Hey everyone,

I seem to have found an incongruity in CotR that doesn't make much sense to me. Tanagaar's third Celestial Obedience boon grants +3d6 sneak attack and +2 damage per SA die with piercing weapons (pg. 25). However, in the table at the start of the book, Tanagaar's favored weapon is listed as the kukri, which is a slashing weapon. Why is this the case? It doesn't make much sense to me to have a deity's favored weapon be excluded from their own obedience boons...

Thanks in advance.

Say I have a non-human character who obtains a ring of three wishes. Would it be a viable use of the wish spell to permanently (acting as a spell with a duration of 'instantaneous' rather than 'permanent' - wouldn't want this dispelled, of course!) gain the benefits of the human Skilled trait (1 skill rank per level), effective retroactively?

Thanks.

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering what a good name for a use of the Profession skill centered around forensic investigation would be ('forensic investigator' sounds anachronistically modern) or even if such a skill could be better represented by other skills.

What do you all think?
Thanks in advance.

Suppose I have a +1 seeking dagger, which lets me ignore miss chances. If I use this weapon to make a melee attack, do I still gain the benefits of seeking and automatically ignore miss chances?

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

The wording for concentration checks says that "when you make a concentration check, you roll d20 and add your caster level and the ability score modifier used to determine bonus spells of the same type." Does this count, per RAW, as an 'ability check' (and as such is able to be improved by, say, luckstones or pale green prism ioun stones)?

Thanks!

Suppose I have a wondrous item that only functions for a particular race, and I employ my Use Magic Device skill to emulate that race. How is this adjudicated per RAW? Do I only need to make a single check, or do I have to make checks every round/hour or whatever?

Thanks!

Suppose I have two ebon wayfinders (Seekers of Secrets) on my person, one of which is slotted with two ioun stones (thereby suppressing its darkvision and darkness abilities), while the other is empty. Does the empty wayfinder still give me darkvision and darkness as normal?

Hey everyone, I was just looking at Larloch's statistics in the 3.0 WotC supplement FR: Lords of Darkness and noted that he has two ioun stones that act as a +5 stone of good luck and a +5 pale green prism respectively. Monetary values for his items, however, are not included - what do you all suppose would be the proper value for each of these items according to RAW value estimations?

Thanks!

Suppose I'm a Wizard (with 5th-level spells) and I obtain a scroll of Imbue With Spell Ability, using it to imbue someone with spells (that both Clerics and Wizards obtain, from the schools noted in the spell) via a successful Use Magic Device check. Imbue With Spell Ability stipulates that once cast the user "cannot prepare a new 4th-level spell to replace it until the recipient uses the imbued spells or is slain". Would this cost the Wizard a 4th-level spell slot, since the character in question did not actually use a spell slot to cast the spell?
