Yeeeaaaa, there is no way that is intended. There are spells that have casting times measured in hours, and the idea of letting someone cast one of those as a swift action is crazy.

Granted.

In addition to correcting the Hierophant's abilities to be more like the Archmage's, it seems to me that there should probably be some kind of caveat that the original spell must not have a casting time greater than a standard action (or something along those lines).

Strictly as written it looks to me like what Christopher Van Horn stated (swift to cast any known/prepared spell, rather than the listed casting time).

One could even make the inference that a Hierophant can use their surge to cast any of their divine spells as a standard action rather than the listed casting time.

Am I missing something? How far can the Iron Bands of Binding be thrown (or what are its range increments)?

I'm looking for a little clarification.
When creating a magic item and using modifiers that adjust the cost to create, to what degree does this adjust the base price in regards to the time it takes to craft the item (and not merely the market price)?
Specifically I'm asking about things such as Hedge Magician and the "Other Considerations" that reduce price by a percentage (such as the skill, class, and alignment restrictions).
Note that I'm not looking for clarification as to whether they should be used (as I understand that it is a contested issue), just as to whether they affect the base price in regards to time to create or not.

For Hedge Magician, my assumption is that it does not because it is specifically worded like so:

Whenever you craft a magic item, you reduce the cost of gp required to make the item by 5%.

On the other hand, I found the text for the restrictions a bit vague in regards to the question at hand.

Thanks
