"If you all are willing, feel free to join me for lunch and or dinner. The rain wont let up for some time as Ms Ravengale has said, and we need to keep our strength." The Mayor makes note to smile at Elysriel as he mentions her. "As for me I'm going to eat and then go back to my paperwork. Unfortunately it ties me down for time, but should I be needed you know where I will be."
He smile widely once more before walking out of the room through the door and across the hallway. leaving the doors wide open. You can see a small hall for eating inside the room he moved to. A chair being pushed aside and the sounds of utensils softly clunking against a bowl/plate. Now with the doors open you get the full effect of the food though, as the smell pours in, it only waters your mouth more so than before.
The maid leaves the other room making her way back to all of you. She speaks for the first time still not making eye contact. "If you'd wish to join us I have prepared more than enough"
Noticing the boy's bowl was almost empty she walks over grabbing his hand. "There is a more proper place for you to sit, and more food if you are hungry little one".
The boy still does not speak but is obedient enough to follow.
The Mayor stands, at first he seems a little taken aback at the sudden incomer, but then he notices something about them. "It is a pleasure to meet you Ms Ravengale. To what do we owe the pleasure?" Kindly he offers a seat to her as well. "Feel free to get comfortable, it is quite a travel from so far away... Actually perhaps you can help us with this problem as well, we were just discussing"
Normally I would have broken this up to tell the story separately from the Mayor's, but I didn't want to jump back and forth
"It could very well be possible, but I'm afraid that I know not of this boy."
The smell of beef and vegetables creep through the building, a perfect dish for such a day. The scent causes your mouths to water. "So very lucky I am to have such a great chef in my arsenal. Quite a talented young woman indeed...." the Mayor says sniffing the air. "I will message the guards and orphanages once the rain settles a bit to be certain."
He sighs, re situating his posture before continuing. "I have contacted everyone whom were at my disposal for leads Ryker,... No one has anything to give nor shows signs of having anything to hide. Being a man who can read people fairly well,..." his gaze turns to each of the others, "Stan is,... well, I'm not sure why he left. I'm sure he mourns yet it brings me to wonder if he's the one who's done it or not. The situation works against him,... he has been through too much since his father passed."
A grumbling sound sounds in the horizon. Seconds pass and a flash of light shoots from the sky crashing somewhere in the distance. Loud clashing sounds ring over the town as the thunder and lightning join in the chorus the rain held.
Ms. Ire,... she and her son worshiped Heroneos, I believe, rarely did they ever miss any church functions. As far as I know everyone loved and supported her, especially since her late husband passed. He was a veteran guard, and served many years in the army reserve." His voice seemed to carry pride as he spoke of the vet. Like white on black his voice stood out over the rain, pointing out another's inspiration on the community.
A knock is heard at the door, as are the sounds of shuffling footsteps to and from. Murmuring and the door opening and closing peek your curiosity. A moment passes and the footsteps grow louder until the stop just outside the door. Three knocks at the door sound before it opens revealing the maid and another unknown woman.
"Another presence you say?...." He breaks off in deeper thought now. "So many possibilities, but every clue counts. Very well, if you would like to I grant it, patrol to your hearts content, though I must advise, going with another is far safer." He grins slightly as if encouraging his words. "Strange times indeed.... scary times..."
"Let us hope that the rain hasn't washed away any evidence friends" He says, reaching for the mug also on his desk, for the first time and taking a large swig.
No frustration was heard in the Mayor's tone. What he said was purely fact, and straight to the point. A bit of a warning.
"She put up a fight, from what the neighboring citizens reported. They heard crashing like a struggle. When guards made it to the scene her body was barely recognizable. She has one son, the husband is deceased. No other family or relations of any sort was apparent to anyone that knew her or her son. They'd moved here back before her son Stan was born, who has since left town by the looks.... As for the man downstairs, all we could get from him was a confession that he'd killed a woman, he's already tried killing himself which is why we have him restrained with manacles at the moment."
