He's probably friendly to the party since they helped him rescue his boyfriend, Marquel, which means he's also the most likely candidate for the party to buy a ride from if they don't want to walk, so him being able to give exposition is an economical use of NPCs.

There's any number of reasons he would know about Vyre. He's a captain in the Chelaxian Navy which patrols the waters and could include port of calls in Vyre--which is a very Las Vegas style location where the elite of Cheliax go to have 'anonymous' fun. Sailors love to party on shore leave.

Maybe Sargaeta writes Travelogues in his spare time. He could be a font of knowledge about every port city in the Inner Sea.

Thanks for the answer, I think I haven't described my problem correctly (sorry English isn't my first language).

They don't have Sargaeta as a member of the council, why is he suddenly giving them advice without being contacted first. It seems like the book just assumes that he know's they're going to Vyre and shares his 5 cents

I can't for the life of me (I'm still a rookie DM), find why Sargaeta is the one giving them information about Vyre. I can't seem to find a lead up to him specifically being the one they use for information on the city, unless some of the members of The Silver Council has told them that they know that the Captain has had several visits to the city, which seems very unlikely.

I could use some help figuring this out.

Quick small question, Well actually two.

1. Do The Stairs go clock or counter-clockwise?

2. Is it correct that from 3rd to 4th floor there is a hugge gab from one end of The room to The other?

@ Entropi : I'm GM'ing skinsaw and my group is arriving at Magnimar next session. I'm a brand new gm and havent played pen&paper roleplay for more than one and a half year. I noticed your country (Denmark i assume) and I'd hope you'd wouldnt mind helping me out a bit with some questions. You can mail me at muniaxe(at)gmail dot com. Would really appriciate it.

Name: Larm / Cant remember
Class: rogue lvl 4 / cleric lvl 4
adventure: skinsaw
catalyst: random encounter

Well my group had just finished the haunted house and decided to camp outside before heading back to sandpoint and on second shift last hour i roll a random encounter and hit a 99% so well that means Treant. The group is alarmed and wakes up and actually stalls the treant long enough to everybody awakes but hes just too powerfull when the fighter havent got his armor on. The rogue gets a fullround atk and bones crack. The cleric charges faceforward into a AoO crit hit for just 4 under max dmg.

My grp of 5 people started 2nd book with jumping passed everything that should lead them to the manor and went straight away, so i thought okay fine you never know what hit you. So their searching the house hitting all the haunts 1 allmost dies by the scarf with a fail save roll. Anyways they come to the loft and when they hear the scream they head for the last door. Everyone standing in the narrow path with a dwarven warrior and human cleric hitting down the door.

Well cleric and undead never walks hand in hand so fight emerges, shes trying to reach the back of the grp. But they decide to enter the room with the burn haunt, well hello there with big panick killing the rev we have a guy jumping out the window only caught by the vines. The cleric the gets hit twice and hes down, im the kind of gm that wants them to have a nice time and that doesnt involve alot of rerolling chars so she heads for aldern in the basement but damn the chaos.
