Tricks 5/6, Spells: 1st 2/3

Blackspire, I really don't want to seem like a jerk or lecture at you, but it isn't up to you to change another player's actions. Your character can't do it in the heat of battle, and as a player you don't get to decide what anyone else does.

If Fukushu (or anyone else) decides to kill the Hellknights, we can deal with that in game after the fight. If you want to keep the discussion going, let's do it here instead of in Gameplay.

Tricks 5/6, Spells: 1st 2/3

Let's move this to discussion.

Tricks 5/6, Spells: 1st 2/3

Moving my Painful Stare to the wagon driver (black, I think?) and using Slumber Hex. Target takes -2 to Will saves and has to make a DC 17 will save of fall asleep.

Mask stayed hidden, just glancing from foe to foe and spreading havoc.

Deciding to remain in his hiding place for now, Mask whispered an impulse into the mind of the nearest caravan guard.

Swift action, Hypnotic Stare on nearest guard. He takes a -2 penalty on Will saves.

Murderous Command, DC 18 negates.

"I think Thrune will react the way they react to everything. Like tyrants." Max shrugged.

Tricks 5/6, Spells: 1st 2/3

Max shrugged. "I came expecting this. Looks like most of the rest of us did too. If you aren't ready to get blood on your hands, you don't have to participate."

"I'm alright having an issue with both. They might serve the city, but the masses I've known don't feel very protected. Mostly what the Hellknights do is enforce a brutal social hierarchy. Look around Westcrown sometime. The laws they enforce are unjust and the authority they serve is corrupt."

"There might be a few individuals among their ranks who are decent people, but as long as they wear the uniform, they're the bad guys."

Tricks 5/6, Spells: 1st 2/3

"What's the problem with killing them? They're hellknights? Killing them is a good thing." Max seemed confused.

Tricks 5/6, Spells: 1st 2/3

"Yeah, you know, acting." Max said with overly dramatic emphasis. "Just pretend like you're really dangerous."

Max set a pair of bear traps in front of their ranged weapon wielders as well as a couple of traps that looked something like shallow collapsable buckets which he set into the ground by digging shallow holes. Some scattered branches and leaves later and they were all but invisible.

Setting 2 bear traps and 2 Tresspasser's boots in front of the archer's nest. For the sake of expedience, I recommend using the same Perception and DD checks for the bear traps as the boots.

"Mal, you can hang out back here with the shooters."

He loaded a crossbow and ducked out of sight behind a tree.

Taking 20 on stealth for 25 before combat starts.

Sure. Assume we talk basic tactics and put that up before we move in.

"Speak for yourself. I was a gladiator in the arena."

"I think that counts as acting. Just because the violence is real doesn't mean the presentation isn't a performance too."

Tundergloom wrote:
"A name meant to strike terror into the hearts of criminals, I think."

"That's just collateral effect. The Hellknights are the Knights of Thrune, who rule Celiax. The house of Thrune is very public about their worship of Asmodeus. The Hell in their knightly title is very literal."

"I like the plan. Let's go make a mess."

Tricks 5/6, Spells: 1st 2/3

"Ooooh, that makes a lot more sense." Max said.

"Blackspire...Thundergloom? Is that actually your name? Is it a translation issue, or did your parents just hate you?" the blind man's assistant asked.

I've just updated Malqazar to level two. I love the idea of Fukushu always knowing who Mask is. Maybe it's the smell?

I like it. Mask always smells faintly like a freshly washed dog. :)

A young man stood next to Fukushu acting as some sort of attendant to the blind man. He didn't stick out like the shoanti or the magician. In fact, he was barely memorable in any way. His clothes were serviceable, decently crafted but not fine. Worn thin in a few places, but not dirty. A morningstar hung from his belt. He gave a small, slightly awkward wave. "I'm Max."

That sounds great. I think it would be delightful if Fukushu always knew who Mask was regardless of rhe face he was wearing

Mask's voice changes too, but I would be fine with Fukushu somehow still knowing that it's Mask.

Having the blind musician connected to the face-changer is pretty amusing to me. Want to come up with a past connection for our characters?

Doomed Hero here, ready to go. Looking forward to the game.

I'm going to need a little help from the existing players working my character into the game. Please go ahead and look at the character's background since Mask is something of a local celebrity/urban myth.

I'll need someone who has had dealings with Mask before, perhaps who'd have done mask a favor.

Oh, and please ignore the avatar picture. Mask's appearance changes frequently. I just needed a placeholder.

I do what I want!

Obviously this is before Mask took the test of the Starstone...

Doomed Hero with my Mesmerist, Mask.

Mask is a Kitsune who uses shapeshifting powers, enchantments and an array of social skills to pretend to be basically anyone. Mask is something of a Robin Hood style urban legend. Most people don't believe Mask really exists, and Mask likes it that way.

I'm not sure exactly how Mask is going to get swept up into the plot of the story. Could be that a favor is owed to one of the PCs or something.

Mechanically, Mask is a fantastic infiltrator and party face, and has a particularly nasty debuff/Slumber Hex combo.

You might have noticed that I'm not using gendered pronouns. I haven't decided if Mask is male or female yet. I'll probably just use the pronoun of whoever Mask is currently pretending to be. (I picked a random picture for my avatar, so right now I guess Mask is a guy)
