Sovereign Court

Late last week I came to the realization that where Galt is the land of the eternal French Revolution, Rahadoum is the land of the eternal Spanish Inquisition, with country rather than God guiding their hand.

So I come here to ask if any of you have campaigned in Rahadoum and if any of you guys have tried running an inquisition of sorts. How did it go and do any of you guys have any advice?

My only frame of reference for this kind of thing is a couple sessions of a few guard campaigns and half a Dark Heresy campaign, but it fits to a degree, though with a much less cosmopolitan kind of cast.

Are you a party of 4 with 15 point buys using a core race adhering to wealth by level? I see 5, with some of the power races among them, but I don't know your point buy or wealth. Just having 5 means 20% less xp.

No? Then being a level behind places you right about where you ought to be. Two levels behind may be rougher.

My advice is to don't bother with xp and level when the book says so at just about a level or so behind, depending on how far your PC's are above the curve.

All other things being equal...if tou still want xp, then the GM should throw some random encounters at your group.

They're behind on WBL because they don't loot things, I'll come up with something clever for the handing of items that might upset our party's paladin. My intention is to throw extra encounters at them so they aren't decimated by Iobarian Giants.

There's something far more satisfying about XP in my opinion. But I like crunch and aside from a couple story rewards in the market district I didn't miscalculate any XP.

Aaaaand that's how I'm going to portray Erastil from now on. Thank you.

Erastil is basically Hank Hill.

And as for the walls of text up above. He raises good points, but he's going to be downboated, banned or have his posts deleted because of caps, bold text and he was kind of being a dick about the way he posted stuff.

Also, if there's anything JJ has learned over the past couple of weeks, the pathfinder community hates retcons and errata.

Maneuvers themselves do not, but boosts+stances and a full attack can do ridiculous damage.

Er but the issue is people see "Woah, that's 4d6s plus your base damage at fifth level as a standard action, that might make you slightly stronger than a 2h rogue!"

Malwing, at lower levels and higher levels with the right build (BB/PF which should be getting a powerlevel errata soonish? I know Gareth's watching this thread) you unleash far too many dice for most creatures to handle.

Some people have issue with 'infinite spells.' Though a more genuine issue would be infinite healing and infinite teleportation outside of combat.

And others are butthurt that their wizards aren't speshul ne moar.

Estoc's new and nifty.
