![]() Hi Folks, I'm sure this has come up before, but I can't find it atm... Why aren't the map folios for an adventure path included in the AP subscription, rather than the Campaign Setting subscription? Considering the maps are specifically for use with the AP, it's odd that they're included with another product line. For instance, I like to buy the maps to go with the AP's I buy. I also use the PDF of the maps (Realm Works etc). Which meant I had to sub to the CS for 1 item, then un-sub (which kind of makes me feel a bit dirty, like I'm taking advantage of the system). I'm sure there's people who sub to the Campaign Setting, who don't buy the AP's & have no use for the maps. Even if they're not included directly in the AP subscription, can they be an optional addition? E.g. pre-order the map folio as an AP subscriber & receive the free PDF. I'm sure there's a legitimate reason why, so let me have it... :) Cheers,

![]() Hi Folks, I'm going to be running a large aerial combat between airships with cannons & dragons in my Kingmaker campaign soon. Problem is I'm not sure on what rules to use. I have Ultimate Combat & Ultimate Campaign (along with ultimate Battles & War from Legendary Games), however I'm not really sure if there's a unified set of rules or what rules I should use. I feel that the mass combat rules in Ultimate Campaign are too generic. So does anybody have any ideas, or has anybody run something similar in the past? Thanks,

![]() Hi Folks, It's been a while since I've posted any maps, so I wanted to share my latest: maps for the glades in Thousandbreaths. I know I can't go to scale (the maps would be massive) & there's some errors & bugs in rendering the output for the Nightmare spire, but they give you a good idea of how they look. I'm having to rush the maps as we're gaming weekly at the moment. These maps are small (approx. 1000px), but the full sized maps are approx. 40MB each. I'll get them uploaded sometime down the track when I'm finished & have more time. As for grid size, the full maps are either 35 or 50px per 5 foot. The maps were created in Campaign Cartographer 3+ with the Dungeons of Scheley map pack. For glade B, I played around with watercolor effects in Photoshop. I'm not sure if I'll do the others like that. My thoughts at the time were to make them look like illustrations in a book. So here's the links to the SMALL versions: Enjoy! Cheers,
Edit: PS, there's no grid lines as I use d20Pro to generate the grids. ![]()
![]() If you're anything like me, you've been busting your gut waiting for the Player Edition of Realm Works to hit! Finally when my players ask who "Pitax" is, I can tell them to "Check Realm Works"! :) ![]()
![]() Hi, I'm trying to re-start a sub for the Campaign Setting, starting with the Numeria book, to ship with the July order, but I can't get past the subscription options step. When I try to add a payment method it keeps looping around with the billing address. If I skip this page & go to the confirm order screen, the subscription options button is red & won't let me place the order. Can somebody please add this manually? Thanks,

![]() Hi Folks, Our group has just completed the main quest line of Blood for Blood (we have most of the exploring to do), so we're going to be hitting book 5 shortly. As we know that war is coming, the group is starting to raise their armies in preparation. However, I can't find any details on the maximum number of armies, or maximum army sizes based on our kingdom size. For example, our kingdom size is 70 hexes, with a combined population of 28,500 in all of the towns & cities (17,750 in the capital). At the moment, between all of our castles, forts, watchtowers etc, we have 900 soldiers, with a maximum single army size of 200 in the capital). Obviously we can raise more than 10 soldiers, but we can't have 100 gargantuan armies running about. So what is the limit? Book of the River Kingdoms (I know it's not official & Ultimate Campaign is newer etc) states for 70 hexes, the maximum army size is 500. So is that per army, or in total for the entire kingdom? Or can you simply keep recruiting until you can't afford the BP to keep them? It's all a bit vague... Cheers,

