Of course they are. You should ask him why casters are allowed to have more than one spell at time working. If you can't have more than one feat active, how can they have more than one spell active?

You are being royally screwed over by this ruling. It's blatantly wrong and completely unfair.

I would take some time to sit down and talk with your GM, on a separate day from when you game. Tell him that his harsh (and incorrect) interpretation of the rules is very frustrating and unfair to you, and that it's making the casters far more powerful than you (than they are already). Simply put, you are not having fun at the table. And that is the only goal of this game. Playing should relieve tension and stress caused by our daily lives, not cause more.

But remember to approach him in a very respectful manner. He is a human being, and also your friend. Explain things calmly, telling him how you feel without making accusations directed at him.

If all of that fails and he continues to go with his (incorrect) ruling, then ask to rebuild your character. Be adamant. Tell him you were not informed about his take on the rules and you would not have built your character this way. And then build a wizard and destroy all of the puny martial characters he sends at you.

lol 2 sessions later I finally am allow something beside clubs and javelins and I have to train in game for months before I can change my weapon training and weapon focus.

How are the other players feeling about this whole situation?

Hahahahaha, oh man I don't know if we can even help this one. Either we are being very expertly trolled or this GM is completely oblivious.

I was losing my mind during the session trying to keep calm to talk to him afterwards. Everything I tried he shut me down.

He also said whirlwind attack you lose all bonuses including dodge and weapon focus.

Your GM is absolutely wrong.

There will not be an official FAQ on the matter because the answer is so obvious.

The burden of proof is on your GM, not you. Feats like toughness and iron will work together. Do you have to choose to either activate your increased health or increased will save? No, because unless stated otherwise, the abilities of all feats can be used together. Ask your GM where the rules say you can't use feats together.

he calls all other feats passive but feats like power attack and combat expertise that have to be activated to use for a attack he says its common sense that u couldn't whirlwind more powerfully that normal. And u can't defend your self if useing Power attack.

Wait...

AoO's now fall under "extra attacks"?

I feel that tripping everyone with whirlwind attack and then proceeding to get AoO's from vicious stomp and greater trip are within rules. The wording of Whirlwind Attack is "extra or bonus *attacks", not "extra or bonus attacks and/or attacks of opportunity".

Though I could see the confusion (IE there is the attack action, the attack roll, and an attack IE part of a full attack), I feel that whirlwind attack only limits attacks, no attacks of opportunity (hopefully you can see where I'm coming from, it's ok to disagree with my logic though O.o).

You are correct. Attacks of Opportunity happen outside the normal combat round, and so are not affected by Whirlwind Attack.

The limitation placed back on Pathfinder Whirlwind Attack was copied from 3.5 Whirlwind Attack, when Cleave and Great Cleave gave you bonus attacks when you dropped an opponent. In Pathfinder, Cleaving is different, more like Whirlwind Attacking, and the effect of the old Cleave is now in a Feat called Cleaving Finish and Great, Cleaving Finish.

So, you can't use Cleaving Finish in conjunction with Whirlwind Attack. You probably can't use Shield Slam in conjunction with Whirlwind Attack. You can't use Hamatula Strike with Whirlwind Attack.

thanks for trying.

I agree with everyone that you can combine most feats. I am looking for a official ruling or errata that I could look up or present to my Dm so I can keep playing my character. My DM is strictly by the book but his interpretation and "common sense" is weird to me.

My DM doesn't allow any feats that require activation. He says you can't feat a feat. His argument is that u can only use whirlwind or cleave one way and any others is illogical.

So I can combine feats but not ones that require two seperate special actions. Thanks if possible could I get a official ruling so I can politely declare in the nicest way I was right. Lol

I gest started playing and I am playing a fighter. My GM told me I am not allowed to use two feats in combination like power attack and whirlwind or lunge and combat expertise. I don't think this is true but he doesn't think that feats can be use in combination and the rulebook doesn't cover it in detail.
