![]() Very little occurs as Tyrrin's group continues on their way, but Tybalt and David both notice that Oneiro is becoming nervous. He's breathing faster and he's looking around more often, almost like he's hearing things. When asked, he just mutters something about needing to leave and then runs ahead. When he triggers a trap and becomes pinned under rubble he looses all composure. It doesn't take long for Dave to find the curse placed on him and remove it. Once calm and free, he explains his bout of claustrophobia can mean only one thing: the book is in the direction they're going. He repeats this when the groups meet up again, and they head back towards it, fighting off more remoras than ever. Finally, at the wing's exit, he suggests everyone uses whatever long-term magic abilities or mental powers they have before leaving the maze. It's good advice... The cavern they enter is covered in the same material they encountered before, and the spheres embedded in it can only be eggs of the giant remorhaz in the center of the room, easily towering above any the group had seen. The large green gem embedded in it's chest marks it as the Guardian, and it screeches it's battle cry as it lunges forward to attack! The battle is long and difficult. Even outnumbered the beast holds it's own, and it's only when Tyrrin realizes that it grows stronger anytime a spell or power is used nearby that the tide of battle turns, ending a while later with Dave dropping Jeran from high up and the lycan using the extra momentum to deliver a truly crushing blow. With the beast finished, destroying it's gem is easy. Finding the book is somewhat harder. It takes hours, and the remorhaz that enter the chamber regularly aren't helping. It's Tybalt that finds the black box from Tyrrin's vision, and Oneiro that feels the power coming from it. This time the book was not, actually, a book, but a box covered with runes and symbols on the inside. time to head back. ![]()