![]() Hi Folks, I've been thinking of working out a way to incorporate The Emerald Spire adventure into a Kingmaker campaign, so I thought I'd post my initial ideas & see what others come up with as well. **Possible spoiler warning ahead for non-GM's*** (Note that I haven't read TES yet. The PDF only appeared on my account this morning, so there could be things that don't work based on a lack of knowledge at this point in time.) -My initial thoughts are to place the Spire & Fort Inevitable somewhere to the north of the Branthlend Mountains, south of the border with Numeria. It's out of the way of the main story line & leaves Fort Inevitable away from any problems with Pitax etc. Although Fort Inevitable could be a good thorn in the side for Pitax. Hmmm... -Since it's an adventure of 1st-13th levels, the main characters for Kingmaker couldn't really play it as such, so I think it could work as some kind of sub-campaign for 1st level PC's that are from or based in the main kingdom. It would make sense that a newly formed kingdom of large enough size would begin to attract or spawn their own adventurers. -It could be a good break away from Kingmaker for the players. Give them a chance to run some other PC's while the kingdom keeps rolling on in the background. It would feel better to run some games with other PC's to give the feeling of time passing in the main kingdom, rather than just saying "2 years have passed". -Possible opportunity for another person to GM & give the Kingmaker GM a break from all the hard work. -Would the kingdom try to annex Fort Inevitable, or leave it as an independent state, sitting on the border with Numeria (for instance)? Based on the stats for the town in TES, I'd say the kingdom could steam roll the Hellknights. But would they want to? It could be a good little buffer in case Numeria gets ideas of its own. So there's some ideas / thoughts that come to mind. I'm interested to see what better minds than mine come up with! Cheers,

![]() Hi Folks, I thought I'd run a kind of blog here as I re-learn how to use Campaign Cartographer 3 / City Designer 3 to map out the Make Glorious Nation of Stagfell & her capital, Stagfell. Just a quick bit of background, I used to own CC2 / CD2 years ago, but sold it when we stopped playing D&D. Now that we've been into Pathfinder & playing Kingmaker for 18 months, I bit the bullet to repurchase CC3 / CD3 / DD3 again to map our kingdom. I'm also an ex-draftsman & I used AutoCAD / 3D Studio for about 11 years professionally, so I have a grasp on how CAD systems work. First up, I started on the map of the complete Stolen Lands. I found an image from where somebody else drew a properly orientated map in CC (I think it was Leonal???). I imported the image & began to trace the rivers & lakes. But I wasn't happy with how that was looking, using the vanilla CC3 styles. So it got pushed to the side while I went back to playing Elder Scrolls Online for a few days. Yesterday I started thinking about it again & I found that I really liked the styles in the Cartographer's Annual Vol 6 / 2012. Especially the Jon Roberts city style. So I grabbed that & started playing around last night with mapping the city itself. I started with a map 2000' x 1600' to give me plenty of room & traced over a picture of the Stag Lord's Fort to give me a rough size for where the castle will sit. Next up was some random 10' roads to roughly block out where the city blocks would sit (and here was my big mistake, but more on that later). I then focused on a section of 2 blocks (8 lots) & mapped in random 5' roads, followed by the major buildings, such as the breweries, guildhall etc. The rest was random buildings using the built-in street tools. Here's the result: Stagfell 1 Now for the big problem...the scale is totally out of whack. A single lot is supposed to be about 750' square. Mine are nowhere near that. So tonight I'll rip that stuff out & block out a 750' grid then use that to fill out the proper distances. It'll mean there will be lots more buildings, but that works for me. It should look great when it's done. Cheers,

![]() Hi, I'd like to cancel my Player Companion & Campaign Setting subscriptions. Can the Player Companion sub be cancelled before Bastards of Golarion is sent, and can the Campaign Setting sub be cancelled after the Wrath of the Righteous map is sent? So my Feb shipment should just include City of Locusts & Wrath of the Righteous Map Folio. March onwards should just be the Adventure Path only. Thanks,

![]() Hi Folks, I'm looking for a clarification for rooms earning capital. Do you have to spend the gp for a room to earn capital? For example: A Throne Room (assume Take 10) earns 2 Influence per day. Does that mean I have to spend 30gp to "earn" that capital? A Bath has Gold / Influence +3. (Assuming Take 10 again) I can either pocket the 1.3gp OR spend 15gp to earn 1 Influence. For some reason, I'm struggling to get my head around these rules. Cheers,

![]() Hi Folks, Lately I've had the urge to play around with the Skyrim Creation Kit. I had all sorts of ideas on what to do, when inspiration hit: use the CK to create in-game images for our Kingmaker campaign. I recently upgraded my video card to a GTX770, so I'm running K ENB to get the depth of field & lighting effects. Keep in mind I'm not an artist in any way, shape or form, but I am an ex-draftsman who used to use AutoCAD & 3DSMax for a living, so I have some idea of what I'm doing :) Here's some of the results: (1920x1080p images ahead...) Possible Spoilers:
Hope you like them! Cheers,
