Just an FYI I will be taking 2 DM board breaks in the month of July:
1. July 2 through July 4 and
2. July 8 through July 11.
During this time I will be working on plot for some of the Campaigns as well as updating Campaign Information tabs for all Campaigns.
Storyteller Shadow
I still have an opening as noted below, anyone interested?
Recruitment is OPEN once again for Bloodlines - A V20 Vampire the Dark Ages Campaign - Clan Ventrue
You will start as Mortal.
All I need is a concept to start with.
This is a LONG running game, 10,000 posts. However, prior knowledge of the Chronicle is not necessary or quite frankly even desirable as you should not know anything of what has already taken place anyway.
For some reason no one seems to want to play Ventrue. Oi...

I am slowly working my way out of my DM board break. I want to add information to the Campaign Info Tab before I move us forward.
Sorry for the delay guys but not to worry, we'll be up and running again soon enough!
DM Guild Master
We appear to have lost Keamba Mafiki of the Ijo & Lettu "Wings" Kan (who announced he was leaving). We will roll forward with 5 PCs.
I/C Updated. Just one more campaign info tab update to go on this one ;-)
DM Guild Master
Playing in 20+ games and running 26 (soon to be 27) is time consuming. Outside of the boards I have a fairly busy work schedule and of course a life!
Often I find that if I fall behind in updates, I need to make time to simply update a Discussion Thread to inform the PCs of a particular game that I am either going to be posting later in the day or week or will be on a break form the boards for one reason or another.
To save time updating so many damn threads I am going to open this thread and link all of my DM aliases (and PC aliases) to this thread to inform people as to status.
Of course if people feel the need to ask other questions outside of PbP feel free to do so but mainly this will be a thread dedicated to ensuring that my PCs know my status and to assure everyone that even though I may have some absences away from the boards (or particular games) that new thread will always be up to date with my status.

Falling asleep Monday and Tuesday night set me back here, I will endeavor to update with greater frequency here! Sometimes I forget we lost 2 so if I only see 3 to 5 updates that's pretty much most of you posting!
DM Guild Master
Sorry for the long delay there folks. Now that the Ruins of Azlant Recruitment is humming along, posting will come much quicker!
That is the last new game I am recruiting for until something else closes down. It'll be a while before that happens based on the adventures I have going on right now.

Moment of Chaos 51+ equals attempt to still murder the goblin: 1d100 ⇒ 24
Pouts...just ever so slightly.
Honestly, I would've given no roll to possibly murder him had it been a kobold. I LOVE kobolds. But Evil race with a person who does like having 'moral compass' in his favor allowing him to murder someone...meant I had to pause and consider.
DM Guild Master
I'll leave it to Malqazar and Blackspire to decide if they want to murder hobo the goblin. :)
LOL.
DM Guild Master
Well, so far the group has played all the rights notes ;-)
Let's see if that continues, east or west...
DM Guild Master
Welcome back. I had the walking deadness last week. Worst cold ever.
Glad you all missed me. New developments IC ;-)
DM Guild Master
I...uh....I....WHY WHY, WHY YOU DO THIS!?!?!
For fun. Why do you do it? ;-)
DM Guild Master
Fair....I mean that's generally why I do most things, that and for profit.
If I could monetize DMing I totally would...
DM Guild Master
That was close! Between excellent Bluff and a Goblin as an eyewitness, well, what could they expect?
OK, this night is over, good job folks!
I will give a few days to RP your reactions and engage Janiven in conversation, then I'll update and move on to the next day.
We're going to roll with 5 for now and see how that goes moving forward. If at some point you all believe we need another PC or two I will recruit.
DM Guild Master
Alright Troupe, everyone has moved from an extra to a member of the cast, advance to second level! :-)
Blackspire Thundergloom
Leveled up to 2. I put ranks in more rogueish skills, including Disable Device (though his Dex isn't great and he has no tools yet).
Anybody have suggestions on a good level 1 necromancy spell from an arcane list to add to his spells known? Ray of Enfeeblement seems the best choice. He already gets Chill Touch as a racial SLA.

I like Ray of Enfeeblement, feel free to take a look at 3 pp spells, just drop me a PM or a spoiled post here on the Discussion thread for approval.

Early next week I'll push this along harder. Just want to gain a consensus from all PCs that they WILL be returning for a meeting and not just assume they will :-)
Vara Sithra
I'm here still, sorry. October is my busiest month and I just haven't had a chance to get updated. All set now though.
DM Guild Master
Sorry for the delays, RL been kicking my ass lately. A good week for vacation and some heavy duty posting.
DM Guild Master
I think we may have lost Vara, I've seen no posts by the Player anywhere since October 26.
Do we just proceed with 4 for now?

