Sorry, just having fun with the role-play, was kinda hoping this kinda verbal throwdown would happen :-P If I'm going to far, I can back off

I know VERY well that the smallest bit of a seperate plane would feed the fires, but they will be leaderless if their pharaoh is imprisoned! Pavel shouts back, his face reddening in anger, and how long until your order's wards fail? How long until this demon escapes and wreaks revenge on our decendents?!? he points at Dave to accentuate his point, Clearly they're not infallible, that THING escaped on its own, and it's not even sentient! If your order is so wise, have them draw up an iron contract that this THING can't weasle out of and keeps us safe rather than keeping a damned lunatic locked in the basement! You speak of prejudice while thinking you are above it all, but the throne you sit upon is crafted of your own prejudical arrogance, you sheep in god's clothes!

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

I AM thinking of the big picture, lapdog of The Order, Pavel snaps at Izzy, turning only his eyes as he speaks, what would be the consequences if the plane of fire were to die? How would that affect the multiverse at large if an entire element no longer had its representative plane? Would the suns wink out of the sky? Would the hearts of worlds cease to burn? Would the ovens cease to cook to feed the masses? he finally turns to Isagoras, looking him directly in the eye. Tell me, oh great and mighty wizard, slave to The Order of the White Angel, what would happen?

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

Despite my earlier gloating, I don't think it would be the best idea to keep this... his hand spins as he thinks for the right word, ...demon anywhere on this earth. I agree with Dave, and say that we should take what we have and be happy with it.

He turns to watch the setting sun on the horizon he has started to become very familiar with. And besides, who knows what will happen to the multiverse if the plane of fire sputters out...

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

Aaaaaah, I see... Pavel exclaims while turning back towards everyone, you NEED us to make these wishes, or you'll be trapped in a bottle until we do. Isn't that right, your highness? he taunts the pharaoh, an evil smirk working its way onto his face. You're completely at our mercy until we use the three wishes you so hastily offered to us.

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

Starting Gold: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4) = 11

Well. That's 5 more gold than average, so I'll take it.

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

I'll get you my character sheet as soon as my monitor comes in so I can access my character sheet. (My laptop screen broke and I can't currently access any of the files, monitor comes in on the 3rd)

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

Pavel's face screws up in disgust as the offer is made, turning away from thr eftreet as it does. Nothing is given so easily. I want no part in asking favors from this thing, except for getting everyone home. Leave me out of the rest of it.

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

So, I have a couple questions regarding people's characters.

Izzy: what sort of spells is your Theurge planning on having on-hand on a regular basis?

Valda: what spheres and powers are you planning on taking? And how damaging will your character be with that knife?

I ask these things cause I have a few ideas in my head as to what I can do. At the moment, it looks like a bloodrager being up front and swinging could be a boon, but like a life oracle or shaman could be critical as well. So, based on what your characters are doing on the "keeping us healthy" front and the "be a wall of meat for our squishies/archers" front, I was planning on adjusting my character's class accordingly beforr submitting it to Rando.

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

Well, I was looking into doing a bloodrager, but knowing that we need those holes filled, let me look into what else I can scrape together :-) Medium could be interesting, but the spell lists are ridiculously limited for the healing role, even with the Heirophant spirit... I'll keep everyone appraised.

Also, happy holidays everybody!

Hoping the dog-men will guard his approach, Pavel takes off at a run towards Dave, his shoes glowing a bright yellow and seeming to hasten his approach. When he finally makes it to Dave, he reaches out and touches Dave's back, the glow from his shoes transfering to envelope Dave in the warm glow. Kill the bastard, Dave.

Actions:

Swift: Use Burst of Speed focus power for an extra 30ft move speed
Move: Move to Dave [/b]
Standard: Grant Dave Quickness
2 points of Transmutation Mental Focus expended

Quickness:

Quickness (Sp): As a standard action, you can expend 1 point of mental focus to grant supernatural quickness and reflexes to yourself or a willing living creature you touch. This functions as haste, but the bonus to AC and on Reflex saving throws increases to +2. This effect lasts for 1 round per occultist level you possess.

