Raal follows dispassionately along through the conversation with the Captain. He understood that the Captain wanted to know the crew, any good commander would, but Raal couldn't help wondering if the Captain was just talking to cover up his nervousness. This was a great undertaking, arguably the greatest one in the joint races history, and to have the responsibility of leading it, well, if the Captain was only nervous at the prospect then that showed that his nerves were made of mithral. Flexible yet harder than steel.
Hearing his former lieutenant support him wholeheartedly comes as a surprise to Raal, he had been afraid that he would be resentful, thinking Raal had stolen his glory or sum such nonsense. Raal couldn't help but feel relieved at his endorsement.
Accepting the offered gifts from his parents Raal slips the necklace around his neck, tucking the glass charm down his collar to rest against his skin, and slips the data-shard into his breast-pocket, patting it he gives a slight bow and thanks him whole-heartedly for bearing such precious gifts to him and wows to keep them safe and close to his person.
Level up. Awesome? I'll get cracking but I might take you up on the offer to alter the character (Raal's classes that is, not his character;P). I'm flaky like that.
Ctrl + C baby.. Ctrl + C.
Highlight and crl + c. Standard procedure for me before I post anything, no matter how small, even before a preview. Sucks loosing a post and, trust me, it will happen again.
btw, slow posting has suited me fine, I'm kinda loosing myself in following rpg superstar and now it's just vote, vote, vote... It's addictive, I'm telling you!

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
Raal sits at his place and stares at Earst and the Captain exchange words, completely oblivious to the more subtle meanings of their conversation, the name V'tolik meant nothing to him but he filed the name away for later anyway.
When the captain takes a seat next to him he earns Raal's complete attention, Raal maintains his straight-backed sitting position, his back not touching the chair, he turns his head to follow the captain and his amber eyes meet the captains unflinching.
"Family? Yes, I have family." Raal begins slowly after a moments pause. "My father is a glass blower and my mother a singer in the Oblong Opera, both of modest repute. I was raised with art and beauty but never show an ounce of talent myself. I did however have a talent for atma and a will to fight for what I believed in and so it was readily apparent for me to join the army, Kajiit is not free of it's dissidents no more than this world as I learnt serving under Ayerkahn Nemo. But then You'd already know all that as it is in my file."
Kajiiatans age like elves so let's make him 133-ish, adulthood is at 110-ish so he'd have joined the army at that, with training and service let's make his time spent there 8 years (the open record anyway) rather than 2 giving a 15 year blank.
"My service showed me allot of things captain, some cruel and unforgettable as you well know yourself, some inspiring and wonderful, but after special operations training and the two years I served with them I needed to think. To organize what I had seen and re-assert my beliefs. I went 'lema', on a walkabout, for some time."
Raal stares at the captain at his offer of modus but gives a slight nod and a promise of 'some other time perhaps'.
When Nemo walks in Raal stands up respectfully and gives a military salute to his old lieutenant. Standing straight at his berrations Raal gives a half smile and relaxes a little and meets his eye. "Yes sir, I do, sir. The armor provides protection sir, if you know how to use it, something you could do with if I recall correctly sir." Smiling at the lieutenants withering glare Raal mutters a 'good to see you' and takes his seat again when Nemo's attentions turn to the captain.
Oh hey, sorry for the hold up. The past week has been realy buisy both at work and home, I'm forminag a reply and I'll get it up as soon as I can.
Stopping to view the 'art decor' Raal ponders them for a bit but just sighs as he feels a headache coming on, he didn't get it, depicting atma as something other than atma? Why? Atma was atma, plain to see, feel and free to utilize. Depicting it as something else was.. Well, off.
Stepping away from the mural Raal notices Erast enter the room with the captain and decides to follow. Approaching him from behind he gently touches his shoulder and mutters "Erast." in greeting and takes the seat next to him.

Well, I'm not trained in kn local so I can't make rolls above DC 10 unless you want to house-rule it somehow.