I would be leaning on the idea of getting another recruit or two. An all bard party while fun and novel...isn't the strongest party so being at the minimum size I think is gonna be brutal at best.
I mean I know things can be adjusted and SS does a great job of GMing but the more the merrier is always a delightful term to party size.
DM Guild Master
By early next week I'll bring in the new PCs, they'll just be members of the Rebel crowd to ease introduction. I may even bring 3 on board.
DM Guild Master
Alright, I am bringing more than 3 on board. I am bringing 5 (was 4 got a PM from someone who was done but lost track at Christmas time so I a letting him in too).
Due to the largesse of the group, I'll not wait for everyone to post when I update. Drops are fairly common on these boards, the original group was 8 down to the 4 now left.
You'll need the extra bodies for the crazy scene that will ensue in the near future anyhow.
Bakuno Duronn
Dotting! Thanks for the pick!
I'll tidy up my sheet and stuff tonight.
I have stealth-dotted into the gameplay thread.
-Mask-
Doomed Hero here, ready to go. Looking forward to the game.
I'm going to need a little help from the existing players working my character into the game. Please go ahead and look at the character's background since Mask is something of a local celebrity/urban myth.
I'll need someone who has had dealings with Mask before, perhaps who'd have done mask a favor.
Oh, and please ignore the avatar picture. Mask's appearance changes frequently. I just needed a placeholder.

I could use a hand also. I am not sure how my character will be introduced, but he is likely on the run.
I haven't added my background to the profile yet but Bakuno is an escaped gladiator, a slave from the arena. He is of Shoanti descent and was captured by Korvosan slavers and sent to Cheliax. When his weretiger-kin traits emerged at puberty he was sold to the arena for a great price, and when in the arena he would assume his weretiger-form, so the crowds generally won't recognize him as a human.
Fiarra
|
Dotting in with alias. Almost complete, just need equipment.
Fiarra is a Varisian former pirate. She earned her way out of slavery and servitude and ended up in Westcrown. She's not a fan of the Chelish government, having clashed with their naval forces a few times over the years. She has likely had her fill of drinking her days away and craves some action.
Jing the Bandit
|
For backstory purposes Jing would be horrid to be a contact. While he is not going to betray the party now (I'm assuming this whole feeling of fate demanding him not to, almost like an actual conscience for him for once.), he would've gladly sold anyone's secret/blackmailed anyone in order to keep himself and his little sister fed and off the streets.
Blackspire Thundergloom
Blackspire Thundergloom is NG, emphasis on the G, and very much willing to help another. However, this is really his first time challenging the authorities so any prior help in that regard would have been minor and indirect.
Sheltering Bakuno of Fiarra for a night would have been a possibility. He would know stories of Mask but I don't think he'd have been directly involved with the vigilante before.

The PC's have just entered a "safehouse" for an emerging group of rebels in Westcrown. The group is SO new that when the PCs arrived the group was debating a name for the group!
The leader of the group is a man named Arael. He and his second in command, Janiven, have begun to gather like minded individuals to their cause. That exact cause has yet to be revealed but generally it is to promote freedom for the citizens of the city, though not to do so by necessarily overthrowing the Thrune.
The safe house is an old shrine of Aroden. This shrine to Aroden, like many others throughout Westcrown, isn’t technically abandoned—it belongs to the church of Iomedae now, but no one has tended it for years. Westcrown’s government has no interest in maintaining the building, and like so many other ancient structures (especially those this close to the ruined portions of the city) it is simply ignored.
Arael decided to use this old shrine as a safe house for his latest project for precisely these reasons. The combination of it being a sacred place to his religion and being a building the city government ignores makes it a perfect place to serve as a headquarters.
Furthermore, long-standing laws that forbid secular groups from looting, rebuilding, or otherwise harming houses of worship work well to prevent too much Hellknight interest in the building.
Yet just to be safe, Arael is careful to hide all indications that the shrine is now inhabited. Its facade is as old and filthy as it ever was, and he’s covered all interior doors and windows with dark curtains to block light sources from within. Very few of Westcrown’s citizens know that Arael has cleaned up the interior of the shrine—and most of those are now among his growing group of followers.
The NEW PCs, are all present in this safe house and have been recruited by either Arael or Janiven over the course of the past few months. This approach I think allows each of the new PC's to tie their background to the group as they deem fit. The "rebels" are not a close knit group, at least not yet.
Whether you are on the run, or want to join a cause, or want to expand your own influence within the city, etc. each of these are good reasons for joining a group that has begun to pick up steam "underground".
Feel free to finalize your background with this in mind, I may or may not, use these backgrounds as part of Gameplay, I shall see where the AP takes us.
The current complication that this nascent rebellion has to deal with is the fact that its leader was just arrested by the Hellknights!
In fact, my last I/C post uncovered this information.
For the next series of posts we will:
1. Introduce the new PCs to the current PCs,
2. Get an introduction of all the members of the rebellion, and
3. Plan the best way to rescue Arael.
If you have questions feel free to ask, if not, adjust backgrounds accordingly and go ahead and get introductory posts in.
