I was building a character and contemplating taking the Vile Leadership feat when I noticed a certain lack of clarification; namely that Vile Leadership doesn't specify a base leadership score in the way the original does. Was this perhaps an oversight or does the vile form really differ that much from the original?

I don't know if I'm the first to mention this, I just find it hilarious that, according to this book, dwarves are an advanced race and not a standard race. Of the core races, the dwarves are the only ones who cost more than ten points to build (they cost eleven, according to the charts in the back). It's also funny that goblins cost more to build than hobgoblins, if you ask me (I know, nobody did, but it's fun to dream).

It means that Hide in Plain Sight is useless to you unless you get Favored Terrains from another class, such as Horizon Walker.

This is the closest answer we got. it doesn't call out shapeshifter, but they replace favored terrain and leave hide in plain sight.http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/v5748btpy8fo1/faq#v5748eaic9o7e

THANK YOU! You've been a great help!

I really enjoy this archetype and am in the process of making a character for it. However, when I look through the Core Rulebook and the Advanced Players Guide, I find myself in a quandary.
The Shapeshifter Archetype replaces "Favored Terrain," "Camouflage" and "Master Hunter." However, it leaves the ranger with "Hide in Plain Sight," an ability which can only be used within a ranger's favored terrain(s). Does the ranger still get "Hide in Plain Sight" and, if so, how can it be used without requiring a magic item (or altering the class/ability)?

I've searched through the rules section of the message boards and I've found no answers to this question (I've seen the question asked, but I haven't found an answer to it). If anyone has an explanation, I'd greatly appreciate an answer.
