ranveer's major goals are to be loved by the crowd, and to get as many endorsements as possible, especially for alcoholic drinks. He is in love with Sarah Kellerin, the niece of his trainer, and hopes to one day earn enough status in the Crawl to marry her. Baroness Kellerin has suggested he might one day become a DJ, and the idea is growing on him the more he considers it.
Unbeknownst to Ranveer his Father the Rakshasa Kaliman has long been involved with Baroness Kellerin romantically when she was younger, backing her in taking control of her house over several better placed rivals, and now providing her with rare monsters which she generally distributes to upper league DJs in exchange for favours and access.
Baroness Kellerin keen to be as involved in XCrawl as possible is now acting as Ranveer's Agent, a role that she is well suited for with her many contacts and knowledge of XCrawl.
