"The player has also read through the adventure path books and uses that knowledge to meta-game at critical points"

He is a cheat. KICK HIM OUT.

that was just some self-dep on my part because although I'm happy and have friends, bae & all that, I can be kind of a cornball*.

I am touched by your concern all the same and will take your advice on board. (not in hs now, but when I was, basketball coach was always trying to hit me up to play. the problem was that I'm corn bad at it and at the time the 'you're tall so play ' thing grated along my contrarian streak I guess. I am currently helping out with the rpg club here). it's definitely sad when people feel adrift.

You couldn't have been as bad as I was. I started HS at 6'1" and ended at 6'6" and was never once asked to play basketball. :)

You're right :( I may need to step away from the keyboard for a bit and put a nice soothing record onto the turntable.

45 or 78 RPM?

we talk to him about it a lot, and so has the game store owner, but the game store has a no exclusions policy on their game tables. it's part of the contract for renting them.

I think I would never go into that store again in my life and let them know why. The kind of behavior they are allowing could easily get them involved in a lawsuit at the worst or just drive away customers.

I'd like to live just long enough to be there when they cut off your head and stick it on a pike – as a warning to the next ten generations that some favors come with too high a price. I want to look up into your lifeless eyes and wave . . . like this.

You can purchase things for your character when it is most convenient for you AND the GM. Before, during, after, whatever. Just make sure you aren't interrupting the GM prep, the flow of the game, etc....
And if one game you have to leave due to store closing without time to buy and the next game the GM is running late and you can't buy you are just out of luck? Up to this point I have NEVER seen this rule enforced and my guess is it will be even worse at the big Cons where time tends to be a crunch (after all GMs need time to eat/bio break etc).
How much are you planning to buy that the GM can't just take a quick look of 30-60 seconds and initial off? In all of the games I have GMed, no player has spent more than 2 minutes explaining what they wanted to purchase.
A thought, instead of having to buy in front of the GM can we just not show up and have the GM of our next game sign off our purchaces before the game starts (assuming you didn't get it done at the end of the previous game), thus allowing us time to think about them. This way we get the sign offs but no one is forced to stick around extra time? As I said before I have never had any purchase signed off on, nor has anyone else in the area that I know of.
I don't see why not. If you have a small note with everything you are purchasing, the GM takes a quick look, and then makes sure the Chronicle is signed off.

Cool, you might want to tweak the wording so it doesn't say you have to buy in front of a GM to you need to have a GM sign off your purchases before the characters next game.

Attention all Pathfinders the Blakros Museum will be empty during this ceremony. Please bring your fire, acid, explosives etc and we will take down that vile place once and for all. :)

Maybe as part of this discussion you could ask for suggestions on how to incite more GM's to volunteer at Gencon 2013? It may be a bit hypocritical of me to mention seeing as I did not volunteer to judge. So consider me your target audience.
So if you were walking around Gencon, was there any way (short of you going up to the PFS HQ area and asking) for you to know that Mike would be interested to hear from anyone who could step up and judge scenario X in slot Y? Even an hour or two of advance notice (and a copy of the scenario) could let you do a better job than someone pulled in cold.

Maybe set up a emergency GM sign up system where a GM can volunteer to

be "on call" and what modules he can run. That along with a phone number/text number to communicate might help get more last second volunteers.

Now to compliment Science CHannel, I do enjoy Head Rush. Sure it's mostly Mythbusters edits but a) no commericals b) Kari does do real science in her bits and c) it's perfectly timed for the young heads of mush to enjoy when they get home from school.

It has Kari, what more needs to be said?

I am begging you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE stay true to Pathfinder and don't go off on the stanard over inflated power curve like DDO did. In that game by the time you hit your mid-teens you are crafting what seem to be minor artifacts for armor/weapons. A level 20 tank in that game for any of the harder content better have an AC of at least the mid-70's and 700+ hit points (even a level 20 wizard needs 450+ hitpoints). I loved the lower end of the game but it just felt to MMOish as it went on.

Also I hope we see over land areas to explore and not just dungeons as the exploring part of the game is a huge thing to many people.

Are you SURE you are only 27? Maybe you are really older but are starting to remember only the old times while forgetting the new ones. ;)

Is there a list anywhere yet of the rule differences between Core rules and the beginner box? I know there are no attacks of opportunity but am wondering about others. I will be playing or running Saturday (depending on attendance) so i figure a quick cheat sheet would be handy. Anyone got their hands on a copy yet? I have to wait till after work to go get one (boo hiss).
