"I had not planned on excluding anyone," Shalelu says. "And three days' time sounds reasonable to me."

Three days hence, after speaking with Rhost and inviting everyone in the caravan (including all known sentient creatures) a party is thrown. Help would also have been solicited for anything that anyone would have thought to be appropriate.

Rhost:
I of course am totally assuming that you would be fine with coming up with something, menu wise. Let me know if this is not the case and we will see how badly Myri poisons everyone. ;)

<Ever ridden on a horse before? Quite different from flying I'm sure.> for some reason there is relief in Myri's tone. <Sorry, I'm a terrible judge of what people are feeling. For some reason, I thought maybe there was something that was really bothering you. So I made arrangements to get away for a little while, but it sounds like it was just me. ... ... um, if you ever do need some one to talk to, or at, I'll be here. I mean, I even got supplies you know? Thought I was being, watchu call it, proactive? Guess we can still enjoy a ride, right?>

Human Ranger

& best wishes and a lot of luck.

Human Ranger

Myri flashes a smile over her shoulder at Kalimac with a mouthed "thank you and..we will", the thoughts <I hope> don't reach her lips.

Human Ranger

Myriana smiles widely at Kalimac as she takes the bottle & at Rhost for his "Rhost's Brew". what quantity, please? She gives both of her friends a big bear hug (one at a time), "Thanks guys, I mean it, let me know what I owe you later 'kay?" She turns towards the Women's Wagon and quickly disappears inside...at least momentarily, before emerging and saddling up a horse. If Kalimac is still in the area she throws him a wink and a smile. Probably something to do with "riding horses"...or animals in general.

Human Ranger

Myri smiles fondly up at Rhost for his as usual sage and common sense advice. "Thank you, Rhost, I will."

Human Ranger

Lio:

btw, did Lio want to give Sandru his present before the Forest of Spirits?
Should it NOT be done during the joint bridal shower thing (assuming the whole caravan is invited) because it may detract from the two people being honored?
other thoughts?

Ameiko blinks. "I ... don't think that's been the purpose of bridal showers for a while now."

"I believe the intention was simply to have a party," Shalelu says.

"Really? Are you sure? But I thought... Myri looks a little pained and confused, then shakes her head, "Sorry," she snorts, and stares accusingly somewhere off in the distance towards the West, "guess that's what happens when you get taught human stuff by pixie's." she sighs, "Okay, party then. Do you have any particular day in mind that would make a diff' for you?"

"If not, how about in three days? & um, are we excluding the guys? I kinda hope not, since I much prefer Rhosts culinary skills to mine. Sorry, I don't really know what I'm doing if that wasn't already painfully obvious." she smiles a little abashedly.

Human Ranger

Myri's expression suddenly changes as she realizes she may have just started a rumor...and for something that is quite likely her own imagination. "No! I mean. Probably not. I don't know? Um, no, I'm sure it's just a drink between friends, but...maybe? Sorry, if there actually is something I need help with I'll ask, 'kay?" Myri is feeling a little hot, "Um, okay, change the question to "I don't really know what the situation is, and I don't really know for sure if there is something wrong, what should I do to feel things out and be prepared?"" She again looks at Kalimac and Rhost expectantly, almost like she's looking for advice from her older brothers.

Human Ranger

A baffled expression crosses Myri's face, "Um..I really don't know. But on the off chance, how much does it take to reach forgetfulness? For um, maybe two people?" She looks at Kalimac hopefully.

Human Ranger

Myri stops in her tracks, perhaps just a hint of relief in her face. She speaks quickly though, one sentence running into the next. "Oh, hi Kalimac Um, can you do me a favor? I know you normally have something strong to drink can I buy one off you? Please? Bottle, two, small cask, anything?"

Is there anything else I can help out with?>

<No, no, I'm fine,> Zaiobe replies.

She is clearly not fine. Something is upsetting her a great deal.

Myri's brow furrows and her mouth tightens just a touch, <Give me a minute, 'kay?> she squeezes Zaiobe's hand before releasing and moving quickly in the direction of the cook's wagon.

Rhost, Kalimac, Sandru, Buttersnips - whomever responds first:

Myriana heads purposefully across the caravan and towards the cooks wagon. If she sees Rhost, Kalimac, Sandru or Buttersnips along the way she stops in her tracks and greets them.

Kyra/Cooks wagon:

Myri enters without knocking (rather uncharacteristic for her) and begins to look for something strong to drink. Hopefully something that she actually recognizes.

Zaiobe:

Returning to the spot she left Zaiobe, Myriana appears in her normal traveling gear(like just about always), and leading one of the white Arabians the caravan was gifted with. She reaches towards Zaiobe, offering her hand. (& assuming it is taken) <I know you can fly. Doesn't matter. You're coming with me. Myriana approaches Shalelu and Ameiko, of course Lio would likely be there as well. She appears just a trifle nervous. "Hi Shae, 'meiko, Lio (if there, of course). Um, some quick questions, I think? I mean, I thought bridal showers were for like people who might have trouble providing or because the brides father didn't approve and withheld the dowry or something, and you're both obviously like uber capable, so um, what am I really doing here? Riding Attatoq, he leads the horse off into the distance, away from the prying eyes of the caravan.

Around five hours after helping Mel into the truck, Alaric emerges with Zaiobe and Reta, looking exhausted and overjoyed. He stops dead in his tracks at Rags, then shrugs, and scratches the rhino behind the ear, then leads him away from the wagon. Once he's a reasonable distance away from the family wagon, he comes to the fire. "Mel and the baby are fine. They're sleeping now. When she's ready to have visitors, you can go in one at a time."

Lio looks relieved that everything went well, and happily surprised that it was over so quickly.

"Thank ye Alaric." She tells him, for his sharing of the good news. Her smile is genuine. She's excited to meet Milena when Mel was feeling up to visitors later. "Rhost made dinner, did ye all wont some?" Lio asks the three exhausted people. A creek trickles from the grasslands into the forest at the spot where Miyaro takes you, the bank of the stream creating a trail through the evergreen woods just wide enough for the Caravan to travel along.

The forest is dark, the tall trees blocking the sun. An almost preternatural silence reigns over the area.

Ahead, at the very spot where the creek enters the forest, a small stone pillar engraved with strange symbols has fallen across the path, although it would be easy enough to go around it.

|It is a waymarker,| Miyaro says. |And a warning to those who would enter the Forest naively. Such markers often have guardian kami who watch over them - setting it upright and leaving an offering might gain us a blessing.|
