This little activity has launched to some success in TEO and T7V threads, so I decided to pop in here and suggest it to your esteemed group. Maybe pull some of your lurkers out to make a post or two. If you do not like the idea, feel free to ignore it.

The Keepers of the Circle Qualities A-Z game rules: Starting from A and then moving to B, C, D, etc... all the way to Z - members will list one by one traits, qualities, or activities they would like to see expressed by their own organization. The same user should not post twice in a row to consume neighboring letters and try to let some time pass for the less active members and lurkers to jump in as well before posting to the end. The same user can post multiple times, just remember this is not a race to the end and is meant to be fun for as many members who care to participate. Let the game begin! Or not, if that is your choice.

Goblin Squad Member

Hi uhm is the Company still recruiting and if so where on the boards do I go to sign up?

Goblin Squad Member

If you leave a note here, one of their senior members is likely to lurk and find it. You may also want to try registering for their proboards. Activity has definitely dropped for this group, but I think they still exist.

Goblin Squad Member

Can't say I blame them, I've been holding off even looking much at the forums or anything more then the blog for fear of getting over excited, and lo I commited the great sin and looked on the boards.

Goblin Squad Member

There is still a long wait ahead. But at the very least, you gave them a thread bump!

Heh. Yeah, I made that "mistake" in January of 2012, and I'm still "suffering" for it.

For the record, I don't think it was actually a "mistake", and I wouldn't call what I'm feeling "suffering" either :)

Goblin Squad Member

welp I was considering the ring of light but after reading their doctrin it sounds like a church and worse was when I read about donations this killed any enthusiasm I had when I read
"Neutral Good Role: Maximize freedom of choice while respecting the Non Aggression Principle"

I'm still considering joining but I'm just gona fence sit for now.

Edit: Maybe join Ring of crystal as a cleric or druid but I'm not very inclined on Light as of right now.

Goblin Squad Member

I cannot speak much to the individual circles as I am from a different company. But I like what these folks are pursuing. I dropped a note on their proboards forum about your interest.

Goblin Squad Member

I'm glad your found your way over to our forums Ashgan! Even if you are on the fence you are more than welcome to come over and join us if just to get a feel for the group and decide if you want to stay.

We have fallen into a bit of a hibernation. There are flurries of activity whenever juicy bits of game details are announced. I think it is mostly a defense mechanism to not drive ourselves insane with the waiting.

A good numbers of us still stop by the forums everyday just to check for new posts. If you say hi in the welcome thread or ask questions in any of the Ring threads I'm sure you'll get lots of answers!

Goblin Squad Member

Yep, welcome to the forums and can I say you would be most welcome in Crystal should you decide that is the place for you :)

I see you found your way to the board yourself but should there be other lurkers interested, the board is at http://keepersofthecircle.proboards.com/index.cgi

On the point of the Circle of Light sounding like a church, that sounds not unreasonable to me. A bunch of clerics would fairly naturally form something like a church!

Goblin Squad Member

Welcome ...

I personally have been off playing EVE while we wait, I think a few other members are doing the same.

Expect things to pick up pace again once we are closer to the day.

Goblin Squad Member

With Alpha theoretically a few months away we should expect to see flurries of activity cropping up soon.

Goblin Squad Member

We look forward to seeing you active again!

Goblin Squad Member

Activity is always nice.

Tried it, people don't generally seem that interested in the topics of conversation that interest me. This results in me spending my time talking to myself. Right now the only real topic of conversation people have much interest in is how to balance hitting each other over the heads with swords. While I am much more interested in less direct forms of PVP conflict.

Activity is nice because it brings a wider variety of of thoughts opinions and interests to the table.

Goblin Squad Member

Being active is not passive. It is useless to watch water boil unless you are actively doing something with it such as cooking.

May I suggest describing non-PvP topics of interest to you in new threads you activate, and make them inviting and thought provocative. I promise you I will at least read them if not contribute.

More significantly, others may do so as well.

Goblin Squad Member

I am definitely a fan of topics less related to direct combat PvP.

