Background:
Waldorf began his studies as a philosopher of the world. His intellectual proclivities toward questioning the world around led him to a rather strange world view. The world and the gods are but illusions created by the collective belief of worshippers and everyone is merely disembodied souls in the astral. It is through magic that individuals are able to strip away this reality and reveal the "truth". While his beliefs tended to ostracize him from the main bastions they gave him a profound talent in the art of illusion as well as his natural knack. Soon Waldorf found himself on the fringe where his views were more tolerated and it was outside that false security of the bastions that Waldorf would find the lost knowledge of the past.
