Appearance:
A lanky young man with dark unkempt hair. His face is long and he has a high brow with a widows peak. His face is good featured and usually has a rakish grin. He is possessed of a wiry strength and a dancers grace that shows as he moves. His chain shirt is typically not visible as he walks around in his civilian clothes, but his dueling sword is prominently carried.

History
Marco was born the son of Enrico, Compt d'Enrotheld, a famous Taldan noble and explorer. He was brought up well and educated at the university of Oppara. He had some talent there, and the duellists there trained him well in fencing.
Word came then of his father being lost somewhere in the Razor Coast region while he was exploring there. Only his father's journal was delivered to him, as well as the sword he had made as a gift.
As the eldest child, he would have inherited the title and lands of his father, but his youngest brother framed Marco for treason (given the current emperor, not difficult at all) and he was forced to flee.
Having no other direction in his life, he embarked on the long voyage to the far side of the world; there to seek his father using the clues scattered through the pages of his father's journal, and possibly his fortune as well.
He voyages to the Razor Coast.

Plot Hooks:
Who knows what clues and maps and directions are in his fathers journal... Think Indiana Jones' journal.
And, since his brother will never be really secure until Marco is dealt with, legal bounty hunters (to capture and take him back to Taldor) and assassins (to make sure that doesn't happen) may well complicate things.
