I was wondering which style of fighting would be more beneficial to slayer with the bounty hunter archetype that is focused on dirty trick.

With two-weapon fighting you get more attacks which for this archetype means more dirty tricks(if the enemy is flat footed or flanked. The attack rolls take a huge hit though especially when you go into improved two-weapon fighting which could ruin the chances of beating CMD, especially with high CR monsters.

Two handed on the other hand(pun unintended) is more likely to hit and does not hurt the CMB in anyway but gets less attacks overall and half as much use from dirty trick master as TWF.

I've been looking at the Unchained Rogue and I am liking what I see so far. A definite improvement over the old rogue and being able to actually use the rogue archetypes is the icing on the cake. Naturally I plan to shift a rogue I had into an unchiained rogue but I need to know what would be good feats to select besides the ones I've already decided to go with.

Human with the focused study racial, Rogue Unchained no archetype.

Ability Scores:

STR: 10

DEX: 16

CON: 14

INT: 14

WIS: 10

CHA: 14

Feats:

(Keep in mind, I am not listing them by the order with which I'll get them.)

1. Two-Weapon Fighting

2. Improved Two-Weapon Fighting

3. Two-Weapon Feint

4. Improved Two-Weapon Feint

5. Iron Will

6. Improved Critical(short swords)

7.

8.

9.

10.

Combat Trick Talent:

Feat Advanced Talent:

and last but not least the Weapon Training Rogue Talent with short swords.

I am going for dual wielding short swords, and was hoping to get this rogue something to fall back on should sneak attacking the enemy not become an option, something like debuffing foes or assisting other party members.

We've just lost our GM and we're hoping of finding another person to share in the enjoyment of our modest virtual gaming table.

Our group greatly enjoys RP, we don't shy away from combat and are looking forward to continue going through this AP together, so we are naturally looking for a GM who enjoys a lot of RP, this of course is doubly important for an AP like Jade Regent; because of all of the NPC interactions that will happen, that also means that we require a GM who will at least be able to post two to three times a day, to keep things moving at a decent pace. Here is the game play thread.

Last but not least potential gms, here are the victims...errr characters:

Apex Stormshard: Sylph Wizard
Avan the Aloof: Human Monk
Galford Dao: Rogue Tengu
Irnk, Prodigal of Old Deadeye: Goblin Paladin
Sybil Vekker: Dwarf Alchemist

Please feel free to ask us any questions that you might have.

Hello, I did a quick search of the forum and found no threads comparing the pros and cons of both of these feats when it comes to sneak attacks.

On one hand Shatter Defenses, the good thing about it is I don't have to use a full attack to get its affect, I could simply use Dazzling Display or a normal demoralize check, but I've noticed that enemies become exceedingly difficult to demoralize and some gain fear immunity outright(Is afflicting an enemy with shaken through demoralize affected by immunity to fear effects?)

Improved TW Feint, I have yet to see anything that was immune to feinting, the problem with this is that I have to be next to the opponent or only 5 feet away to use a full attack and get this(And then there is also the fact that I have to sacrifice one of my attacks to use it).

Finally I could get both, but of course its going to take some intensive feat taxes. I am not going for pure optimization here, and both fit the flavor of the character I am playing.

This is what I had in mind as a feat build if I took both:

1-Combat Expertise
2-Improved Disarm (I know not that good of a maneuver and very questionable on a rogue, purely flavor)
3-Persuasive (Using lots of Diplomacy outside of combat, and not to mention boosting intimidate)
4-TWF
5-Improved TWF
6-Greater Disarm (Might as well go the whole way eh?)
7-Dazzling Display (Weapon Focus through rogue talents)
8-Shatter Defenses
9-Two Weapon Feint
10-Imp Two Weapon Feint
Human extra feat-Skill Focus(Bluff) (Why bother with feinting without this)
Combat Feat rogue talent-Greater TWF
feat rogue talent-Combat Reflexes

Oh and he's a rogue with no archetype.
