About Melkhor, When Walls Fell
Melkhor is a member of the Shiikirri-Quah, or 'Hawk Clan,' a peaceful Shoanti clan in the Varisaian highlands. Growing up as the chieftan's son was not easy and he often sought the counsel of their spiritual leader, Three Eyes Shining. Despite the Hawk Clan's openness toward outsiders or 'tshameks,' Melkhor had a deep animosity toward anyone who lived in what he considered Shoanti lands (which was basically all of Varisia) and especially anyone who turned their back on the Shoanti ways.
So high was his animosity, that Melkhor's father, chief Duranga, Mountain Skull Pathing, bade his only son to engage on the Shoanti rite of passage in a most unusual way: he was to go out and visit the world of men and perhaps come to an understanding how they can exist both Shoanti and non-Shoanti in relative peace.
