I am DM for this path and when we play, one of my players usually supplies the miniatures.

For this adventure, though, the number of oversized miniatures of two particular monster types (no spoilers here), exceeds my players collection.

I have looked into picking up the needed miniatures (not being too fussy about exact matches, mind you) and the costs are astronomical.

Any suggestions about how to buy (heck, I will even talk about renting) the necessary miniatures without breaking the bank?

I don't think it hurts the campaign.

Having said that, give your DM a break. He/she has told you that they are uncomfortable with you playing a cleric of a god in the Ebon Triad. There could be a bunch of DM-specific reasons for this ranging from modifications to the adventure path the DM has made to limited DM experience level.

Signing on to run an adventure path is a lot of work. I am the DM on this one (my group has alternated DMs for different adventure paths) and without spoilers I will say that the story arc on this path covers a LOT of ground and leaves plenty of room of DM adjustments or improvements. It can also be daunting in trying to guess what character types might "break the game."

Maybe the two of you could work together to find a mutually acceptable solution instead of you going to the DM with a sheet of Message Board responses telling your DM he/she is wrong.

Lashonna's arrival: At least an hour late

PCs chanting and smearing mushroom ointment on their eyes during a dinner party?

Priceless.

I am just about to run PoHR and was NOT looking forward to it but I have turned a corner and the possibilities of the Fabler are one of the reasons. Hastur and I've Got Reach have inspired me.

I am going to turn the Fabler into an unrequited admirer of Lashonna who, when brought to his current plight in KotR is compelled (geased, dominated, whatever) by Lashonna not to reveal her secret. He will fight his undead status and endeavor to be a real help to the party until he has an opportunity to hurl himself at Lashonna and try his level (and ineffectual) best to kill her. That might be too much poignance for my group but we will try it.

For counterbalance, we got some comic relief out of the deomand on the outskirts of SoLS. I think I will pump him up a little and make him the outcast artists love interest (so I can play up a funny unrequited love story as well).

...are they evil, chaotic or just any non-lawful alignment?

Truth to tell, I don't think my players do read these posts but, if they did, they always play the game fair and square. So, at least, lawful neutral for them.
