Standing she turns to Meridoc, "The recently implemented special containment protocols should stop any intruder from reaching anything that we have identified as truly dangerous, and if one of the unclassified items finds him first then we should hear the screams."

With an eager gaze she looks towards the stairs, "And if they find something truly interesting, then we will just have to deal with it. Field work can be so very satisfying."

... Either way as I have established earlier we (Maya, Marcellus, and I) bid on the same outcome. Marcellus will have a new trainee, Maya and I will argue which of us obtained victory in the field of accidental indentured employment. Zarta will have a new member. ...

An amused smile grows on Maya's face at Meridoc's response.

"My lady did not send me here to buy rather to provide a reminder."

Looking to the halfling that has been the focus of the bidding she continues, "That while to some life is a valuable thing, that there are many who find it very cheap."

She pauses briefly. "My lady further cautions that you should be very careful around those whose motivations are unclear, question all the information that comes your way, and know that there are many in our society that will spend your life cheaply to further their own ends."

She turns back to the gathered crowd, "If you have ones that you can truly trust count yourself lucky and treat them well for people like this will become more and more rare the further you rise in our society."

"Trust is something that is worth more than gold and it can be shattered in an instant."

"Everything has a price. Everyone has a price and nothing will last forever. Plan, prepare, always pay attention, and you may thrive."

Elegantly she returns in amusement to Meridoc, "This lesson was my mission and I have achieved my victory. Your help in communicating the lesson was very much appreciated. What would there be left to argue about?"

She patiently awaits any response or reply.

There is the slight puff of displaced air as an extremely beautiful half orc woman dressed in exquisitely made Chelaxian hellnight signifer robes appears near the back of the room.

Dark feathered wings that grow from her back briefly eclipse her features in their shadow as she orients herself.

Spotting the halfling a smile filled with equal parts amusement and promise flows across her face.

"My mistress has interest in this one and I am informed that the cost of a life is very well known. I bid 5,450 gold for the pleasure of it." with a voice like honeyed silk.

She arches a perfect eyebrow at the rest of the crowd while glancing around to see if there are any other bids.

Without looking away from Darth Signus's still silent form Maya replies to Escadriel,
"Your approval or understanding is not required, only your obedience. If following direction, maintaining protocols, or remembering the reason why we are here are in any way problematic to you I would suggest you leave before this work becomes the death of you."

Signifer Maya Dza'Thrune of the Order of the Scourge is an incredibly beautiful half orc woman. Maya is known to be one of the Society's most highly skilled diplomats / interrogators (both above +40).

Maya raises an eyebrow at Darth Signus's continued silence and wonders how long it will take him to compose himself enough for a reply.

A half orc woman whose beauty burns the very air around her replies, “The mantis are not a threat to be concerned about. Our mistress is and will remain safe. The assassins will be stopped and all details about what set them on this path will be ripped from their fragile minds. Then we begin the work of dealing with the true problems, those who set this in motion.”
She smiles wickedly as raven black wings spring forth from her shoulders and the fires of hell dance within her eyes.