Raal stops and stares for a few moments at the building in front of him, taking in the architecture, the layout of the gardens and the lines of it's walls. 'Flawed' is the only conclusion he can make in his kajiiatan mind. 'The flow is lost on that corner and the symetry of the garden is ruined by that grove. The atmic flow is lost in this place, chaotic, dis-respected.' he thinks sadly. The Raellans had a long way to go, as far ar they'd come in regards to technology they were still too hurried to fully appreciate atmic reconances in their habitats and places of work, something kajiaatan atmic architects has come to realize some thousands of years ago. Perhaps the raellians could be tought?
Shrugging Raal steps forward to the building, he was a soldier, not a teacher nor a diplomat, he had a mission and a purpose, he would do that and let others worry about diplomacyzing the lesser racees or the barbarians in the void. But while he was here he would take in what was to take in.
Yay for haugty elves! ;P

Standing on the balcony of his room in his night robes Raal sipped tea, a dark brew he brought with him from home, and nibbled on a piece of flatbread as he watched the sun rise on the horizon. The light crawled lazily over the landscape, a beautiful view from the spire in the Celebration Retreat, lighting up the green-space, the centers and the walkways between them. Raal admired the beauty of it as he ate his breakfast.
The reception was tomorrow, Raal had another day to roam Illia, he'd walked the Celebration Retreat, he'd walked the streets and he'd spent two years in the CSA Academy, today he intended to visit the Adelene Stewardship building.
Turning from the rising sun his kajiiatan eyesight let him see his room perfectly in the rising light. His uniform lay on his bed, ironed and cleaned, crimson on black with golden kajiaatan embroidery on the arms and his insignia runes on the shoulders, putting it on he donned his belts with his equipment and headed out. Some might raise an eyebrow at him walking around armed and armored, he didn't care, let them raise eyebrows then.
Currently at the Retreat but heading for the Stewardship building playing tourist.
Yup, Star Trek. I'm bait, right? Bur Crimson will do, oh yes, it will do.
Hemlock? You want us to call you Hemlock now? Or DM Canada?
Oh, hey. How did we end up with the discussion about ammo for guns? A clip was mentioned but how much capacity does a clip offer and how much gold does the craftsman want for one?
GM Gorgeous wrote: Thieve's tools as well. Masterwork of course, this is the friggin' CSA! Sir! Yes Sir! ::Scrambles to purchase a masterwork sword::
Share Language and Message sound like a must have for planet side missions and a wand of air-bubble might see some use as well.
Excited to be on board :)
Thrak'el Raal'orn is ready to explore the stars, I figure caracter development (revealing his personality and his more intricate background) will take place in game just like on any good tv-show worth it's salt ;P
Actually I'm getting a much more victorian-esque vibe from this than anythng else, spelljammer meets star trek where everything is powered by magic not technology per say.
Working on equipment.
When you say that pistols will have more capacity than 1 how do you envision it working? A magazine? Some sort of clip? And how much capacity?
I'm asking so's I can figure out how many bullets to buy and if I need black powder to go along with them.
I'm wondering about technology and skills. What skill would cover using/analyzing alien technology? Kn. arcana, kn. plains, spellcraft, use magic device or are you introducing a new skill? How about using computers and piloting?
Edit; Also, are we using armor as DR or sticking to the regular AC?
Sounded cool, maybee we'll have the oportunity at a latter time to run this? Maybee an interest check when/if you feel like it... Anyway, thanks a bunch Barcas for introducing me to SWSE :)
Standing in line with his comrades and fellow kensae and soldiers fills Raal with a buzzing sence of imence pride. 'Thers no way this can ever end. The emperor protects.' he thinks as he stares lovingly at the emperor, moisture in his eyes.
Listening with rapt attention to the emperors every word Raal shivers as his pulse quickens. "FOR THE EMPIRE! FOR THE EMPIRE! FOR THE EMPIRE!" he joins in, pumping his fist in the air, tears now openly streaking down his face.
