I was referring to Fritz Leiber, from whom GW unapologetically stole most of the background for what would become the skaven.
I did not know that. To be honest there isn't much original in GW fantasy race wise. At least before Age of Sigmar they had a really cool world history but now even that is gone.

Thanks that confirms what I thought. Maybe I was looking at older guides that has those feats in them.
Something I am curious about, almost all Zen archer builds I have seen include rapid shot as a first level feat. I am wondering about the reason behind this as rapid shot gives you two shots each at a -2 which is the same as flurry gives so it seems redundant to me. Is it because you combine it with many shot at higher level as opposed to flurry? Thanks for any thoughts.

But the ENDING still troubles me. I guess when the fall season start, we'll see how the writers write themselves out of THIS mess.
Hopefully with new, better writers.

"The player has also read through the adventure path books and uses that knowledge to meta-game at critical points"
He is a cheat. KICK HIM OUT.
True, just thinking who in the party does most of the identifying vs the weapon it could be "fun".
So my party should be hitting an intelligent weapon soon and I was wondering when do you do the roll for ego vs ego? I am thinking that when someone picks it up identify the "magic" weapon would be the time for the fun to start.
Age 19 (spring 1983) AD&D.
Thanks, I will use that and just improvise my way through. I can always adjust some based on how much money I want them to have.
Any here remember how much they valued all the spellbooks from the runeforge at? There are a lot and many had the description of all spells from core book plus more. I am being lazy and not wanting to have to do math if someone else has. :)
pounce allows you to make a full attack at the end of your charge. but not with all your iterative attacks, (sorry twf guys) and with your entire natural attack routine.
>> Full attack means you get all your iterative attacks.
sneak attack precision damage specifically states that only the first attack in a routine that qualifies for sneak attack damage will actually deal said damage, but only if the starting attack was a sstandard, or a move action to begin. in contrast. all attacks in a full attack will be allowed to achieve sneak attack damage provided they connect.
>> Wrong you get your sneak attack on every attack that qualifies. For example if you pounce a flat footed opponent then you would get sneak damage on every attack. Now if you were to pounce out of invisibility you would only get sneak damage on the first attack as invis breaks after the first attack and therefore the rest of the attacks do not qualify for sneak damage.

Enlight_Bystand wrote: bdk86 wrote: Grumpus wrote: Are there any convenient forms of public transportation (or hotel shuttles) to get to more interesting parts of Seattle?
This will be my first time in Seattle, and i'd like to see some of the sights and not spend my entire weekend inside a hotel. There is! A Rapid Shuttle runs most of the day up the main thoroughfare (International Blvd?) in front of the hotel. About two stops north (or a 15-20 minute walk) is the SeaTac Light Rail Station. You can take this into Seattle; it's a ~35-40 minute trip into the city. This is a quick and easy way to get downtown, which has Pike's Place & the Wharfs in terms of most readily accessible touristy things. I'd also recommend the EMP Museum, which is a bit further into the city and a walk or short taxi ride. Admission is $22 online/$25 at the door not including any special exhibits they may be running that include an upcharge. I found it very worth it when I went last year and spent a good 2+ hours there. Getting up to the sky needle & EMP the monorail is a bit of good fun.
The Underground tour is excellent. The Chihuly Glass Museum is also great. It is right by the Space Needle.
Since the advanced ochre jellies not longer have split did you still treat them as having immunity to slash and piercing weapons? Just wondering as my party will be facing him today unless they do something weird.
Thanks for the input. I am going to grab a couple of them and dig in. Not sure how long they will be in town as they are on a wild goose chase(i.e. they think they need to go here but don't really). Maybe a good chance to dig out the NPC codex.
Does anyone know where I can get good info/map on Riddleport? My players are heading there next and I need to be ready.
Please cancel all of my subscriptions. I will be picking things up locally for the forseeable future.
Thanks,
Martin
I'll admit I don't usually pre-draw and in this case I'm not even sure I would try. Too many ways for them to go. My party went in the spider cave and through the tunnels, once they hit they second level they went across the bottom and down to the bottom level. They didn't even see most of the second level until after killing M.
Did the patch go in today? Still stuck at work so I can't check.
Iron ore and silver are now in mountains on mounds of rock.
Prior to a couple of days ago we could find true coal and true iron ore in trash piles around kindleburn, now we are finding none at all. Has something changed?
That did it, many thanks.
Thanks guys once we finish Watching Castle we will give it a try.
What are some of the low level attack orisions? That way I can look at what she has to see if I can help her.
Do they need to be attack cantrips or will any work? She has lightning arc but it won't let her slot it.
The wife is trying to level her divine skill but is having trouble figuring out how to. None of her attack skills will let her slot them and she can't figure out a weapon to attack with that will work. Help please.
Okay I seemto be going blind or fumbling my perception check but seem to be missing the clue to send the party to Hook Mountain for the last part. Help please.
Thanks, that makes since to me. An animal companion did get swallowed but they cut the tendriculos down quickly and got her out.
I have a couple of a questions on tendriculos' attacks. Does the paralysis goes over on any bite or tentacle hit or is it only after they are grabbed and the next round the grab continues (not counting the fun of being swallowed whole)?

