Just so I'm not remembering wrong, but isn't there a feat that allows you to use LoH's at range? I thought I read a feat that turns it into like a 30 ft. range or something. Can anyone confirm if such a feat exists and which book my memory is failing to find it in?

Thank you

Silver Crusade

Arcane Surge forces non-mythic target(s) to roll their saves twice and choose the lower value rolled, as does True Archmage, and Spell Focus (Mythic) if a caster chooses to expend a use of Mythic Power.

If a someone with True Archmage used Arcane surge(1 use of Mythic Power) to cast a spell which benefited from Spell Focus(Mythic), and expended another use of MP, are we looking at a target or targets rolling four saves and taking the lower value?

Was the lack of any form of DR an oversight?

I'm curious to find out how others feel about XP and the Intelligence stat. Since intelligence is basically one's potential for learning and also dealing with the processing of information, could or should it be appropriate to assign an XP penalty for those with below normal intelligence?

If so, then I'm also curious as to what degree that should be taken. Since an Int of 8-9 provides a -1 modifier, would a 5% XP penalty be appropriate and be a cumulative 5% for every modifier category below that?

It may seem like a punishment to those who have created a good background, but choices do have consequences. If someone wanted to make a powerful warrior, as an example, with high strength and constitution which both are of great benefit to most martials; is it also fair to say that since they want to handicap their Int to have great scores in the other stats that there would be bad with that good?

Again, I'm just curious about how other folks feel about such a question.

I apologize if this has already been asked in another thread, I don't like beating a dead horse any more than you guys ;)

I would like to get your input regarding the use of Wish and the granting of a feat.

With what a Wish can grant with RAW, is it within the power of a single Wish to grant a permanent feat? Or should a feat, if granted, remain temporary/usable x times per day?

To have a permanent feat granted, 1 Wish to grant it initially and a second for permanence?

A lot of you folks have much more experience with handling Wish in PF than I do, what do you folks think?

Hey folks, after looking at different classes that deal with necromancy such as the Witch, Wizard specialized in it and the Bones mystery Oracle, i started to wonder if a more pure necromancer concept was possible.

Considerations at this point:
1) This Necromancer would be allowed access to all necromancy spells regardless of whether they are Arcane or Divine.

2) Is there a precedence in PF that makes #1 feasible?

3) Some of the abilities of the Bones Mystery seem applicable, but i don't want a copy/paste.

4) Conjuration would seem part and parcel regarding the Summon spells, replace with undead appropriate to the power of the Summon Monster sort of thing.

5) Might it be a better option to go the route of a Charisma based ability for the concept, similar to the Sorcerer?

6) Considering earlier access to Animate Dead and the Create Undead spells.

7) Give the Necromancer abilities that either increase saving throws to ability drain/energy drain effects or immunities.

8) Thinking of leaving the weapons/armor use stuff as a wizard would have.

9) Would an Aura be appropriate, something akin to the Aura of Life(Su) given to the Undead Scourge from the APG?

10) Does making his/her abilities more difficult to resist make sense for the concept or just rely on spell focus and greater spell focus?

That's all i got for now, but basically pure necromancer with a touch of conjuration is my original thought. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, i just wanted some quick clarification on how far Mythic Tiers will actually go.

In reading through Mythic spells, i came across Meteor Swarm and noticed the Greater Effect section. If starts with if you are at least a 10th-tier Mythic character...and so on.

Is tier 10 not going to be the limit for Mythic tiers?

Hope this is appropriate for the general discussion section.

