About Oskin WideheartBiography/Personality: Spoiler:
Oskin grew up in the slums, and used to sing for money. His parents died when he was very young. His mother took ill, and later passed from her sickness. His father never really recovered from the shock of losing his love. He became sullen, and withdrawn. Eventually he lost his employment as a thatcher, and took to begging on the streets. Oskin tried to help his father as best he could. He began performing on the street corner, to try to earn a meager pay. He helped bring in more money, and eventually things got a bit better. Fate found him, one rainy day, so many years ago, when he was discovered by a Tenor for the Opera who has become lost. He heard Oskin singing, standing in the rain, looking as forlorn as a Halfling child can. He paid the boy for directions to the Opera House, and then offered to take him under his wing as an apprentice. Oskin agreed immediately, and set about learning all he could. He was given a fine education, and taught by some of the best music teachers in Cheliax. His voice, a natural male Soprano, helped him stand out among the competition. His career was rocketing to victory. Until the Opera House was closed suddenly. Now he is turned out into the world, trying to find his way in the city of Kintargo. Relevant Facts About Oskin:

A Little Bit More About Oskin's Personality:
He will be the guy coming up with out of the box ideas, and is absolutely a loyal friend. Not the type to abandon friends; he wouldn't stand to let the Cheliaxians lock anyone up. He is very much a team player. He will gladly use his influence and charming personality to assist his allies. The real secret about him is how lonely his is, without even being aware of it himself. He is an introspective man, and prone to fits of melancholy. He is an emotional creature, and craves acceptance in an environment that isn't the antagonistic world of the up-and-comers at the Opera. He has few friends, and no real friends. He pines for a real connection, that kind of friendship that people talk about. He is a well-balanced individual overall, well-adjusted despite his poor childhood. His skill at deceit is in an inborn talent, not one learned from necessity. He can be magnanimous to those who are benevolent, and can be critical of the selfish. Oskin, at his core, is a sophisticated, educated artiste, who, while prone to bits of fancy, is a gentle person. His relatively submissive personality aside, he is a moral, driven man who really just wants everyone's lives to improve. Oskin's Goals:
Spoiler:
Goal 1: First off, I'd love it if he was able to make a name for himself, as he is a little bit of a stand-out personality. Getting the Opera House reopened, and having a career will still be important, even with all the plot, because he'll know eventually things will calm down and he'll want to perform again. Goal 2: I plan to have him morph from a chatty, almost irresponsible character into a more caring and concerned about his fellow man. The seed of goodness is strong within him, he just needs to have his opened to the plight of all Kintargo, rather than just the slums. I think he will need a little help, maybe a push from the other PCs, or perhaps a wake-up call. Goal 3: In doing research on the setting, I fell in love with the Silver Ravens. It certainly looks like we will join up with them as part of the plot, but I noticed that there is a presence from the Bellflower Network. I would love to have him join both, and maybe start rescuing slaves to help aid the rebellion!
Oskin's Secrets:
Spoiler:
Kept to Himself: He is madly in love Strea Vestori. He dreams about often, and is willing to do almost anything to win her favor, or to get her attention. It is bordering on fanatical, though so far he has managed to keep his obsession to himself. The funny part is that even he isn't aware how deep his feelings go. Kept from Him: He has a cousin in the Silver Ravens, his father's nephew, who was thought dead a few years ago. Finding out a second family member (other than Oskin's father) is still living would mean a great deal to him.
Important NPCs:
Spoiler:
Falwrick Wideheart: Oskin's father, who still lives in the slums. Oskin provides enough money to help support his father, who has gone nearly blind in his old age. He is a good man, but has a bitter streak toward the world since his wife died.
