Hiring it out is fine. GM Hawthwile, could you indicate on my chronicle that I'm purchasing spellcasting services to have Dewberry raised?

I do want to buy a scroll of raise animal companion and the requisite diamond. Narratively, another snake is not the same Dewberry, and mechanically, it would not be the same Dewberry, since the Razorscales boon would go away.

Lisianthus looks at the creature solemnly, then at Dewberry's lifeless body.

"At least we did it. We avenged her. And protected all the people this thing was going to hurt."

Lisianthus flies through the acid fog.

"You can make it through! It's clear over here!"

Lisianthus shifts back into an air elemental.

Can she see it from where she is?

I think Dewberry is dead dead, Orst, so you don't need to waste the lay on hands unless you think your character would do that anyway just to know for sure.

Lisianthus, grief-stricken, stands over the body of her beloved companion.

"People usually misunderstand snakes. They fear them. They think that they're scary and dangerous. I guess that's why I've always loved them. They're like me. People think I'm scary too, just because of who I am."

When Dolph brings her wands over, Lisanthus heals herself up.

"There is magic, powerful magic, that can fix this. But first we need to finish what we came here to do. Let's see what else is in this cavern."

True, if she needs to in order to reach a creature! She doesn't have a trick for that kind of positioning from Lisianthus, though.

GM, I should have asked for a ruling on something earlier! The Core Rulebook is not terribly clear on animal companions getting reach as they get their size boost. The big snakes in Bestiary 2 have reach, so GMs I've played with have normally ruled Dewberry as having reach as a large constrictor snake. If you rule that more conservatively and say that she doesn't have reach, Lis won't call in Dewberry for this fight, since she can't get adjacent.

Sorry, I haven't played this character in a while and I forgot about the dreaded table variation!

Lisianthus casts shillelagh on her club and moves in toward the creature.

"Dewberry, attack!"

Dewberry Reflex save going over the bridge: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Dewberry slithers in as close as she can get.

Lisianthus moves straight in.

Stairs sound good. I'm fine with half speed to take 10 on tracking, but if anyone wants us to move faster and not bother, that's fine too.

Lisianthus has +13 to Survival and has darkvision. She'll watch for signs of creatures (taking 10 if allowed).

Lis also casts greater magic fang and barkskin on Dewberry.

Lisianthus casts longstrider on both herself and Dewberry from a wand. She also asks if anyone could cast from her wand of mage armor on both herself and Dewberry. ”I tried to get her fitted for barding but the poor dear just kept crawling out of it.”

"A place beneath and below, yet there is much light...could be the Scintillating Halls or the Shining Deep. The Shining Deep has had cave-ins. Perhaps there?"

"Yes, Horus Ilaktya asked that we investigate, and this is where all of our leads take us."

Lisianthus accepts the turnip happily and gives Victor scritches on his chin.

If Xilt's snake friend should emerge from his pack, Lisianthus will immediately coo and fuss over it.

The woman in front of you has flowers braided into her long red hair and colorful ribbons attached to her dragonhide armor, obvious attempts to soften the appearance of a large and muscular half-orc. It is less effective than she would like.

She greets you cheerfully. "Hello! My name is Lisianthus Zernike. I was named for the green flower. I know it's a mouthful; you can just call me Lis if that's easier. And this is my snake, Dewberry! She's such a good girl."

Similarly, the collar of wildflowers does little to make the enormous snake with razor-sharp scales look like any less of a threat. You suspect that she is not a good girl.

"Yes, let us speak with Horus!"

Lisianthus pulls out her waterskin for Swareti to have a drink.

"Oh, you poor dear! Do you need food, water, healing? I'm sure we can get you out of those chains....My name is Lisianthus, by the way. I was named for the flower."

Lisianthus pulls out the key she found earlier. Does it fit this lock?

"Dewberry, no! He'll give you terrible indigestion!"

Speaking to the mask she still wears, "Tanbaru, do you recognize that voice?"

Lisianthus tries to hit him with her fire fist before he disappears under the ground.