Wow, that was a really deep rabbit hole... I learned nothing about the age of Alkenstar, but I learned quite a lot about how divisive the Antagonize feat can be. I swear, the forums are worse than a Wiki of any type...

I uh... May be a bit too enamored with Alkenstar... I blame the fact that one of my more favorite PFS characters is a Shieldmarshal, and is primed to play Wardens of the Reborn Forge once we get the group together. It has become one of my top 5 favorite settings in Pathfinder.

For sure. I'm sure there's some discussion on the boards about this, I'll have to see if I can dig something up for a definitive answer.

Actually, there's some discrepancy in the timeline. In the Pathfinder Chronicles: Campaign Setting, it says that Alkenstar forged The Worldbreaker bombard (measuring a staggering 90 inches in diameter) for Taldor in 2009 Ar, but the later released Inner Sea World Guide said that Alkenstar wasn't even founded until a man (named Alkenstar, because SOMEONE was egotistical) fled into the Mana Wastes and found other fugitives of the law in 4588 AR and subsequently founded a city. So... I guess it depends on whether all publications are canon or whether the newer overrules the older.

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

By this point, I'm thinking maybe we should just all be from Alkenstar and decided to go as a group for this lottery :-P though we probably wouldn't have gotten there in time if that were the case

Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

ditto on the action point thing

Pavel barely manages to turn away from the flames, his coat slightly singed in the process. He's very unsure about what to think at the appearance of the dog-headed man with the sword, but he doesn't let it stop him from making a finger gun and shouting, Be smote, сука! as a ray of frost jets from his gloved finger at the efreet.

Energy Ray Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 Against Touch
Cold Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 1) = 15

Using 1 point of Mental Focus from my Evocation school to use my Energy Ray focus power.

May the frigid cold never be impune the power of the mighty Efreet, lords of the flame and the elements they survey, Pavel says in a monotone, neither displaying disdain or reverence to the mighty creature. Your court will be in for the fight of their lives, he finishes while looking directly at Dave, steel in his eyes and his sword in his hand.

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

Pavel looks the creature up and down from afar, appraising his form and trying to think of any time he may have read anything about creatures such as these. A demon of some sort, I'm sure... I wonder if we have any chance in combat against this thing...

Knowledge: Planes: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Pavel reflexively also rests his hand on his scimitar, unsure what help it would be if the creature did in fact decide to treat with him in hand-to-hand combat. He looks do Dave and the others for guidance on how he should act at this point, not wanting to cause an incident that gets them all killed.

Good news for you then, I haven't been able to find an alchemist archetype that catches my fancy for the campaign :-P at the moment I'm looking at an Inquisitor, but that is subject to change. There shall be idea bouncing in real-time when I get back from Dallas.

Current concept is someone who isn't necessarily interested in gathering and selling Osiriani relics (though that is a bonus), but knows that there is probably a wealth of information they could find while in there, and money to be had in helping protect other tomb robbers from the dangers of it. The monster kind, traps would not be their forte :-P

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

Pavel momentarily leans into the arcane discussion only to add, I'd think that would be endothermic, wouldn't it? and pointedly glares at Izzy to see how he reacts before stepping back and letting the stodgy studied casters do their work.

Male Human Occultist 7 | HP 64/66 | AC 22/T:14/FF:21 | Fort: +7 Ref: +3 Will: +6 | Per +10 | Init +1 | CMD 21 | Conjuration: 3/3, Divination: 3/3, Evocation 1/2, Transmutaion: 2/4

Ah man, now I need to put in some super serious thought :-P My immediate thought is some sort of alchemist, but not a traditional bomb throwing one, methinks. At least one of you will be entirely unsurprised by this development :-P

Pavel spends the rest og the trip meditating on his junk, not even the occasional bump disrupting his focus. When they get to the pyramid, he keep his mouth shut rather than pissing off the balls of fire that guard to gate, letting Dave's usual antics gain them entry. This is all far beyond my abilities... Hopefully we don't all burn to death horribly in the presence of the damned pharaoh...

