Okay. I got an email from Goblinworks with a link for installing Pathfinder Alpha. I go there and try to register, but it says my email is already in use so I use the forgot username link and it tells me there is no account associated with my email address. I follow the links to the Paizo link tool and it takes me to a blank page. Help?
I'm loving the discussion I started. I'm seeing good points from both sides, and even though I'm on the side of getting SOMETHING out of the gaming session besides warm fuzzies for playing with your friends and aquaintences, I understand why that isn't currently the case. I would like to offer a counter argument to the people who say that replayers might cheapen the experience by using their prior knowledge to gain an advantage by saying that the people that would do that are also likely the people that would just pirate the adventures and read them ahead of time. Maybe a compromise? Only allow rewards for replays for prior seasons? That way it's less likely that newer stuff that fewer people have played get spoilers revealed by unscrupulous players?
I was at a society game Friday night when an issue with a fellow player came up. His character was in dire straits and nearly died when he learned that even though he had already played the scenario and was getting no rewards from it, if his character died he was still dead by society rules. He had a bit of a breakdown, said he was deleting his characters and never playing again. Immature way of handling things, sure, but it did make me wonder about the whole no rewards thing. It does seem a bit harsh to impose the same penalties on a character when there is, in fact, no rewards at stake. If a player just wants to play to enjoy time with his friends and help out the group by offering an extra sword or spell it doesn't feel right that they should be at risk when they've nothing to gain out of it. It's easy to tell someone "you don't have to play" or "suck it up, that's just how things are." But really it's kinda dickish. Gaming is meant to be a fun, sociable thing to do with your friends, and I don't see why even a small reward can't be given to replays or at least a limitation on the risks. Otherwise there really is no reason to replay a scenario and we're limiting our player base as noone in their right mind is going to gamble a character they've put a lot of time and effort into when there's nothing to get out of it. Just starting this thread to get some thoughts and ideas churning, nothing here is intended to enflame or belittle the system.
You make a good argument. higher con will be more of a benefit up front and I can double dip at 8 and 12 for dex. Thinking of just half and half on the level split. I like the Energy body for later levels too. Just pass through someone's square to heal them. Good thought on the stabilize, forgot about that cantrip
Okay I think I like this for final ability scores: STR 10
That gives me 4 odd stats that can be bumped up to the next category with level bumps Bump Charisma at 4, Con at 8, Dex at 12, Wis at 16 (If we ever get our level cap raised) So what about feats? Are my initial selections good ones or should I be looking at something else?

You'll have a mithril chain shirt before too long, Armor Expert is a waste. The multiclassing is really just the roleplay concept I have in my head A young Kitsune who just wants to be a bard, explore ancient ruins and tell the tales of grand adventurers, but the gods have other plans for her and so she bounces back and forth between the two.
Ryan Koetsveld wrote: 5 strength is going to be a very bad idea, you're going to be at a medium load from armor and your crossbow, factor in other gear and you'll probably make it to a heavy load. Yeah I was looking at that :( Does this look better?STR 8
WIS isn't really needed for either Bard or Oracle
I've got a concept in my head for a Kitsune Oracle(Life)/Bard as a strictly support character and was wanting to see what people thought about her. The image I have in my mind is someone who stays on the outskirts of combat, playing her flute, inspiring courage, buffing with bless spells, etc. To this end I was thinking of making Str her dump stat so that she would have high dex and Cha. This would be her stats after racial mods Str 5
For beginning traits I was thinking of picking up:
Also considering Armor Expert to reduce the check penalty of masterwork chain shirt to 0 For weapon I'm thinking light crossbow. Doesn't rely on str, she can fire it when there's an opening for her to do so in combat. First Revelation Channel
I won't be getting many feats from this build, but I thought rapid reload, point blank shot, and precise shot should at least be in there. Maybe selective channeling. Thoughts? Ideas?
Blood of Fiends does not have the alternate racial traits presented in the Advanced Race Guide like Vestigial Wings, or Prehensile Tail, so you'll need to own both books if you wish to fully personalize your character. That's what I love about Tieflings though, They're so moldable. It's almost like having access to the racial creation section of the ARG
If you have a low-level character that doesn't have enough prestige for the raise dead portion, but can pay to have her body retrieved, can you then pay the raise dead prestige with a separate character who is also in Shadow Lodge? I had a character die at level 2 in a party wipe adventure. I wouldn't care, except that I was using a dhampir boon so it wastes the boon :(

That being said, anyone have an extra Kitsune sheet laying around? :)
Hi there. I have pending orders from the goblinworks kickstarter that say they need an address from me before they can ship, however when I go to the section under my account for adding or changing shipping addresses it simply says "You have no active shipping address" There is no link to edit, or add an address at all. How do I add my shipping address?
So if Paizo is unwilling to make any more shirts of the other factions and faction-loyal members without shirts to wear are denied rerolls simply because they don't wish to wear an opposed faction's shirt this hardly seems fair. If we take it upon ourselves to have a faction shirt made may we use it as a reroll shirt?
One thing that I really want to see and that has been very lacking in the MMO world is extremely customizeable characters. City of Heroes does this right with a very VERY robust character appearance system. Especially for women I would like to see some more realistic options. Every Warrior woman running around with giant jiggling boobs might appeal to lots of people, but it seems almost a gaff. I would just like a slider for body type that can let us play something that doesn't look like they've spent all their gp on gnomish inflateable implants.
I was just trying to research this looking for an errata or something. My book shows exactly what the OP says, identical text for fighting defensively as a full round vs a standard action. However if you look under the acrobatics skill it states that if you have 3 or more ranks in acrobatics that you receive a +3 bonus to AC instead of the +2 bonus for fighting defensively, and a +6 bonus instead of a +4 bonus when doing a full defensive action So which is the typo?
I hope they bring it back. I have a character concept in mind and a Dhampir would really fit the bill. Another question about character creation. The wording in the PFS organized play book concerning HP after level 1 is a little confusing. It sounds almost as if you get max hp at any time you take a first level in a class regardless of if it is your first class or not. Is that correct?
Hey guys! This is Wes from the Kickstarter group. I ponied up $1k It hurt, but I had the space on my credit card and I have a really low APR so it's all good! I just wanted to play in an alpha test group for once! Still can't believe how awesome the roleplay community was during this. And this is JUST the technology demo. I'm not sure if they are planning on putting the actual game on kickstarter or rely on more mainstream backers, but either way we really showed them that we're starving for a different kind of game. A game that kicks mmo stereotypes to the curb. I just hope that Goblinworks sticks to their guns on this and doesn't get wishy-washy with the sandbox premise.
Hi! I just recently joined the Pathfinder society and I was reading through the material for character creation and had a few questions. I'm wanting to play a Dhampir, but I know that you have to have boons? or something like that to play non-core races? Could someone please explain how that works, and if these boons are possible to purchase outside of events, etc. Second question I had: Is the Aldori Dueling blade legal equipment, and does the rule apply that if you have the exotic weapon feat to use it then you can apply weapon finesse to it as well? I'm sure I will come across other questions, but hopefully this will get me started :)
