![]() As you walk Lonjiku tries to answer your questions about the 'god of monsters.' The backstories on everything in ROTRL is extremely complex, so i'm boiling things down My family moved the glassworks factory into this old building 50 years ago, just after the founding of Sandpoint. Not long after, my father found out some of his employees were engaged in smuggling within ancient tunnels underneath the factory. He had the smugglers arrested, then took a team of adventurers down there to explore. They found something: a well, surrounded by archaic runes. And a monster so terrible it scared the adventurer's out. They bricked up the entrance to the tunnels trapping the monster inside. Then about 5 years ago I heard sounds coming from those catecombs. I investigated with some trusted Bloodynuckles and found that B%tch Nualia, who burned down the cathedral. She had been given horrible powers under the tutalage of the monster in the catecombs. These powers came from her new diety, Lamashtu, the godess of monsters. It took all our effort to drag Nualia from the catacombs, fight off the beast, and re-brick the wall. Now Nualia is back and I know she has dark plans for this down. Yesterday while the goblins raided she sent my son Tsuto to steel the body of Nualia's stepfather, priest of Desna, in order to perform some dark ritual. Tsuto has always loved Ameiko. If she agrees to join him in serving Nualia she will surely be lost in slavery to Lamastu as he is. If she says no, then she will know too much and Tsuto will not keep her alive. Just then Kvothe flys back and alights on Boo's shoulder. ![]()
![]() Lonjiku slowly rises from his seated position. He looks at Dair. Perhaps you would be right, but for such as me there can be no redemption. Then he looks at Boo. And wizard, I know that you do not know my family history, why my son and daughter are so dangerous to eachother. And you do not know of the troubles plaguing this town these past years. But I assure you, If I do not go to save my daughter, she will either be enslaved to the god of monsters, or imprisoned until death. If I was wrong about you all then I... But before an apology can slip from his mouth his face becomes stern again. His pride gets the better of him. He turns and begins to walks slowly away... ![]() Jingles! I think all 4 thugs are down dying now. Kaijatsu's last thug hits the ground with an arrow in his back, shot from Menelei as Dair stepped away. Still covered in grease Kaijatsu visibly gives up. He sits down dejected in a lotus position. I have no honor left. Kill me quickly. It is better for me to die than live. Coup de gras now available on Lonjiku Kaijatsu. The thugs will fail their constitution checks and all be dead in about 2 minutes unless they are stabilized. ![]()
![]() Dair still needs to post his round 6 actions, and I'll apply them when he does. But since Boo and Eyotah didn't try/succeed in Diplomacy with these terrorists, Dair's Aid wouldn't make Menelei's check high enough to make the thugs quit this round.
