Baldrech stalks the edge of the circle, clearly not listening to the banter. "One got away. Amateurs. Do whatever you need to do children, I will deal with the kobold." He crosses over to Whiteclaw. "Good work there. See you soon." It's the closest to approving any of you have seen from the shifter. So saying, the ranger eases into the trees and is soon out of sight.
His shifter blood rousing him to uncontainable fury, Baldrech hurtles towards Kobold 2, both longswords at the ready and slices into his scaled foe. Both blades strike, leaving appalling gaping wounds in the creature. It goggles down up at the shifter, unable to move or apparently believe the tornado of fury that just struck it.
The snickering kobolds at the far end of the circle are too much for Baldrech. Sprinting towards them, he attacks Kobold 2 with both longswords. His usual expertise is missing however and neither blade strikes home.
He swears unintelligibly.
Taking note of Gobi's words, and slashing contemptuously at Kobold 5 as he passes, Baldrech barely pauses to see the creature finally slump dead to the ground. Baldrech's two weapon attack on Kobold 5: (1d20 6=7, 1d8 3=8, 1d20 6=25, 1d8 3=10) Easing behind the altar, he looks down and what is probably a laugh emerges from the saturnine shifter. "Ha! Naked eladrin. What next?" He catches sight of Kobold 1 approaching from the other side. "Not this time." He bares his teeth and his longswords flicker menacingly. Behind the altar lies a trussed, blindfolded and gagged but otherwise nude eladrin. The usual elegance of the race is marred by a noticeable number of scrapes and bruises. Close by the altar and carefully out of reach of the prisoner lies a longsword of eladrin workmanship. The prisoner is looking extremely unhappy and unintelligible noises are coming from him.
Baldrech sidles up the edge of the path and aims his shortbow at the duergar. The shot goes wide and he bares his teeth, drawing his longsword and dagger, ready for close combat.
The shifter offers some more details to the group. "It's like this. The path widens a good bit before you arrive in a central clearing. I didn't see much, but the stone circle is there. Just before you reach the central clearing is a small pool. I think that's where they'll attack us. Good cover for them. Except we know they're there." concludes Baldrech grimly. "Some of them have good reason to fear us already." He loads his crossbow and prepares to move out. |