He now turns back to Ryker, nodding to Casimir as well. "Where you able to come up with anything? You're all welcome to try and get more out of him. He's in the basement holding cells."
The Mayor reaches for and grabs a bell off his table, chiming it once. The maid you seen before steps inside the door. "Would you be so kind as to please get this young man something to eat? preferably something warm? Thank-you."
His gaze turns from the little boy and Ryker, to Ana now. "Perhaps working together and discussing a strategy would best help the situation. As is I have the same information that they have, only they seem to have caught a killer and one confessed to me. I will let you decide whether this information you have has any importance to the situation or not. But if you have any doubt I'd suggest you spit it out before more die or get hurt."
He takes a moment contemplating, the sound of the rain outside goes from hard hitting and heavy, to soft then back up again like a child playing with dials. "Privacy wont be needed, had it been I'd not have invited you in initially. That said, I'd like you to work together and get to the bottom of this for me if you're willing to help. Nothing has changed in his pattern, always a girl, always at night time, never the same place but generally most cases were had in the south eastern part of the city."
He would smile at Ana, in a way that would make most either blush or smile in return, "With all due respect, I appreciate when people come to my city to visit, or contribute to the society. It is what I strive for. However, should any of the information prove to be tied to any problems that affect the city or it's people then I'd ask you come forth and tell me right away."
He ponders for a moment shifting his eyes between each of you. He sighs deeply and taking a deep breath continues, "What is it I can do for you all? As you know I've got a lot of paperwork to do, and to find any leads on whom killed Ms. Ire." Shifting in his chair slightly for comfort he continues after nodding slightly at the paperwork on his desk. "I don't suppose any of you have any information or leads? what with the gentleman downstairs in the holding cell's confession, he could be just one of many for all we know." The Mayor now rubbed his temples, obvious to anyone looking that the strain from working the case was building up. His gaze once again returns to the group focused mainly on Ryker awaiting a response.
"It would seem the gods have blessed us with their presence this day. Crying for someone as love as Ms. Ire." He moves again this time to his office as Ryker and Casimir both know from experience. The dampness from outside left a slight refreshing smell in the air, as well as a coolness that sent shivers down your spine.
"Please..." Gesturing you from within the doorway, "Join me," He would then wave his arm as if conveying the layout of chairs sitting in front of his desk. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?"
"Giving a child nightmares is not something I intend to do dear child..." Kneeling down and covering the boy's ears he raises his head up as if to project his voice away from the boy,
"...It has regrettably happened again..."
This seemed to have been enough for those listening as more gasps were heard. Some gave glares at these words others made a more frightened face. It is obvious that they all seem to know about the previous murders or have heard rumor of them.
"People,... Citizens,...Friends,...", Mayor Felgren looks over the audience with certain despair mixed on his face. "Families......It brings me undeniable pain, and regret to inform you that this morning we lost another good soul... It is a problem I can assure you, that my colleges and myself are looking into with the utmost urgency... Giving life where it has already been taken is not something we are capable of, but learning from and righting our wrongs,... He sighs, taking a breath in before continuing...that is what we owe those whom we've lost in one way or another."
The crowd seems to be getting moved by the speech. Hitting the right notes among this crowd is something the mayor seemed made for as he did so with ease. The rumors began to be snuffed out as their attention seemed glued to finding out more from the Mayor himself.
"On this day, we honor the memory of Ms. Aweny. She will be buried in the cemetery dedicated to Heroneous beside her late husband Sir Geoffry. Funeral accommodations will be provided for her burial. May the gods grant you safe travel into the heavens Ire, it is in our prayers we meet you again when we are called."
"Hello Mr. Doloran, to what do I owe the pleasure?"... he exclaims as he gives his best half-hearted smile. "Your compatriot has already gone. He left for the front gate on an errand for me, it seems we have some visitors from the east.

The mayor now stops shuffling through the paperwork. He stares up at you as if awaiting a reply.
Just to keep things clear. Casimir is away from the party at the mayor's office building
