Shafts of sunlight pierce the heavy clouds that obscure the sky in the early afternoon on the last Moonday of Pharast. The rays illuminate monument and alley alike in the Varisian city of Magnimar. As you hasten to the Pig and Whistle public house amidst the churches and academies of the Keystone district, you think back on the events of the past day. Either you, or someone you know was called upon by Revenuer Jeminda Anikee, who asked for aid in a matter of great personal and professional importance to her. Apparently some flyspeck town called Ravenmoor in central Varisia hasn’t paid their taxes in years and owe a sum of over 1,000 gold pieces, and this oversight could cost the minor functionary her livelihood. To make matters worse, she had already dispatched her brother-in-law, a tax collector in his own right to bring back the funds, but he left almost two months ago, and has not been heard from in some time. You have agreed to make the journey to bring back the gold, and hopefully Elyas Kyle, wayward brother-in-law and tax collector. Jeminda has even promised your group 300 pieces of gold for the task. It's not much, but you're not exactly swimming in coin at the moment, and a trip out into the wild could be just the thing. So, you've gathered up your earthly effects and equipment, said your goodbyes and made your way here to meet your companions and have your questions answered. You note a pack mule laden with a tent and supplies hitched to the post outside the pub, and Jeminda sitting inside as you duck into the homey shadows of the Pig & Whistle.

Hi there. I'm recruiting for two open spots for a new PbP built around a slightly modified version of Feast of Ravenmoor. I'm currently playing in several PbP's here on the boards and have decided to try my hand at running a game. There are currently four players signed up for this game, they are all running or playing in active games with me. The party consists of a half-orc two-handed weapon melee fighter, a life oracle, an archery ranger and a menhir savant druid. I am looking for character submissions that complement the current party makeup and/or fill in the missing pieces.

Character creation guidelines are as follows:

- 25 point buy
- characters start at 3rd level
- 2 traits
- average wealth by level (3,000 gp) in gear, characters should begin play with roughly 10gp or less in available funds
- the following classes are not available for play in this game: gunslinger, ninja, summoner, or any build that focuses on controlling/creating undead.
- any non-evil alignment, but please be a grownup if you're hoping to play CN. Disruption for its own sake isn't fun for me.
- core races are fine, exotic races will be approved on a case by case basis, custom races are not available
- subject to the restrictions above, if it's in a Paizo book it's fair game. 3pp materials are not likely to be approved, but hey, it doesn't hurt to ask.
- please complete your character in a dedicated alias including a backstory not to exceed 750 words.

I personally don't use herolabs, but their format is very easy to read , so I would appreciate it if you can emulate that format.

Aside from that, please give us all the basics of your character, fluff and crunch and we can figure out how you guys know each other. Right now I'm envisioning somewhat established adventurers who may or may not have worked together in the past. You're down to your last few coins, and may have a reason to get out of Magnimar quickly.

Recruitment will close at 9:00 am CST on Monday, November 19th, with gameplay to begin on Monday, November 26th. Please let me know if you have any questions, I look forward to seeing your characters.

This is the Discussion Thread for this adventure, being an expanded and possibly modified version of Feast of Ravenmoor. Character creation guidelines are as follows:

I'm looking forward to this game and hopefully you are too.

As far as posting expectations go, I'm hoping that everyone can post once a day during the week, and optionally once during the weekend. I also understand that life gets in the way, especially with the holidays coming up. I expect things to slow down then, but hopefully we will keep it going into the new year. I am ok GMPCing your character if necessary, but if you're going to be unavailable for a while, please let the rest of the group know so we can plan accordingly.

Draconic Bloodline wrote:
Bloodline Arcana: Whenever you cast a spell with an energy descriptor that matches your draconic bloodline's energy type, that spell deals +1 point of damage per die rolled.
PRD wrote:
Elemental Spell (Metamagic) You can manipulate the elemental nature of your spells. Benefit: Choose one energy type: acid, cold, electricity, or fire. You may replace a spell's normal damage with that energy type or split the spell's damage, so that half is of that energy type and half is of its normal type. An elemental spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level. Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Each time you must choose a different energy type.

So, I was planning out advancement for a sorcerer of mine when I ran across this feat. The way I read it, elemental spell does not change the spell descriptor, only the damage type. So, with red dragon bloodline, a burning hands spell converted to cold damage would still receive the +1 damage per dice, but a cone of cold converted to fire damage would not. I'm sure that I've forgotten something and that this shouldn't actually work this way, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Full stats are in profile. I'm playing in a planar PbP set in Abbadon. My 7th level feat will definitely be Spell Penetration. We haven't had to deal with SR yet, but I am sure it's coming in the not too distant future.
What I'm having the most trouble with its what to do for my first Magus Arcana. Most of the guides suggest Arcane Accuracy, but I have had zero problems getting my hits in and it doesn't seem like something this character would really need.
My thought is to grab the Empowered Magic Arcana to make up for my lack of Intensified Shocking Grasps in the near term, but the people on these boards usually have really interesting ideas using mechanics that I haven't even considered, so I look forward to hearing what you all have to say.

If a weapon has the Seeking quality, do targets in melee still receive the +4 bonus to AC against ranged attacks from that weapon.
My group seems to think that the Seeking property only applies against concealment, while my reading of the RAW, to wit:

'The weapon veers toward its target, negating any miss chances that would otherwise apply, such as from concealment.'

(emphasis added by me)

suggests that a weapon with the Seeking property would negate the AC bonus, similar to the Precise Shot feat.

What says the message board?

I cannot seem to find how many feats the character classes start with. Please help!