Kormo Hornblower: Oskin's cousin, by way of Oskin's father's younger sister. She married young, and had Kormo early in her marriage. Kormo is only a year and a half older than Oskin. Oskin has always looked up to his cousin like an older brother, and in their childhood were very close. Introduction/Writing Sample: Spoiler:
This is just a writing sample of a fictional account written as if he stumbled across a bar where the Silver Ravens were recruiting. Oskin smiled at the greeting his received. He hadn’t expected any fans of the Opera here, so to have even this lone individual recognize him was more than a little flattering. “Yes, I am indeed Oskin Wideheart. Thank you for your patronage to the Opera!” He smiled a large, welcoming smile to the middle-aged human woman in front of him. ”Truth be told, I was expecting to not be recognized. It will help with making my case, I do believe.” She shook his hand again. “Thanks be to Desna for gracing you with such a tremendous voice!” She heard her name called from across the room. ”I hope to see you again, goodman Wideheart.” ’Well, that was interesting.’ Oskin pondered his next move. These Silver Ravens looked like a tough bunch. Seeing a man others were differing to, he walked boldly up to the man, and extended his lacy-cuffed hand upward in a gesture of greeting. ”Hello! My name is Oskin Wideheart, and I believe I can be of great service to you.” The human man chuckled. ”No offense to ye, lit’le man, but yer a bit on the….fancy side fer my tastes.” Oskin cursed inwardly. ”Now, my good sir. You will find that having a man with associations at the Opera House could be very useful to you. In fact, I believe my ability to instill emotion into those who hear me perform will in fact be quite useful indeed.” The man looked taken aback at the well-spoken Halfling. Sputtering, he replied, ”Well, I, uh, I guess you’d be needin’ to take to Sam over thure in the corner. He’s the man ta’ see." Oskin smiled his award-winning smile, and nodded politely. ”Thank you my good sir.” He walked over to Sam, the man in charge, ready to face his destiny. He would help them take back the city. He would stop the oppression of the slums. He would get the Opera House reopened. And he would look fabulous doing it. Character Sheet:
Spoiler:
Male Halfling Demagogue/Sorcerer (Rakshasa Bloodline) 1, Follower of Calistria High Social, High Disguise, High Stealth Character, and Full Arcane Caster. Good at getting the word out, inciting mobs, or just playing a wonderful lullaby. He is the type to take off-the-wall bard spells, and a lot of bardic masterpieces. However, at his core, he is a spellcaster. He is Spell-Song heavy, and may never use a weapon. I will be taking the various feats to up his disguise checks, including several spells like vocal alteration, to help him adopt a female human child persona that he uses on missions. He doesn't have any of that now though, considering his background. I figured he'd pick it up as he became involved. Bardic Performances:
Distraction: Each round of the Distraction, Oskin makes a Perform (act, comedy, dance, or oratory) skill check. Any creature within 30 feet of him(including Oskin) that is affected by an illusion (pattern) or illusion (figment) magical attack may use Oskin's Perform check result in place of its saving throw if, after the saving throw is rolled, the Perform check result proves to be higher. If a creature within range of the Distraction is already under the effect of a non-instantaneous illusion (pattern) or illusion (figment) magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it sees the Distraction, but it must use Oskin's Perform check result for the save. Distraction does not work on effects that don’t allow saves. Distraction relies on visual components. Facinate: Each creature to be fascinated must be within 90 feet, able to see and hear Oskin, and capable of paying attention to him. Oskin must also be able to see the creatures affected. The distraction of a nearby combat or other dangers prevents the ability from working. Each creature within range receives a Will save (DC 15) to negate the effect. If a creature’s saving throw succeeds, Oskin cannot attempt to fascinate that creature again for 24 hours. If its saving throw fails, the creature sits quietly and observes the performance for as long as Oskin continues to maintain it. While fascinated, a target takes a –4 penalty on skill checks made as reactions, such as Perception checks. Any potential threat to the target allows the target to make a new saving throw against the effect. Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a weapon at the target, automatically breaks the effect. Bloodline Arcana: Add half Oskin's sorcerer level to the Spellcraft DC for others to identify spells you cast. If their checks fail by 5 or more, they mistakenly believe he is casting an entirely different spell (selected by him when you begin casting). Famous (+1): Oskin may choose a region (Jarvis End) where he is famous, and within that region, the locals are more likely to react favorably toward the bard. He gains a bonus on Bluff and Intimidate checks in that area and to influence people from that area. Silver Tongue: Oskin can draw upon his outsider heritage to spin amazingly convincing lies. Activating this ability is a swift action. He gains a +5 bonus on one Bluff check made to convince another of the truth of his words (similar to using Glibness). If a magical effect is used against him that would detect his lies or force him to speak the truth, the user of the effect must succeed on a caster level check (DC 10 + his sorcerer level) to succeed. Failure means the effect does not detect his lies or force him to speak only the truth. He can use this ability 8 times per day. Favored Class Option:

You may notice I bought more than 50GP worth of supplies. I had to make a section just for costume pieces! The rest I took out of my starting wealth. It was far too appropriate not to do so.
His Reason for Protest is Looking for Your Idol. He is rather smitten with Strea Vestori, and hoped to see her. With the closer of the Opera House, he’s been getting more and more frustrated. His career was taking off, and he could finally start giving back to those in the slums. Strea is putting words to his innermost thoughts, and he’s more than a little attracted to her…or at least the version of her he has in his head.
Advacement Notes:
Spoiler:
He'll be straight class for both classes, probably the whole way through the campaign. And then, of course, several disguise-based feats. He may go into Veiled illusionist, as he is more illusion focused now, and perhaps the Deific Obedience feats for Sivanah. They were just released last month, so if I do take them, I'll either pick up a copy, or wait until they are on the SRD.