No argument here! Pavel shouts as he leans out the window and takes a shot at the massive, terrifying dragon chasing them. This is not at all how he thought it would all end, but here it is: being chased by a dragon while in a fire truck on the plane of fire. What a eulogy.

Even with the phones, the government will just call it an elaborate hoax... They're quite fond of that, the bastards... Pavel mumbles on, throwing in a couple, "I told you so's" here and there, just look at MK Ultra, or what really goes on in the Russian gulags and the blacksites where they treat with aliens... We'll be called crazy for saying any of this, he hesitates for a moment, chocking on the words before continuing, if we survive this that is. Though it's the right thing to do, suicide or not. These people may be sheep to uncaring government, but they deserve to deal with that and be awoken to that reality, they don't deserve this.

Pavel appraises the situation from where he is, looking at all the beings that inhabit this small patch of beach, aware of the growing sound of the nearing sirens, knowing that he has to finish this as quickly as possible. Or, at least help to end it. He rushes 20' up the beach, fumblinh for the compass tied at his belt and presenting it before the cultists and elementals. His focus momentarily turns inward before a brilliant explosion of gloden dust errupts between the main wizard and his summoned creatures. >>>Beachside entrance. Demon worshipers. Move quickly.<<< Pavel texts back, then promptly sets his balalaika case down away from any security cameras and gets his gear prepared.

This is why I don't trust the Order, Isagoras. Or... Most people, for that matter. I still don't trust you. But I'm sure you're already beating yourself up about this, so I shall scold you later, Pavel rambles towards Izzy as he slides his guns into their holsters. He draws his sword from the case, now bearing what appear to be a mix of Greek and Cyrillic letters along the blade that faintly glow in the darkness, and keeps it in hand rather than sheathing it. I hope the rest get here soon so we can kill some secret society demon worshipers and stop their ritual... whatevet it is. He also looks upon the ritual to see if he can tell what those gathered are attempting to do.

Pavel merely offers a grunt as way of introduction, clearly on guard around so many agents of The Order, looking like a coiled spring ready to launch at any moment. His hand nervously plays with the handle of his balalaika case during the time he remains in the room.

Pavels eyebrows shoot so high that there may be concerns of them flying off his head when the dagger is revealed, and he nearly jumps from his seat in surprise. He sits in stunned silence until Isagoras stops napping, and frowns at his suggestions. Personally, I am against telling the Order ANYTHING, let alone that their precious knife appeared in Dave's pocket. As you say, I believe it is Dave's choice, but my advice is to keep this from the Order at all costs. Who knows what sort of spying magic they may have put on your items as it is...

When a server passes by, Pavel inquires as to the possibility of getting a strong drink at this establishment, despite the obviously early hour. Times like these deserve something strong, no matter the time.

Pavel was just unpacking a box when he received the text, and he grimaced upon seeing the sender. Damn Order lapdog... Probably wants to force some newfound "wisdom down our throats... He sighs and continues unpacking the box, in no real rush to get to the restaurant until he's good and ready, especially in this deplorable heat. He mumbles about government plots and weather machines, certain in his convictions that it's all a plot to keep everyone on the internet and spending money. The irony is lost on him as he pulls out his bulky, but well fashioned torc.

After checking to see that all the bits and bobs on the wonderful (and expensive) piece work as intended, he puts on his disguised breastplate, grabs his balalaika case and everything within, and steadies himself to enter the hellscape he finds himself in. If there was ever a time he missed Serbia... Though perhaps this meeting would end up being something more than the babbling of some old secret society nut.

With the GM's permission, my downtime actions are these:

  • Buy a scroll of masterwork transformation from The Order (450gp)
  • Use Craft Magic Arms and Armor to enhance my Scimitar to +2 (4,000gp)
  • Use Craft Magic Arms and Armor to upgrade my breastplate to +2 (1,500gp)
  • Buy a Buglar's Torc (I couldn't find a real-world eqivalent, but the Pathfinder item is 2,102gp, which is a little bit over I know :-/ Up to you obviously whether you want to allow it or not)
  • Upgrade Dave's sword to make it keen
  • Speculate on which organizations planted the current US presidential candidates into their current positions. Truly insidious ones...
