Thank you for your reply. I hadn't seen the "decompose corpse" spell. That will be a nice wand purchase and makes collections easier.

Hello.

I was looking at the new Undead Lord Cleric Archetype presented in Ultimate Magic (and online).

In exchange for the cleric's second domain, she can acquire a skeleton or zombie companion with either max cleric HD or half cleric HD with the use of an alternate skeleton build.

Given that most enemies encountered are leveled humanoids (effectively 1HD when converted), how is an undead lord supposed to maintain a higher level companion?

In PFS or a home game, would you allow "off-screen acquisition" through story telling or perhaps through purchasing a corpse, or would you require the cleric to, in game, collect the corpse(s) to be used for the corpse companion?

If a cleric wanted to purchase a corpse, how would that transact?

If a player came to the table with a skeletal bulette or young dragon, how would you judicate?

Thank you.

In the Adventurer's Armory there are two items of interest: Wrist Sheath, and Wrist Sheath, Spring Loaded.

By their names they are attached to a character's wrist(s). Does this, however, mean they use up the wrist magic item slot?

Thank you.

9 people marked this as FAQ candidate.

In the APG Druid Shaman entries, their wildshape is modified as follows:

Quote:

Wild Shape (Su): At 6th level, a [type] shaman’s wild shape

ability functions at her druid level – 2. If she takes on the
form of a [type], she instead uses her druid level + 2.

What does this +/- modify? Does it modify how long the ability lasts or the level of the ability you can use?

Thank you.

My two cents

It depends. I would say that the rogue would require more than one stealth check and the cleric more than one opposed check. The rogue wants to remain unseen and the cleric is actively wanting to see him.

Anymore thoughts on this? My gaming group has recently .. conflicted on this topic with nearly this setup. There were a few more baddies, and the enemy with darkvision was in combat.

I am exhausted on reading the different groups about stealth, perception, HiPS, etc., and there seems to be no agreement.

The rogue in question is designed to be a sniper.

This is how I would rule, please let me know if you agree:
A: The rogue has to have declared stealth the previous round.
B: The cleric would gain a perception vs the rogues stealth for cover.
C: Nothing
D: If the cleric did not perceive the rogue in spot B, the rogue has the stealthed condition on the Cleric and can effectively attack as "invisible" versus the cleric.

If the rogue doesn't attack and continues to move, they do not qualify to restealth unless the somehow gain concealment (not dim-light within the darkvision radius) or cover.

Each enemy gets one perception opportunity to see the stealther whether they have darkvision or not, and each would oppose the rogue's original stealth check.

Thoughts?

that is correct, power attack has nothing to do with weapon size just the stren mode applied to damage.

half stren -1/+1
full stren -1/+2
1.5 stren -1/+3

that is why double slice is amazing for power attack now. =)

So, if using twf and power attacking with two sawtooth sabres without double slice it would be:

primary: -1/+2
offhand: -1/+1

with double slice:

primary: -1/+2
offhand: -1/+2 ?

If I have a sawtooth sabre (1d8 19-20/x2) and do not have the EWP, it is treated as a longsword which would be a medium weapon.

Combining Power attack with this would be the standard -1/+2 (if used in one hand). Correct?

If you have the EWP (sawtooth sabre), the weapon is then treated as a light weapon.

How would Power Attack work with the weapon now? Would it be -1/+2 or -1/+1?

Thank you.

Then you have a piercing weapon in one hand and your other hand is empty.

So, to clarify as I have had people say I am foolish.

If you were to go Monk 2 / Fighter 5 / Duelist++ using Two Weapon Fighting Feats, you could:

+ Use Precise Strike with your Rapier, and still attack with your Improved Unarmed

+ Use Dervish Dance to add your dexterity to your Weapon Damage.

If the character has Weapon Finesse, which is a prerequisite for Duelist, and is, also, using the Dervish Dance feat, would they add their dexterity to the dexterity they are already using to attack? Would they also add their dexterity to their damage with the Rapier .. how about with the unarmed?

Thank you for this clarification.
