Llyrann was a foundling left on the temple of Calistria's doorstep. A girl child with no parents, Llyran was raised as the property of the temple and assigned the chores of tending to animals and later training the temple beasts. An exceptionally beautiful girl, as she matured into adolescence, she was trained to assist petitioners (mostly human men) in the worship of Calistria. Llyrann learned to mistrust humans and to embrace the vengeance aspect of her goddess.
Despite stealing mystical texts from the temple archives again and again, she had not the slightest aptitude for divine magic and her efforts earned her only beatings, then chains. One day, Llyrann found freedom, at least, by convincing a half-orc ranger to smuggle her out of the temple who taught her something of weapons and nature. But LLyrann was nearly as ill-suited to living in the wild as she was divine magic and eventually left him, looking for someone or something that would enable her to wield the wrath of the goddess.
