Ain't it fun... Everybody wants something... Everybody... And when things need doin', they come an' get me... Whether it's the constable or shady types, it makes no difference to me, so long as the deal is fair and the folk I'm hunting deserve what's coming to 'em... Deal went sour and a thug needs to be tracked down for his brethren? Call Baldrech... Problems with marauding beasties in the woods? Call Baldrech... Missing children? Call Baldrech... Damsel in distress? Heh... No one calls, but I show up anyway... I just smile, because I seem to know more about everyone else's business than they know about mine, or about each other's... I've got my ear to the ground, and my nose to the wind... My grandmother's blood runs thick in my veins... She was one of them... One of the werefolk... Da' was one of the greatest huntsman to have ever lived in Lobraan... until his time came some months back... until the hunter lost one hunt, and lost his life...
Now whenever the constable, or the merchants, or the shady types need something, they look to me, for I am my father's son, I have my father's gift... and temperament... and slightly hairy features, and elongated fingers and fangs ("My, grandmother, what long fangs your children and their children have grown"... Although I don't look bad, if I may say so myself)... They come and find me, halfway between Hawk Hill and Karin, where the footbridge crosses the creek, close to my den... They come to find the twin blades... Melora's wrath... They know I'll get the job done, the way they want it done...
They call me "the Unkind," for I am ruthless (but don't get me wrong... death is only necessary if you deserve it, or if you resist a little too much)... and easy to anger... and don't take much to the company of fools... Although I do enjoy having a good woman from time to time... though they may not enjoy me as much, unfortunately... maybe that will change someday? But as I said, everybody wants something... and if I have a few coins in my pocket, they don't say no...
I'm open for business... Who's next?
