Tidepod the Giant Sparkler Barbarian Bleachling, Wellspring Devotee of Sangpotshi
"Tidepod of bleach and sparkle!"
Tidepod (his most recent name) was adventuring when he came upon an empty shrine to Sangpotshi. It came with a supply of endless food and a believer's manifest. Tidepod quickly became obsessed with achieving “selflessless”. With no other selves present to give context to this purpose it was especially hard. The bleaching came for him when he ignored his First World needs for constant new experiences. Through sheer force of will he silently meditated into oblivion.
But he made it through! His background is Raised in Belief by Sangpotshi, Assured of Religion. He remembers very little of who he once was, and has no further access to the First World. His newfound Divine Wellspring (Heritage) keeps him going. He remains on a quest to demonstrate his selflessness. The trauma of the bleaching gave him Giant (Barbaric) rage issues and he wields Large (clumsy 1) sparklers (with Razzle-Dazzle, improvised weapon) to overcompensate for his lack of colour. At level 2 he will take the Improvised Weapon Master archetype to paste over his poor life choices, and Trick Magic Item. Then at level 3 he will buy Shield Other scrolls for his “ultimate” expression of selflessness: Living vicariously through the shared pain of others.
Personality-wise, his PTSD is triggered when he sees others meditating. He is completely unselfish. He has no goals of his own but he has a glorious passion for others' pursuit of their dreams. Even bad guys can have exciting ambitions sometimes. He uses Assurance with Religion to attempt to predict the life goals of others. If a part of those goals sounds self-actualizing (beyond basic body and ego needs) then he will help out. Subtly, if others disapprove, such as helping an enemy. He will always maintain a good supply of Large Sparklers.
