I hope with the plan to allow only small amounts of players over time will weed out some of the rude, anti-social people seen in the general population of the games we have now. I know we have to deal with them in real life all the time but I really go out of my way to avoid them. You know the kind I mean. The kill stealing, in your face, rude people that go out of their way to make other peoples game time miserable because they find it "fun".

On the other hand, it would be nice to see a way for the players to dispense justice instead of the generic /report thing.

Just my 2cents for today

I never got mine from the last kickstarter. I followed the links sent me and gave my information. Have they not been sent out yet?

A player character has, for instance, 10k hp. The attacker does 1200 damage per swing/spell/whatever skill you want. It only takes 8 of them to kill the first toon. Most fights are over in less than 10 secs. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the skills do a more realistic damage amount and have a longer time between hits?

Also, silence and fear seem to be rather unfair skills if they can be used very often. Stun I can see if hit in a critical spot and armor could possibly guard against that.

I can understand your run of the mill toon shouldn't be using full plate armor but why do some classes always have to wear cloth and others can wear the more protective leather and still others wear chain or plate?

I am hoping maybe we will see something with the pvp in PO besides the standard, overused, and tired sneak up from behind and kill in 2 second strafing runs we have now.

MMOGAMES News

Pathfinder Online

Avid table-top RPG fans may have been the only ones to pick up on this project, which seemingly has been flying under the radar. Currently being developed by NeoWiz and Epic Games Korea, Pathfinder Online is set to be a hybrid of both Theme Park MMORPG and Sandbox MMORPG. Also, players will have the choice of either paying a subscription or playing for free with the option of cash shop purchases.

The sandbox side of this MMO will include a robust player-controlled trading system, player-crafted items, dynamic fortifications, and player-controlled settlements which can grow into massive kingdoms. The developer is claiming that as a players settlement grows, the environment around them will adapt and change with it. A release date is yet to be announced but this title is expected to release in 2013.

I read the blogs and like most of what I read, but I am still unclear on how pvp fits in the game. Is everyone able to jump on everyone else any time they feel the need and don't mind the built in consequences?

Also, I am assuming that a mage in this game is about the same as a mage in other mmo's and deals massive damage via spell casting and may have the ability to target more than one enemy (area effect stuffs). If the mage is able to damage any pc at any time won't that make for damaging your own buddies if they are a bit close? Or even yourself if the enemy gets too close to you? I haven't seen that in a game in a long, long time. Would make for some interesting play. =)

When crafting was mentioned I wondered what sorts of things we would be needing to craft? Food and drink? Potions and scrolls for special abilities, healing or increasing stats temporarily, etc.? Probably weapons, ammunition and gear, of course, but mods for them?

Also, will the settlements and kingdoms have content scaled for larger raid groups as in the old style games?

Do you think there will be things like falling damage, limited breath for swimming, weight of gear slowing you down or decreasing your abilities?

Will we have to find a vendor or teacher to upgrade or learn new abilities? Will we be swamped with quest givers with little lights over their heads like all the new games have or will we be challenged to find things for ourselves?

Will faction matter in one's ability to buy or sell to npc's or even whether one is allowed in town at all?

Some of these things probably were not even discussed in the blogs but I am so excited at the prospect of actually getting to play a harder style mmo again that I couldn't help posting them. /grin