"Thank you master." Raal says bowing for DeWry, "Your words give me hope, yet they fill me with pride. What do you see master? What does the future hold?" Raal asks quickly of the fading force ghost, fearing that he will fade to nothing only too soon.
Sorry to see you go Smerg. Happy gaming wherever you go :)
Cool. I'm thinking level 4 Jedi, Weapon Focus (lightsaber) and Skill Focus (Use the Force) for feats. Any thouhgts guys?
"Master?" Raal's eyes flutter open at the sound of DeWry's voice, "Master DeWry? Is that you?" Getting up Raal's mind comes back to his body as he stands up and looks around for the source of the voice.
"Yes master." Raal bows slightly to his master/commander and heads in for a check-up before going to his cell to clean and stow his gear, taking stock and making a mental list of what he might need. 'Sugical strike. A small companie heading into the station? Thermal detonators, ammo, grenades, restock the utility belt...'
I'll admit this game has taken second place with my other games, the pace has slowed down for a lot more than two weeks, but I'm still here and still having fun, the slow pace is fine by me as long as it still has a pace, I'd like to see the campaign through.
Putting the game on hiatus after that is fine for me, though it would mean all my sw games have halted or died...
"Copy, return to base. Raal'orn out." Raal waits to the count of three and then disconnects from the holo-net. Leaning back in his chair he takes a breath and goes over the mission in his mind, reflecting on decisions made and options taken, envisioning the battle between the two master force-users and the awsome power of the two holocrons joining. Did he make the right choice in rejecting the holocron outright? Might he be mistaken in refusing it's power? Didn't the kensae use all weapons at their disposal, was he refusing to vield one becouse he was afraid of it?
UTF; Search Feelings, Will accepting the holocron prove favorable or unfavorable? 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Glad to be onboard and heading back to Coruscant Raal quickly straps in and eagerly waits the jump to hyperspace.
As the stars enlongen and the ship sails toward their destination Raal goes and turns on the holo-net and establishes a link to command. As Katarn's image resolves on the display plate Raal nods to his master and gives his report.
"Master, mission success. We have two, I repeat; two holocrons. One light, one dark. We encountered both Starkiller and General Kota, their battling each other alowed us to get past them and secure the holocrons, but master. Kota has Starkiller. He defeated him and carried him off somwhere. We are en-route to base. Orders, sir?"
Raal's expression darkens as the holocrons are handled, shifting his feet he glances about in agitation. "Yes. Come on, let's hurry. We need to get those things to command immediately."
Looking at this now I belive Call dropped them both.
Round 7, initiative 16
HP 59/59, 19 ref, 18 will, 21 fort. +9 block/deflect/negate energy
Taking the hit in stride Raal grits his teeth and strikes at the cultist in a flurry of attaks, hoping to get a hit past it's force-infused reflexes.
Rapid Strike + force point 1d20 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 6 + (6) = 20
Cultist block 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29
Raal's aim true and his connection to the force strong but the cultist nevertheless blocks his strikes with sneering ease.
oop.. sorry, didn't realize it was my turn. Sorry again.
Round 6, initiative 16
Fight Defencively, +5 reflex save.
HP 59/59, 24 ref, 18 will, 21 fort. +9 block/deflect/negate energy
Raal steps up through the door. Moving into the room he brandishes his lightsaber and eyes the two cultists varily.
UTF 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
"Theses craker-heads are fused with the power of the cubes." he says as he watches the energy interaction aroudnd the two cultists, "The frakkers are doped with power. Power thats gone tear them apart in the end."
Raal brings up the rear, looking out for general Kota, hearing the riping sound of screaming metal he glances at Sho and smirks before shaking his head to watch the rear. 'A true savant.' he thinks in wonder at Sho's awsome display of raw power.