Goblin Squad Member

I've mainly just been perusing the various topics myself. I too will be curious on finding more about the non combat stuff. Particularly since one of my characters (ie Falita) is based on a Pathfinder character of mine and was a dancer. I would be curious to see if musical or other sort of entertainment will be viable in Pathfinder Online.

Hear, hear! I made a New Year's resolution to be more active here, but I just cannot bring myself to wade into the PvP threads.

I try to follow the PvP stuff, largely to ensure they don't run off on some unexpected direction without being called out. But they move so fast these days that I have difficulty keeping up anymore.

As for musical or other sorts of entertainment, let us hope so! I know we have a few bards-to-be in TEO. Perhaps we can collaborate in the future to make a musical crowd-forging push such that we can get some fun things in there that do not always have to be combat related.

I found myself actually smiling and feeling good about the community while reading Pax Keovar's response to something I'd written. I could do with a lot more of that...

I am definitely willing to help with getting music/entertainment more attention. Anything that sets the mood to help with immersion play is good in my book!

Goblin Squad Member

I admit that I have not been paying particular attention to everything that's been going on, however, I just popped in and noticed that there's some sort of land rush taking place shortly: https://goblinworks.com/blog/the-map/.

Are we getting involved in this? Should we be putting together some strategery? If there are things I need to know to catch up and participate, I'd appreciate the help.

Goblin Squad Member

I agree that we should be looking into this. Since the blog just came up, there hasn't been any activity yet. I'll link the blog to our boards to give those folks checking only there and not here a heads up.

Goblin Squad Member

Howdy Cal, Coug,

Yes we like all of the other larger guilds will need to hash out a 1-10 top picks list. If the map stays consistent with what is in the vlog there are some pretty choice places that are going to go very fast. Hop on over to the proboards and lets all discuss.

Goblin Squad Member

I think the fact that the Goblin Store has Month 1 of Early Enrollment currently listed as June 2014 (like right around the corner!!!!) might also wake up a lot of the sleepers.

Goblin Squad Member

Looks like I'll have to start being active again.

Goblin Squad Member

Hark is back and the Landrush is up!

Exciting times all around! Welcome back Hark!

Charter: Ring Of Earth

The ring of Earth is the true Foundation of the Circle, it is with the resources we gather that the rest of the Circle depends. We will organize mining, logging, farming and other resource gathering operations with the support of the other rings. The quality of materials we gather will directly effect the quality of goods the Ring of Iron will produce. This in turn will effect the quality of gear at the disposal of the rest of the Circle, Finlay affecting the effectiveness of the Circle to Defend out Camps and Caravans. It is also the job of the Ring of Earth to construct Walls and Structures for the Circle as needed.

Missions
Scouting - Find locations for our Harvesting Camps.
Harvesting - Gather resources to provide to the crafters and builders of the Circle. This includes Mining, Logging, Farming and other Harvesting operations.
Materials Transport - Get our resources to where the rest of the Circle needs it, be it a workshop or the construction of a settlement.
Storage - Store excess resources where it can be quickly transported at need.
Selling - Designate allotments of excess resources for sale outside the Circle to provide funds for the Circle.
Construction - Construct and manage supply for the construction of Circle Structures.

Other Rings
Crystal - Critical for defense of our Camps and Caravans.
Earth - This is us.
Gold - May create trade partners for our resources to sell excess resources and trade for resources we may be short on. May assist with fundraisers as needed to fund resource gathering expiditions.
Iron - Our main customers, we are the primary source of materials for the Ring of Iron to produce Goods for the Circle.
Light - Critical for defense of our Camps and Caravans.
Shadow - Critical for defense of our Camps and Caravans.
Steel - Critical for defense of our Camps and Caravans.
Wood - May assist in finding locations to set up camps for gathering resources, also critical for defense of our Camps and Caravans.

Ranks

Guardian - The Guardian of Earth will provide guidence for the Ring, assist in aquiring Circle resources and deisgnate responsibilities for Wardens within the Ring. The Guardian also may give special titles within the Ring. The Guardian of Earth also has all the rights and responsibilities of a Warden of Earth.

Wardens - Wardens of Earth make up the main driving force for resource gathering operations. They set up and manage official operations for the Ring and can make direct requests to other Rings for assistance with official operations. Wardens may Vote in all Ring matters.