I spent a good amount of time conducting a back and forth with my GM for Pathfinder regarding ideas for new spells and/or new magic items. He essentially wants nothing to do with anything that is not from a PF book. That set me back a bit mainly due to my desire to be creative, essentially add something new and different to the game. Having been a GM for prior versions of D&D, i recognized that creativity is an inherent part of the game. If i made a decision to disallow something in the game, i made sure to explain my reasoning. The ability to do that came from a lot of experience as a player and lord knows i am not perfect or infallible. When a GM flatly states that nothing new to the game will even be considered for viewing, i have to think that the two plausible reasons are either the person simply being lazy, or more likely, they may not trust in their own ability to adjudicate a new spell or magic item concept. The former i can do nothing to help with, the latter requires practice, which i am more than willing to help out with. I even tried to explain that various versions of D&D and Pathfinder itself encourage that sort of creativity. I added that, as mentioned above, that creativity is inherent for people, more so i would guess for gamers, and even more so for games such as D&D and PF. He had mentioned that the general jist he got from various threads about the things i discussed with him was that i was a minority. Am i truly in a minority of players that seek to create something new?

I want to mention also that if this reads as more of a gripe session, i want to apologize, that was not my intent. I wanted to give some background into what my concerns were and i am truly curious to find out if i represent only a small percentage of players. Am i asking to much of a GM to be allowed these opportunities from time to time?

Hey folks, i just wanted to post a number of ways i would handle various wishes that were not listed in the spell description. Some of these were ideas that others have shared on the message boards. I got a general idea that for some, Wish was a headache waiting to happen, hopefully, this may help some, but take my suggestions with a grain of salt. I put a bit of humor and comical sarcasm for a number of these, just an FYI ;)

What other effects can a wish have outside of what's listed under the description?
-Increased wealth; Although this is a situation that should never come up, if a character actually find him/herself low on coin, a Wish can be used to gain an amount of wealth not to exceed 25,000 GP. The reason is two-fold: 1) 25,000 GP is still a significant amount of wealth. Consider, the average cost of living for characters is listed at 10 GP/Month. That character could live comfortably for 2,500 months or just over 208 years.2) It also keeps potential abuse away from the players. You may think, "Why not 50,000 GP, that's not game breaking is it?" Yes and no, 50,000 GP could potentially be converted into two 25,000 GP diamonds. "Did someone say wish for more wishes?"

-Magic Items; Seriously?......Enough said.
-Increase in BAB, AC, CMB, CMD, Initiative etc; Just follow the guidelines for inherent bonuses, from a +1 to +5 based on the number of wishes used in immediate succession.
-Wishing for a castle, tower or keep etc; Ok, i think this can be handled logically in two different ways: 1)The power of a wish could be used to create a dwelling whos total value does not exceed 25,000 GP. Call it a castle if you like ;)2)Or, the wish can create up to 25,000 GP's worth of material used for the construction of a dwelling.
-Spell resistance; Don't overthink this, it's actually a simple fix, costly for the caster, but simple. 1)A single wish can grant an SR of 1/2 character level +5. 2)Two wishes can grant an SR of character level +5.
-Damage reduction; Again, following the guidelines for inherent bonuses, a DR of 1/- to 5/- or any variation /magic, /silver, whatever the DM is comfortable with. Yes, any DR from a wish stacks with any existing DR.
-Spells; If the minimum caster level for wish is 17th, and that individual wishes for more spells, just ROFL at the player for never bothering with spell research. Or just pat him on the head ;)
-Spell slots/spells known/spells per day; Bear with me folks while i try to word this correctly <not comical sarcasm, being honest>. I would handle the wish thusly; One wish will grant a single spell slot, spells known or spells per day of a spell level of up to the highest spell level that caster can cast/know/per day minus 1. So at 17th level for a wizard, a wish can grant a spell slot of up to 8th level.

Again, the humor is deliberate, most of us i'm sure have had various types of silly wish experiences throughout our gaming experience, but the suggestions i made should be helpful to some i hope.

As a side note, although some of these may raise some eyebrows at first blush, remember the cost associated with a wish. Unless 25k diamonds are fairly easy to come by in your game worlds, this should not present a major issue. Thank you folks for your time and if any of these suggestions help you, i'm glad to be of service :)
