Was there a Kickstarter announcement that went out about this blog? I checked my email and I didn't get one. I think it would be in GW best interest to send one out as it might wake some of their backers up. Those backers might get more involved again and perhaps convince more friends who missed the Kickstarter to buy more EE spots. Just a suggestion.

1000 times yes.
CR is something I've been dreading the most about this game. I really like what you have laid out here. A lot. I feel like dying still sucks in your system, but it won't have me in crybaby tantrums as much as I fear the current system might. (I do recognize them as tantrums and I do recognize that a lot of people just suck it up and don't have a problem with CR. I'm just not as good of a person as them :( )
I'm glad your found your way over to our forums Ashgan! Even if you are on the fence you are more than welcome to come over and join us if just to get a feel for the group and decide if you want to stay. We have fallen into a bit of a hibernation. There are flurries of activity whenever juicy bits of game details are announced. I think it is mostly a defense mechanism to not drive ourselves insane with the waiting. A good numbers of us still stop by the forums everyday just to check for new posts. If you say hi in the welcome thread or ask questions in any of the Ring threads I'm sure you'll get lots of answers!
I think you might be right with that speculation. I convinced three friends to back with me, and not one of them has been back to the forums once the polls weren't active. I do think stopping the voting when they did was a good move though. We really needed more information before making decisions. That being said, I would love to see polls going up more regularly. I think they really help the lurkers come out of our shells.
While I certainly see value in the Pitfighter being adapted to a training option, it is the actual act of fighting against another PC that I personally need. That being said, I think a decent sized portion of players might be pen and paper fans being drawn into their first MMO. In their cases having the Pitfighter stay open as a sort of training ground to get used to basic combat mechanics could be extremely valuable. Is the pitfighter tool still in the works btw?

As one of the people who is quite hesitant of the PVP situation, I would actually really like this to happen. I think giving people like myself a training situation with a mild degree of safety would be greatly appreciated.
Lifedragn you are more than welcome to join in the general conversations! I would just ask that you always sign at the bottom of your posts that you are one of the ambassador's from TEO. The better our diplomats get to know each other in the year or so we have sitting around the easier it will be to avoid those minor contentions all together. We are currently of a decent size, but not large enough to be considered one of the "zerg" built groups. We will defend out rights to resources, but we aren't going to be going about taking them from others. We won't be the aggressors, but I think it is safe to say we don't want to be pushovers either.

I'd expect, all things being equal, that it might be better/easier for a settlement to have each company with a somewhat clear role. So some companies are crafters, some are long-haul merchants, some are military or adventurers. A settlement could have multiple companies of any one type. This is certainly something I find interesting to think about. It was something we had already been planning on in the Keepers of the Circle. I think we will be very interested to see how this kind of strategy would work out. The fact that we cannot currently combine influence across companies might cause a problem though.
I think NPCs having flavored text is a wonderful thing to have. It can be done in such a way and still be PG-13 as well. It can be as simple as an elf giving another elf a warm and respectful greeting, yet giving a human a cold greeting. If you play an alien race on the Imperial side of SWTOR be prepared to be called scum at least once every other quest conversation (that's an exaggeration).
I'm not sure if this will be a mechanic that is on a priority list for the launch of EE. I'm not aware of any PnP class that gets transformative powers from level 1. I am very interested in the stealth capabilities of Wild Shape. It would be really nice to be able to turn into a bird, and look like a bird that appears in the background instead of having a special this is clearly a druid trying to be a bird model. There should be some way for players to be able to work out the difference between a bird and a druid-bird, but it should not be (I really should phrase it as I would like it to not be) plainly apparent with no effort.
As much as I would like to start my Druid with her companion from day 1, I recognize I can find and bond with an animal later. It is much less desirable to change race after starting a character. I do not know the developing process, and I do not know if asking for all core races is equivalent to the other options on crowdforging poll #2. That being said I would fully support this as an option. Even though my race is already included, and I want to play an animal companion class, I want to see my friends be able to make the characters they want to be from day 1.
Raythos, there are a few in the Ring of Iron, with others thinking of it as a secondary option, but we certainly can use more with Iron as their primary focus. I strongly encourage you to wander on by our forums and see just how awesome the Ring of Iron people are so far.