I am touched by your concern all the same and will take your advice on board. (not in hs now, but when I was, basketball coach was always trying to hit me up to play. the problem was that I'm corn bad at it and at the time the 'you're tall so play ' thing grated along my contrarian streak I guess. I am currently helping out with the rpg club here). it's definitely sad when people feel adrift.
You couldn't have been as bad as I was. I started HS at 6'1" and ended at 6'6" and was never once asked to play basketball. :)
Too bad the post by your community manager implied otherwise. Sending in an email now.

This is a long term bug, she hasn't been able to log into the game since Sunday when I downloaded the game. I could log in when she couldn't.
Has there been a fix for the can't log into the game but can log into the GW site bug yet? Would like to start playing but can't until the wife can log in also.

Thanks, that is what I meant actually. :) Brain is taking a nap this afternoon I guess.
Are the stress test characters going to be deleted when Open Enrollment starts?
Calling in the U.S. Air Force to blow Strad's castle off the face of Ravenloft. It was a D20 modern campaign in a Laura Hamilton-esk world that was merging with Ravenloft.
The one character to me that really feels off to me is Alfred. He has always been very proper British with that upper class accent not the one he is using in the show. Also he is just too rough around the edges for my taste. Even if he is the son of Dr. Who.

You mean besides proving that she did lie (see Duke Lacross team). Or are you talking what the punishment itself should be? Proving, beyond a reasonable doubt, would be a fair standard. I wouldn't be happy with "If there's no rape conviction, it's a false accusation" which is how it often seems to be treated. Agree, the problem is too often it is he said vs she said quite often with alcohol involved (which may mean fuzzy memories or at least the perception there of). So not guilty doesn't automatically mean guilty the other way.

thejeff wrote: Martin Sheaffer wrote: thejeff wrote: Sissyl wrote: Rape, like many other crimes, is difficult to prosecute because there are no witnesses, usually just the two people in question. This leads to few convictions, because the legal principle is "beyond reasonable doubt". So, you need to show that not only were the two in the same place, not merely having intercourse, but that the victim did not want to have sex at that time. Good luck with that. Hospital can't really help with that last criterium unless there was a struggle. Given this, it doesn't exactly come as a surprise that few convictions for rape happen.
However, there are different conclusions to draw from that. First, you can draw the conclusion that if the legal system really can't do the job (which is arguable), everyone needs to be careful and adjust for it. What would that mean? Well, primarily, don't go to booze parties, leave alcoholic and emotionally dysfunctional partners, call the cops if the s~*! is hitting the fan. The other is easier: Relax the evidence needed to convict someone of rape, possibly demanding that the accused prove their own innocence, thereby shifting the entire burden of proof to the defendant and breaking with centuries of legal tradition. At least it looks better on paper: Assuming an equal number of reports of rape, you get a higher percentage of convictions. That these people were before the law changed tried in court and it was found that "beyond reasonable doubt" was not achieved, well, too bad. Now we have better statistics.
Or in other words, women need to restrict their behavior and never allow themselves to be in any position where they're vulnerable to a man.
Men, on the other hand, should be able to pretty much rape with impunity as long as they stay away from witnesses.
An excellent solution. Maybe you should trying reading ALL of what she wrote. You seem to have read the first half and decided to rant. The second half has nothing to do with what you said. I read... Okay we can agree there. I am not sure what the answer is either. It certainly isn't easy, especially short term as changing general cultural attitudes takes time.

"pissing contest" was my attempt at humor. It may not have translated as well in type as I had hoped. My bad if I offended or indicated I was offended. It wasn't my intent.
On the subject though, we're both above average. You clearly more than I, but we share similar issues. It's just a matter of scale. LOL, and here I was just thinking that it was my attempt at humor that went "plop". No offense taken.

At 6'2'' 200 lbs I am what one might call "a big guy." If you are a big guy what am I at 6'6" and around 280? If I am flying cattle far my knees are already into the seat ahead of me before anyone tries to recline (not counting exit rows). That is why we tend to fly 1st class these days (that and the 3 free checked back with a higher weight limit). :) It's not a pissing contest. You've got bigger problems than me regarding air travel and doorways. No argument here. :-)
If I fly longer than 2 hours and it's not for work I'll give serious consideration for calculating the extra expense of first class into my travel budget. Wasn't trying to get into a pissing contest, it was more of I don't think of 6'2" at "big". It is possible I have a warped perspective of that though. :-)
