Liberty's Edge

Yeah, I got the other boon. But the point was how to deal with what I thought was an unfair situation at the table. It has been handled, and there was a dialogue between all of us that resulted in some tension between myself and the aforementioned player. I probably will no longer be returning to that particular site for future PFS games, and make the 4 hour round trip drive to the next closest venue once a month or so instead of weekly. The site does have a monthly game that I will more than likely attend as I can sit at a separate table from my "nemesis." I have learned that this weekly PFS game is really just a game for the chosen people who are all friends outside the PFS, and not really welcoming to new players. Oh well.

Liberty's Edge

I always thought that the opponent needed to be grappled so I never calculate it in, and then they're all you hit it with two claws so you get a rake. So I add the damage in, but I often times find myself outnumbered in discussions like that. The next nearest Society games are over 2 hours away, so I don't ruffling feathers, but I feel like the amount of time I put in researching these things are wasted. Thanks to this forum interaction I will have more substance to stand behind my arguments. Thank you all so very much!

Liberty's Edge

Thanks for that, I have a big cat (White Tiger), so her full attack is 2 claws and bite (and if she hits, rake)? But does she get penalties for attacking with her claws at the same time, and her bite? So neither her bite or claw takes the -5 for secondary? I play in a group where there is another person with an animal companion, and it looked like she was not doing it right. We had a discussion about my attack bonus, and I thought I was doing it right but her boyfriend said my claws were secondary and got a -5. The DM, while a great guy and good DM, was unsure and didn't want to take the time at the moment, and I wanted to present it to the group before our next session. I am new to the group, they have been established for a while, and I am constantly having my sheet taken to look for mistakes. Of which, I may add, there haven't been any, only disagreement on my animal companion. Oh, I'm a lvl 6 Hunter btw. I thought building a hunter with a flanking animal would be neat in combat situations, and they always get on me about not having point blank/precise shot. But my build as I see it is a force to be reckoned with. Just trying to make sure i'm doing it legally.

Liberty's Edge

Thanks again for all of your help. I have been trying to figure my animals total attack bonus out and I can't find it. Does she get the normal Two-Weapon Fighting penalties? And how do I determine which of her attacks is primary or secondary, and is there an associated penalty with those as well? I surfed through the Druid's Log and can't find my answer which means I probably missed it, or it should be obvious to me lol!

Flutter, thank you so much for your time and effort into this amazing link! One question, just so when I sit at a table with people who are already leery of my character, all of this is legal in the PFS correct? Provided I have the correct resources, this is how I will build my animal companion from here on out? Oh, one more question; my big cat gets large at 7, can she still use pounce and grab if I cast reduce animal on her? Thanks again for this!

The biggest concern that I have here is that this is entirely unneccessary. Soverereign Court should have gotten the credit for acquiring blackmail material without having to mess with your faction goal.

It's time to contact your VC. Do you know who it is?

Hmm

Thank you very much, I have contacted my VC. My biggest concern is ruffling feathers, but right is right.

Liberty's Edge

Thank you for all of your responses. Maybe it wasn't a boon he received but something from his faction card about blackmail, and there was no vote it was one guy saying we are giving it to this person, and me saying no we should give it to the Liberty's edge. No vote at all, which I would be totally fine with being outvoted, and I was stealthing to the location. I am a fair player, and if it would have been voted on I wouldn't have this problem. It was just frustrating. The rogue wasn't even the one who was deciding who to give it too. Sounds like I need a talk with my GM. Thanks again guys!

Liberty's Edge

Here's a question to all you guys out there. So in a previous mission we were tasked with finding documents that could have been damning to a certain Venture Cpt. My character is Liberty's Edge and another character is Silver Crusade (I think). During the course of the mission my character made it to the statue and recovered the item in question, I placed it in my pack before returning to the action, the rogue in the party then made his way over to me and took the package out of my pack. No roll to see me place the package in my pack or anything like that. He used out of game knowledge to know that I had the package, and then I wasn't allowed to tell him no he can't take it from me. The rest of the party was across the room dealing with threats. At the end of the adventure we were approached by the Venture Captain, and I would have liked to have handed over the documents gaining a boon in the process, but the Silver Crusader stated no that wouldn't be possible. He told the table he was giving it to the proper people exposing the Captain's past, and gaining a boon in the process. How do I deal with that at a table? The guy basically took control of the situation without consulting anybody. I was the only one opposed to the action. I wasn't planning on keeping the information from the group, but nobody else made a move to get the documents, and then it was just taken from me. Wasted action economy on my part. How do you guys settle disputes like that? I felt bullied into the situation. The player in question is a veteran to the PFS and I am rather green, but it seemed like out of game he influenced the table greatly.

I would like to be able to pay some of the cost if I fall, but as a Pathfinder I accept the fact that when I go on a mission there is a chance I don't return. It shouldn't be a mandatory option. I also, don't expect a person to pay me for the expendable, but would definitely accept the help should a player feel the need to compensate me for it. I play a Hunter who buys a scroll of BoL before an adventure, if the one I previously bought has been expended, and hand it to the appropriate caster with the expectation that they will use it on any character who falls. Greater good and all that.

Liberty's Edge

MY problem is that sometimes a second DM is called in to facilitate our numbers and he struggles at turning scenarios in. I have recently created a new 1st level character and because our store was only running 7-11 stuff I was playing pre-gens. I have played two games over the last 2 months where I used the new character and neither scenario has been entered.

Liberty's Edge

I agree that it could be inferred that way implicitly. However, in the context of the writing when it has been established that the your in previous sentences states multiple persons, it is really easy for someone to believe that the your, coupled with the word all, could totally change the meaning of the sentence to mean everyone participating adds their multipliers. I am thankful that I didn't let my players add the way I originally inferred the statement! I would never see anyone!

Liberty's Edge

Thank you. Yes I meant to say stealth.

Benefit: While you can see one or more allies who also have this feat, whenever you and your allies make a Stealth check, you all take the highest roll and add all your modifiers to Stealth.

This is the stat block as written on the SRD. While I agree that your stance is the more logical of the two, maybe who is ever in charge could take out that one word ALL. With that word it can show as everyone's modifier together. But thank you for the clarification. It isn't a matter of convincing other players, I play a hunter so it is auto granted to my companion, and we have a rogue in the party who is thinking of taking some teamwork feats, so no convincing needed on my part.

Liberty's Edge

According to the SRD the Teamwork feat Stealth Synergy states that all characters with this feat roll stealth, then take the highest number rolled, and add all modifiers to the roll? Ex. I roll a 10, you roll a 12, then we add our mods to stealth (mine is +11 and so is yours) for a total stealth roll of 34. Is this correct? Please help me understand.
