So stop makin' 'em.

Cuz it's rude.

And hurts real peoples' feelings.

If I used the term "Toon" rather than PC, what would you say? What arguments would you use for or against it?

Thus far, one of the more convincing arguments I've heard is that using lingo from a different type of game (in this case, MMOs) could cause confusion; however, this particular word doesn't seem all that egregious—most people, even having not played an MMO, could pick up from the surrounding context that "Toon"=PC.

Thoughts?

Hey gaiz!
While doing research for this related thread, I and a friend of mine made a flowchart for perceiving traps, detect magic included.
Tell me what you think!

Flowchart

So, here I am GMing RoW, and we come across a spell trap:

Snows of Summer spoiler:
Specifically, the sound burst spell trap in the snowman at the Icy Crossing

This got me wondering: if someone were to perceive a spell trap (which anyone can) how would they know the trigger?
How would they know the mechanism?
If they exceed the DC by 5, how would they know the outcome?

As regards Trapfinding and Disable Device, how does a Rogue disable a spell trap?

So, I get that Alchemists don't need a full round to cast spells with a 1 round casting time (drinking an extract is a standard action, thus an alchemist could move, then drink an extract of, say, enlarge person); however, when would said extract come into effect?
Immediately?
Or at the start of his next turn, as is normal with spells of that casting time?
I can't really seem to find an "official" answer to this question, so if someone could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hai gaiz, long-time lurker, first-time poster. My question:
What if we just made muskets into breech-loading versions?
Apparently, this was tried in the past, but it could never work properly as the break leaked too much gas. So, what if Alkenstar has fixed this problem? Then, musket-wielders could have breech-loaded rather than muzzle-loaded muskets, thus making the reload times far more believable. Still almost supernaturally fast, but no longer ridiculously so.
No change to mechanics, just to flavor. I like this reskin a lot, as does my gunslinger in the RoW campaign I'm running. A reload for him goes like this (with the breech-loaded version):
Break; stuff pre-wrapped ball into hanging barrel; pour powder on top of ball; close barrel; cock hammer.
Much more reasonable than imagining the pour, stuff, and ram version of a muzzle-loader, all in less than six seconds, IMO.
As for powder in the pan, we reskin that as percussion caps or a wheel-lock.
What do you think?
