Jeraa- Thanks for clarifying. That makes sense not being able to attack someone right next to me with a long weapon.

Ascalaphus - Thank you for the link. I will read it more in depth later. I'd imagine the diagram on D20 will suffice, as we play an extremely casual game, but I will discuss with the DM to make sure.

Sorry for the more basic questions. I'm still relatively new to Pathfinder.

Scenario - I am a medium-sized human using a Great Axe. A party member uses Enlarge Person on me.

Links - Space/Reach - http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/combat/space-reach-threatened-area-te mplates
Enlarge Person - http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/e/enlarge-person

Various Questions:
Based on the space/reach link, there are two large options (Long and Tall). Based on the description of Enlarge Person, the 10 feet of natural reach make me think that I'd be considered tall. Is this correct?

Because of my assumption there, on the space/reach sheet, I would use the "Large (Tall)" grid for my attack layout, but I'd only use the green grid, as my Great Axe doens't have reach. Is this also correct?

If I were using a weapon with reach, like a Glaive, then I'd use the green and red grid for attacking enemies?

Thanks in advance for answering my silly questions!

Ok, thanks. you guys are awesome with the quick answers.

I thought I was done... One more question. If I take my single attack with plans of Cleaving, can I use Vital Strike or not? I guess my question is, is Cleave an extension of the first attack, or is it seperate for the purposes of feats like Vital Strike?

Awesome, thanks for the answers!

Those were my assumptions based on the descriptions. My follow-up is, Cleaving Finish doesn't specify if it is a standard action or what. What is it considered? And can I use improved cleaving finish until my heart is content without it affecting my ability to cleave or make a second attack depending on the scenario?

Hello. I am relatively new to Pathfinder, and I have a couple questions regarding Cleave. For both scenarios, let’s assuming I’m a level 9 Fighter.

Scenario 1 – I have 2 enemies directly in front of me. Do I need to “declare my intent” to Cleave before I make my first attack? Depending on that answer, what are my options if my first attack misses? Can I take my second attack instead of Cleaving?

Scenario 2 – I have 2 enemies directly in front of me. I swing and hit the first one, and I Cleave into and hit the second one. My question is, with Cleave being a standard action, and taking both attacks I get at level 6+ being a full round action, am I able to still take my second attack for the round after Cleaving? If I assume yes, can I Cleave again if my 2nd attack hits?

Thanks in advance for your help!
