10 Minute Background:

Step 1 (5 Concepts):

1. Stressful Childhood: While Mira has scattered happy memories of growing up, the primary emotion she remembers feeling as a child is stress. At a very young age, she remembers her father not being around, though her memory on whether he died or just left is unclear. However, what she does remember is her mother not handling his absence well and seeming to be in a constant state of anxiety, with causes ranging from reasonable concerns, like worrying how to provide for them, to seemingly trivial issues like whether she had accidently offended the mailman.
2. Calm Outward Demeanor: Never wanting her own anxieties to trigger her mother’s, Mira became very practiced at hiding her emotional state and calming down people who are in a state of panic. In a crisis she often seems calm, cool and disaffected. However, this is mostly a façade. She still gets scared and anxious, but keeps it deeply hidden, not wanting to make a bad situation worse.
3. Left Home At Some Point: While her memories of living with her mother are the strongest she currently has, she does have a few recollections of her later life and she feels like her mother isn’t around for those. However, for the life of her she can’t remember why. Given that her mother is not particularly apt at taking care of herself, this is causing Mira a fair amount of anxiety at the campaign start.
4. Protective: Mira is so seemingly nonplussed in times of chaos, that it is common for people to assume that she is apathetic. However, she actually cares far more that she lets on. In particular she is extremely protective of those she views as vulnerable, particularly emotionally. One of her few non-childhood memories involve a person who she was tasked with helping or protecting. Like with her mother, she can’t really remember why she was helping them or where they are now and it’s leaving her with a guilty and anxious feeling.
5. Dislikes Conflict: Mira first instinct when conflict arises is to try and calmly diffuse the situation. If a person proves too stubborn or erratic to be talked down, her next step is usually to try manipulation or trickery. Violence is usually her last resort, as it tends to lead to more chaos.

Step 2 (Goals):

1. Her primary goal starting out would be to try and regain her memories. She would absolutely hate the loss of control of her mental state.
2. More specifically, she would want to figure out what happened to her mother and this other person she was helping who she feels was important somehow.

Step 3 (2 Secrets):

1. Known: She is convinced that this mystery person she was supposed to help is somehow related to the current predicament. However, her instinct is to keep this to herself, as she is embarrassed that she can’t remember much more and feels guilty that she might somehow be responsible for the things that are happening.
2. Unknown: Her memories of the mystery person are muddled up. She is right that she was trying to help someone and she is right that remembering him or her is important. However, the person was actually manipulating her. (See Step 4)

Step 4 (3 Connections):

1. Mira still has strong positive memories of her mother, even if her childhood was stressful. She would like to know what happened to her.
2. As stated above, there is a mystery person that Mira feels she was supposed to be helping, though the details are unclear.
3. Mira also has vague recollections of some person that was out to get her and suspects they were involved in her being put in the asylum somehow (whether or not they actually were). What she doesn’t realize is that the person she was helping and the person who was out to get her is the same.

Step 5 (3 Quirks):

1. Mira usually speaks with a slow, calm, almost hypnotic tone. Her posture seems relaxed and she tends to saunter when she walks.
2. She almost never says exactly what is on her mind. Her words tend to be carefully calculated before they are spoken.
3. At first glance there are no cracks in Mira’s calm. However, a careful observer might notice that in times of high stress she has subtle ticks, like running a coin between her fingers or tapping gently on a table.

Step 5 (Fears):

1. Mira’s main fear is fear itself. She has a deeply seeded belief that if she doesn’t stay calm at all times she will cause others to panic and chaos will ensue. As a result of this fear, she is particularly scared of any magic being used on her that would affect mind or exerts control. Creatures capable of possession particularly scare her.
2. While not as strong, Mira is somewhat afraid of mindlessly violent entities. Essentially anything set on hurting her that can’t be talked to.

For my own fears, I have a lot of minor ones, but not a lot of major ones. I guess by biggest one (or at least the one in my head since I have been doing some hikes on vacation) is falling off of something very high, like a cliff or a building. It’s particularly strong if it’s windy out.

Appearance:

Mira's appearance might indicate to some the presence of a rebellious streak. Within her long brown hair, more than one streak of color can be found. Shades of Blue, Pink, Green and Purple can all spotted, even if not all at once. She also has spiraling patterns tattooed to her skin, starting around her left elbow and climbing all the way past her shoulder and towards her chest. These patterns contain no clear images, words or symbol. Yet, those who stare at them for a while often claim to find figures within the mesmerizing design. Both the hair and the tattoos were conscious choices on Mira part, having found that color and patterns make for great distractions and aid in the hypnotic effects she creates. Still, with a few years missing from her memory, several parts of her tattoos are entirely unfamiliar and the streaks in her hair are not in the colors or positions that she last remembers.

Mira's physique is mostly long and lithe. However, her arms show muscle definition that could only be achieved through some kind of physical training that Mira does not remember ever doing. While, she is a little taller and stronger than the average person of her age and gender, Mira's posture is generally slouched and casual, ensuring that her natural presence in not intimidating. She uses this to her advantage, reserving her full height and presence for situations where she needs to rattle someone.
