How strange, Maia thinks to her companions. I did not expect a hacker of sensitive information to have so little technology immediately visible. Should we assume this is the potential asset in question? There was, of course, the possibility that they were in the wrong spot. Even so, she eyes Alpha warily, worried that he's more interested in shooting first and asking questions later.

Maia nods as the woman speaks, but agrees with Lynn. A good point, she says to the popstar. It would have been awkward if they'd gotten into trouble trying to do as Historia-7 asked. At the same time, she wondered if not getting caught to begin with might be what Historia-7 was hoping for.

Huffing a bit, Maia moves to keep up with the feathery thing, pistol at the ready. She had a good number of questions, but none that would help in the midst of a fight. The envoy tries to take cover behind the crate-like boxes as she aims another shot.

Maia moved up and stared, still not entirely comfortable with what she was looking at. I don't suppose diplomacy would work here? she asked the others weakly. Now that it was just barely in range, she aimed and shot at it, fingers shaky. Perhaps too shaky.

Maia breathes a quiet sigh of relief when they're deemed successful. She doesn't say as much, but she's privately very, very glad no one had shot at the poor thing, especially with what the ysoki had said. All's well that ends well, she thinks decidedly. Telepathically, even.

Is anyone particularly good with animals and other creatures? Maia asks the group. Her own skills with such were minimal - something she resolved to fix. It obviously does not want to harm us - but as I do not share a language with it, I cannot calm it with my usual methods. Her telepathic voice might come off as a bit abashed at that.

Despite her inability to communicate with the creature, Maia attempts to get a little closer, trying not to aggravate the... person? She's not entirely sure.

Thank you, Maia says, echoing Lynn's words. She's pleased that they were able to at least get an honest answer from the children despite their evident guilt. She can't help but be a little concerned at Lynn's gentle treatment of the situation. Not knowing what the 'pet' was concerned her, especially considering whatever it was might've ruined the circuitry or wiring or whatever it was that had caused power to go out.

Is that wise? she asks Lynn, curious what the android's reasoning is.

To anyone within range of her telepathy, she projects, Can we get rid of that harpoon? The tone she takes is more one of curiosity than demand or frustration - if they can get rid of it, excellent. If not, well. They'd have to find some other way to make do.

Very much amused - and pleased by - Lynn's running commentary on the event, Maia does her best to help out where she can on the circuit. If she's in the gunner's chair, she makes an attempt at Ratrod. It doesn't do, after all, to allow such a blatant insult to go unanswered.

When Maia enters, it's with the quiet squeak of boots against the floor. She's tall and slender, dressed fairly neatly in a plain old shirt and some hardy looking pants. Her hair is brushed back, making obvious the antennae-like appendages that marked her as a lashunta just as her figure notes that she's of the damaya.

There's an industrial backpack over her shoulder which contains most of her things, but her weapon - the only weapon anyone can see on her - is a tactical semi-automatic pistol holstered at her belt.

Rather than speaking aloud, she gently touches the minds of those in the room, allowing them to withdraw from her telepathy if they choose, and greets them all with an easy, Hello; I am Maia.

She accepts the materials for the cheek swab and turns slightly to swab her mouth privately before pausing at Guidance for a few considering moments. At last, she extends her hand and allows the subdermal implant to be installed.

Curious, she activates the implant immediately and smiles gently before deactivating it and allowing her hand to fall to her side.