Keepers - Keepers of Earth are primarily assistants when it comes to Offical operations but may also set up and manage personal operations and request assistance from Wardens and other Keeprs of Earth with those operations. A Keeper that has been in the Ring for sufficient time may be allowed to run an Official operation under the supervision of a Warden. If a Keeper requires assistance from other Rings for an operation they are planning they should go through a Warden. Keepers may voice opinions on all Ring matters and may recieve a Vote on some Ring matters.

Initiates* - Initiates may participate in Official operations and personal operations as they wish. They may request assistance from Keepers and Wardens for personal operations. Initiates may voice thier opinions on most Ring matters. They do not recieve a Vote on any Ring matters.

*Initiate is not a true Rank within the Ring of Earth but more of a level of participation within the Ring. An Initiate is any member of the Keepers of the Circle that expresses interest in the Ring of Earth but is not a Keeper or higher ranked member of the Ring. Even the Sentinal can be concidered an Initiate in the Ring of Earth when not acting in an official Sentinal capacity. As a matter of respect they should be refered to by their rank within thier primary Ring.

Membership in other Rings

You may be a Keeper in any Rings you wish, it is highly recommended to also become a Keeper of Steal or Crystal for defense. Due to our close relationship with the Ring of Iron many members of the Ring of Earth will likely be members of the Ring of Iron.

Personal vs. Circle Business

Personal Business as it relates to the Ring of Earth is defined as gathering of resources for personal use where the end products do not go to members of the Circle but are instead used for Personal Profit.
Circle Business as it relates to the Ring of Earth is defined as gathering of resources for Circle use, or for personal use where the end products go to members of the Circle or are Sold and at least 50% of the Profit is given to the Circle.

Personal vs. Circle Resources

Personal Resources are resources you acquired using your own funds or skill, or your share of resources acquired during a Circle operation.
Circle Resources are resources acquired from the Circle's pool of resources and may include the services of other Keepers of the Circle.

Operations and Camps

Gathering large amounts of resources will require building camps and running the harvesting operation out of the camp. This is expected to require multiple people over the course of multiple days. These will usually be Circle operations, but we may occasionally work with other organizations. Full Details are yet to be worked out, in part because we do not know enough about how Harvesting camps will work.

Members of the Ring of Earth may run personal harvesting operations, but they must be run using personal resources. If you use Circle resources you should donate a portion of the harvest to the Circle as compensation. The amount of the harvest you should give to the circle depends on the amount of Circle resources you used. Most of the time, this will need to be a personal judgment on your part, but in some situations the Circle may need a minimum amount of compensation.

With all your circles, how would a crafter, aristocrat, or cleric role fit in?

Hi Lam!

Warden (Officer) of the Rings of Gold and Earth here!

As for crafting goes you would find a good home in our Earthen Ring, but you would best be suited towards joining our Ring of Iron, who will serve as our quartermasters, craftsman, builders, and pioneers.

Aristocracy and the like will likely fall under our Ring of Gold owing to the fact it is our primary rulership/diplomacy/international trade organization.

Clerics could find a home in any given ring to be quite honest, given your personal interest in the activities involved. For example a Cleric would be best suited toward our Ring of Light, focused on holy work, charity, and divine spellcasting specialists. On the other hand you could VERY easily fit in with our warring of Ring of Steel if your playstyle is such that you are more interested in the prospect of defending the homeland, or purging frequent escalation cycles with our team of elite combatants as a healer (Every group needs them).

If you are interested in more information you should check out our guest forum page with much more detail and information that I'm willing to really type out here, simply due to amount of it.

We are quite interested in new members, as well as anyone looking for a kind of diplomatic outreach to get to know their neighbors better.

I hope this was helpful.

I know I have been terribly, horribly inactive, but I promise I wasn't eaten by displacer beasts or anything. I am back, and along with several other founders (Aggra, Leo, Cal, etc) we should be much more active.

I do apologize and must congratulate Cougar, Nymerias, Lorhayden, Hark, ChaiGuy, and all for doing more than their fair share to keep everything running.

Besides, maybe putting the half-orc in charge was a bad idea in the first place. ;)
