Yes isn't the rule that meets it beats it? Meaning the one roling wins the tie. If a monster tries to hit you and rolls your AC, it hits you. Nella surges forward to attack serpentine foes, taking on her lupine form and leaping over the noxious flowers as she lunges, jaws snapping, at the serpent threatening Dwalar. I certainly have the ability as a wolf to leap over the flowers but not sure whether or not I can stand there without activating them. Will try! DC 13 str save or prone for red giant snake.

I guess I'll forgo my readied action since my friends are over there. Wild shape as a bonus action. Nella roars and charges forward to the man who tried to entrap them. As she moves, she shifts her form into that of a hulking wolf and strikes at the fellow as soon as Dwalar comes close to threaten him as well. I'd like to strike him just as Dwalar comes up so I can have adv on my attack from pack tactics and potentially trip him for Dwalar to whale on him. Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
If I hit, the man should make a DC 13 str save to avoid being knocked prone.

Anyone up for this Ghostwise Halfling drinking game? Back at the Thundering Lizard, Nella disappears in her room and comes back with a pouch of small, smooth stones. She smiles broadly at whichever of her friends are up for some celebratory libations and sets down a number of stones in the middle of the table one less than the number of participants. Then she walks over to the bartender and speaks quietly to him for a few moments. His eyes grow wide and he scratches his head a couple of times before nodding and heading into the back. He comes back out after a few minutes with a gray jug and Nella passes him a few silvers then returns to the table, carrying the jug which is humorously over-sized for her and several small ceramic cups. This game is Lyndiron. Whoever doesn't get a stone must take a drink. With some help, she places the large jug and cups on the side of the table out of the way and arranges the stones in a circle at the middle of the table. She shows her companions how to rest with their hands below the level of the table and chant "one, two, three" in Halfling before trying to seize a stone for themselves. Whoever gets the lowest dex check has to take a drink and make a DC 10 con check. Failure you means you pass out and lose. It's strong stuff. For every drink you've had, you take a -1 penalty on the dex check and on the con check. With her companions, Nella chants Ani, dor, yut! and attempts to snatch a stone. Dex check to snatch a stone: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Uh oh! Looks like Nella might be drinking first! XD

Tired from the exertion and the weight of their decision, Nella begins heading back to the Thundering Lizard. But the sheer joy of dinosaur races and victory don't allow her to drag her feet for long. Soon, she is scampering through the streets and investigating every sight. Her gleaming white teeth rip into her foe, seeking to send him to the dust of the arena. If he's still up, he'll need to make a DC 13 strength save to avoid being knocked prone by the bite.