Round 5, initiative 16
Rapid Strike vs. cultist #5 + force point 1d20 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (18) + 6 + (4) = 28
Cultist #5 block 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Damage vs. cultist #5 3d8 + 2 ⇒ (3, 7, 7) + 2 = 19
Steping around the corner with his lightsaber at the ready Raal exhanges a flurry of blows with the cultist. Block, swing, thrust, dodge. Barely blocking a thrust aimed at his throat Raal twirls his lightsaber over his head and brings it across the cultists throat. Fully expecting the cultist to block Raal is surprised as his blade meets no resistance and he finishes his move, eyeing the cultist he braces for his counter but instead holds his postition only to watch the cultists head fall from his shoulders to be followed by his twitching body. Huffing out a breath from the exhertion he motions Uri to take the lead. "Try to stay out of the main corridor. I'd rather not face a jedi master but if he comes after us I'll have your back."
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 Seeing the slash coming Rall steps back and flashes his lightsaber in an arc, deflecting the blow in a shower of sparks. Gritting his teeth he stare the cultist in the eye, "You'll need to better that that worm." he snarls at him.
Sorry, not seeing it...
Trooper 1 is at 7 hp on initiative 30-25 and still at 7 at initiative 19-18 after Call stated his action (albeit early).
But I see now that it's factored in on cultist 5 who goes from 28 to 16 hp in the same initiatives.
Am I missing somthing?
Round 1, Initiative 16- Delay after Call
59 hp, 19 ref, 18 will, 21 fort, +9 block/deflect
Waiting for Call to follow Sho's orders Raal watches as he pours fire down the corridor, taking down another trooper and sending a cultist spinning for cover under the pressure of his auto-fire. When the barrage ceases Raal heads down the corridor with his lightsaber at the ready.
Reaching the end of the corridor he stops, realizing the cultist is waiting behind the corner.
Round 3, initiative 16
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22, 3d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 2, 3) + 2 = 8
Raal raises his blaster and shoots a hole clean through the cultist standing in his and Sho's way. Not bothering to stay and watch him fall he moves into the room after the troopers.
Shoot cultist #2. Then Move. Is he still alive at 0 hp?
yup. And the thermal detonators ;)
Round 2, initiative 16
HP 59/59, 19 ref, 18 will, 21 fort. +9 block/deflect
"You are wrong General Kota, as are you Starkiller. You are both blinded my your extreemes. We can have a middle-ground." Raal says calmly as he steps forward up the corridor, his lightsaber in hand.
Initiative 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Raal follows up after Sho, priming a frag grenade and tossing it at a cultist engaged with a rebel. "Die Sith scum!" he shouts as he heaves the grenade, hoping the rebels pay more heed to their words and actions than their uniforms.
Attack H-I 19-20 (cultist 7), 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Damage, 4d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 4) + 2 = 15
Cultist 7 9/31, -2 CT
Knowledge: tactics 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
"Only interfear if either side looks like it's winning. We must try to keep the battle even, if either side wins, we're screwed." Raal orders eyeing the two powerfull force-users battling. "We need this cover to get at the holocrons. This may be our only chance. Uri! Have you got a route through this?"
Blast through guys? Take the passage to the right and run like there were two powerfull force-users on our tails?
"Let them fight it out. We'll come in and pick up the pieces, if there are any. Raal breaths out, peeking around the corner to take in the sceene. "Do you have a fix on the holocron Uri?"
Raal studies the way pointed out by Uri and nods his accent. "Good work. Let's go." he says, pointing Call and Uri to lead and taking up a place by Sho.
"Alright. So we have an unidentifyed friend or foe in the playground. Let's see if they want to chat shall we? Uri, can you see by the map where they'r heading?"
Raal shivers at the message in the journal, 'Such weak minded fools!' "We must beware. The temptation they sucumbed to must still be present." he warns as he stands back up.
"Uri was the only one hit Call, our soldid oak wall, let's head out."
