Your BaB of +5, Size modifier -1 and +5 from your (modified) str makes it +9, for 1d8+5.

There, that made things fit together in my head.

Thanks all of you for the advice!

It's great to have response this soon. Thank you.

There's just one more thing:

4) gain the natural attacks of the creature, A bite pls eight tentacles, modified by your new strength score.

The octopus' bite attack is indicated as +13(1d8+5). Now, with my stats the adjustment to large would give me the same strength as the octopus and thus the same +13(1d8+5), right?

But what if I fall 2 strength short, this lowers my STR mod by 1. Does this mean my bite attack would be +12(1d8+4) instead or is it a little more complicated than that?

Hello,

After finishing a pathfinder campaign, our party decided to start a new one with new characters. Since I wanted something vastly different from the barbarian I had played with so far, I decided to go for a druid.

I understand most things about the druid, how the spells work etc. But what I don't seem to understand properly is how exactly the stats of wild shapes are determined, and more importantly how the attacks are determined. I've been searching this forum and googling many queries, but can't seem to find the sort of answer I'm looking for.
I think that if I had a good example, it'd be much easier for me to understand. So I ask: could someone please determine some stats for me step-by-step?

These are my stats: http://i.imgur.com/QBe61BZ.jpg
I'd like to turn into a Giant Octopus: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/animals/octopus/octopus-g iant
