Background:

Naadhira Samat Yinifah was born in Kelesh to an Aishmayar family dedicated to the arts and evangelism. During her youth, she traveled extensively with her family preaching the forgiveness and redemption of Saranrae. Naadhira discovered that her artistic talents lay in the form of dance, and while on the road she not only recieved a standard education, she was mentored in dance in the hopes of becoming a sacred dancer of Saranrae. When she was 12 years old her family entered Galt to try and help quell the ongoing violence. In Isarn, unaware of the local politics, they approached the Cult of the Cleansing Sun. When her parents realized it was not a standard church of Saranrae they refused to follow Norman Jaubert and were denounced and executed as enemies of the council. When Naadhira saw them coming for her parents she slipped into a nearby alleyway, narrowly avoiding sharing their fate.

The next 5 years were spent on the streets. Stricken mute by her ordeal and what she viewed as Saranrae betraying her, she denounced religion and focused simply on survival. Developing an uncanny ability to make her way among the unknown alleyways she avoided trouble while searching out safe havens and food. Over time she began to feel like she was one with the streets, subconsciously being led to food and safety. Although she did not return to Saranrae or take up any other diety she continued to dance to honor the memory of her parents and to temporarily escape the world.

When she was about 17 years old she was discovered by Lilli Popescu. For some time, Lilli had been hearing rumors of a young girl residing in her neighborhood and was intrigued at how someone could live in those alleys for so long without being seen by The Family. She actively searched the girl out and when she found Naadhira, dancing alone in a narrow cul-de-sac with eyes closed and fingers brushing against the walls, Lilli was entranced.

Over the next weeks and months Naadhira was often visited and slowly befriended by Lilli, who would bring her food and stay near her quietly, never pressuring her. Although Naadhira could not respond to her verbally, Lilli's patience eventually wore her down and Naadhira took her hand to be led to a promised save haven. The second their hands touched, their minds did as well. Unbeknownst to her, Naadhira had developed a form of telepathy over the years of silent communion with the city. She mentally introduced herself as Raqisat Samitatan (راقصة صامتة) and followed Lilli back to the teahouse.

Lilli wanted to continue Naadhira's training in dance and give her employment as one of her girls, but when it was discovered that clients were uncomfortable dealing with a someone who was not only mute but could speak directly into their minds, they realized that the life of a courtesan was not for her. Not willing to just let her disappear back into the streets, Lilli let her stay underground in The Sanctum to continue honing her newfound abilities. From time to time, she would come upstairs to silently dance alongside Lilli in the tea house, but was always protected from the advances of the customers. Their relationship grew into complete trust on both sides, and one morning when a thrush came flying into the catacombs to land on Raqis's shoulder and began to speak aloud on her behalf, Lilli realized what was to be done.

It was time to start creating the shadow figure of La Tisserand, and Raqis would be the perfect one to help her begin. Raqis was smart, knew more about the city streets than anyone else in The Family, and had a unique ability to never be overheard whien planning. Now that she could more easily converse with her newfound 'aghnia (أغنية) the thrush, Lilli offered Raqis an opportunity. She was to head back into the streets, this time as the head of a crew of men and women in to begin establishing the mystery of La Tisserand. Needless to say, Raqis jumped at the opportunity and began to prepare for her new position as trusted team lead and manager; Philomena: future agent of The Weaver.
