Star Voter Season 9

AH! I'm finally on the list! For the love of all that's holy I was terrified I'd been DQ'd for some reason. Whoo! I can stop obsessing for a second and breathe. Damn.

Generally, map out the areas your players are likely to go in the near future; add more maps as you determine where the players are likely to go. Don't try and do the whole thing before anyone stars playing.

That's generally what I try to do, but I've got a fair few months to plan and plot so I was thinking of working ahead.

Plus having every conceivable map for this adventure already drawn up has a certain appeal both for this game and any future run-through.

Still I think you're right.

For now only the obvious areas need be drawn.

This thing. It's probably the most immersive mapping experience you'll ever see.

That is quite possibly the greatest fusion of tech and tabletop I have yet seen. Expensive to set up though. Can you imagine having two DMs? One for the story and one to run sight and sound? Incredible.

Still, this runs right into biting off more than I can chew. I need to develop an efficient but beautiful presentation method. Plus I like drawing the maps myself.

I think it adds something.

Hello all! I'm rather new to all of this and while I've run a few games for friends and family my preparations for these games has been minimal. I'm looking to improve my presentation and provide as immersive an experience as possible without overburdening myself (I tend to bite off more than I can chew when I get excited).

I'm running some friends through the Emerald Spire right now (lots of fun) and I've been focusing on beautiful map presentation. I'm quite proud of the result.

SO! We've come far enough that we're talking about the next adventure, and I happen to have The Rise of the Runelords campaign on hand. This is a more complicated proposition than a simple (if dangerous and highly entertaining) uberdungeon. I've loaded up on supplies and I'm preparing to map out the whole thing with dungeon paper, markers, and an iron will.

My question to you, oh forum, is this: Should I go the extra thousand miles and map out every conceivable place where action might take place? I envision a kind of massive portfolio of maps and hand drawn dungeons (laminated for future use), but this is the kind of headache I might not want.

In addition, regardless of what I do in regard to the maps, have you any interesting theatrical devices or props I could consider for this campaign?
I live to bring the story alive for my players! I'd like to take the time to put some love into this project, but also keep what remains of my sanity.

Any feedback is appreciated!
