At his birth, Preston appeared very human to his very human parents. He was born with golden curls, at least they appeared golden, so who were they to question? As he grew though, they began to notice features which were odd. His parents were terribly frightened, thinking perhaps that a changeling or other creature had taken their child and replaced it with its own, and so they were rid of him.
He was taken to the Temple of the Stars and Roads, and placed in one of the shrines there. Given that he had been tied to the moon, they found one with imagery of a moon and figured that would be good enough. Little did they know how much of an impact that would have on his life. Raised largely in the temple by the priest Miesalo Salen, Preston took to wearing covering robes because his appearance often caused quite a few stares. Through strange discovery, it was noted that his tears could cure disease (a story for another time full of intrigue and drama). This caused him to become a beacon, people coming to him to receive his blessing, which only caused him to withdraw further from the public eye.
The shrine he was left in, and the empyreal lord to whom he has dedicated his life and service, is Kelinahat. Kelinahat being a deity of subterfuge, spies, and secrets, there isn't much for Preston to do in the tiny village of Roderic's cove, and he seeks adventure beyond its walls but isn't quite sure enough of himself yet to do so.
Appearance & Personality:
Preston is an odd sort, which is evident no matter what. He tends to be clothed head to toe, leaving almost nothing exposed save for his eyes, which glow softly in the daylight and shimmer with the moonlight. Were one to see beyond the robes and mask, however, they would find an exquisite creature bearing no resemblance to anything whatsoever, but with pieces drawn from a number of sources. His arms have feathers running down their length, though they are clearly arms and not wings. Soft downy feathers cover the skin with some longer plumes interspersed. His lips, much as his eyes, change hue depending on the light. In the daylight they look a gold or bronze shade, while in the night they turn silver. Lastly, his hair takes on not only a shimmering quality in the moon, but its color matches the moon's phase, going from a pale white when the moon is full to a raven black when the moon vanishes in the night sky. It is precisely for these reasons that he tends to remain covered.
As to his bearing and personality, despite the fact that few ever see it, Preston tends to smile quite a bit. When not directly in the pursuit of his duties to Kelinahat he does quite enjoy being around people and making the scene, though obviously not being the center of attention. He rarely drinks anything strong, and is a bit of a picky eater. Some call him bird-brained, those who know him well at least, but he has a keen intellect and the practical smarts to use it, he just tends to be a bit preoccupied and it comes off as forgetful or as though he has a cognitive delay. As his celestial ancestors, he tends to be somewhat flighty in interaction, but with great focus when the situation calls for it.
Sihedron Hero: I would go with Kyra the Cleric as corresponding Sihedron Hero, either AP.
