Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

I'm here as well

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra waits as the group leaves, giving them a substantial start before exiting the room. She waits for the group's filthy stalker to follw them then ghosts into step behind him maintaining the perfect distance and positioningas to be imperceptible.

Like a ninja!

Liandra chuckles winking at Iridae and giving Omaz a huge grin.

"Agreed on all counts Irry, except for the part about you not being convincing."

She glances over at Sam'hain thoughtfully. "She's right Sam, you're a lot better at earning people's trust, the kind of man you are, you wear it on your breastplate, it's why people follow you. You bonding with the Captain is probably the best chance we have of him believing us"

She pauses, grinning wickedly.

"I on the other hand am far more suited to following shady bastards tdown dark alleys and making them wish they'd minded their own business. Thing is, this guy is obviously good aat his job, and otherr than Irry's invisibility trick I doubt any of you could join me tailing him without him catching sight and rabbiting. If he gets aggressive, well I can be very persuasive at times."
.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

"I think it's a little more complicated. He probably thinks being lyal to his country is being loyal to the Baron.Which means if we can prove the Baron a traitor, we have an ally that can sway the keep's forces.....and if not, we find ourselves facing every soldier in this place."

Liandra shakes her head and chuckles as she contemplates their odds.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Lindra couldn't help the smile that crept across her face. Seeing Irry express her opinion, especially to someone with as strong a presence as Sam'hain showed just how much her companion had grown.

"Good job keeping cover Sam," she says with a grin. "We should probably take this upstairs, and while we're at it, get the drop on the pig pen basterd that followed you in here."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra scans the crowd as Sam'hain speaks seeking a tell tale reaction or a sign of the mistletoe indicating a contact.

"It wasn;t so much a proclamation as a declaration of a state of alert. The've observed an "enemy force" approaching and getting all avaiable soldiers ready for potential incursion. The town's on lockdown now, nobody in or out."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Perception1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15

"Hmm. good catch Omaz, I'm surprised I missed that. Looks like you brought company boys."Liandra waits to see if their companions reactions indicate immediate danger.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

The Blade:

Message: "He definitely has the full attention and support of his men, nobody seems to be against his words or acts like they know what's going on. The question is how receptive will he be to the Baron being a traitor?"

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

The Blade:

During the Captain's speech, Liandra's sharp eyes focus not on the man speaking but on those listening, scanning the faces of the guards for any sign of a reaction that might indicate dissent.

Perception1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Is the man with the heraldry still at the table?

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Knowledge checks are trained only and I don't have Nobility

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra returns Iridae's smile with one of her own.

"I think I can do a pretty good job of dissuading anyone with light fingers. We won't be needing the private lock"

After the barmaid leaves to retreve the keys she leaans forward.

"While I don's necessarily trust anyone here right now, random guards all getting private locks for their rooms might arouse suspicion. They might not think anything of you getting a lock Omaz, since they'll probably think you an outlander. That way we an all keep anything extra valuable in your room anyway."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

The Blade:

Liandra couldn't help the small smile that reached her lips.

Given her past Iridae was quite perceptive when it came to the interactions between people, and subtly pointing out that Omaz would have a room to himself was brilliant. She had definitely picked up on the girl's attraction to the exotic warrior, and left the perfect opening should she feel the need to seek protective arms.

As the girl walked away she gave Iridae a subtle nod and a wink.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

The Blade:

Liandra glances back over at the foppish man, concealing a sneer.

"Two I suppose, perhaps three."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Perception1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

The blade:

As they enter the tavern Liandra takes in the scene, the variety of activity keeping her attention from being drawn to anything in particular.

It is with both surprise and a bit of pride that Iridae's message indicates the barmaid has been abused. A low growl sounds in the back of Liandra's throat, one that Iridae knows usually ends with someone on the floor choking on their arrogance, and she clenches her fists as she watches the girl called over by Omaz, studying her reaction and looking at her eyes to see if she glances at anyone in particular when asked about the bruises.

Perception1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

I think we'll hit them one at a time.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra grins and nods at the powerful warrior.

On the field he's full of confidence but in a city, this is my territory.

"The best, the more people drink the looser their tongues, especially towards the person paying for the next round."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra watches from her place near the carriage, studying the Paladin's reaction. Though he was far less prideful than the old days, these idiot guards were pushing their luck.

She glanced down at the crossbow she had sitting on the pommel of her saddle, making sure the loaded bolt was still ready.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra studies the gates and the defenses.

"Once we get inside we act like any other guard just off the road, fall in with the general populace, then start rooting through contacts for information."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Aware of the message spell still active Liandra's mouth quirks slightly as she speaks quietly.

Celestial whisper:

"It's ok,he's not making fun of you, just a comment."

Liandra nods in agreement to the plan.

"I'll ride alongside the wagon, one up front, one behind and two alongside would make sense as appropriate protection from bandits and the like."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

That works. It's funny, I always think of Message as hearing the Nextel chirp and then the other person's voice. ;)

Liandra smiles as Iridae speaks, happy to see her speak her mind.

"I'm far from the most religious person around, but I have to say, all that fiend worship crap really needs to come to an end."

She tilts her head from side to side, the vertibrae in her neck audibly cracking in sequence.

"Looks like we need to remove something that's poisoning the town, and sooner or later, the nation. Let's go save a country." she finishes with a roguish grin.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

"Honestly,if he can't talk, see or move his hands, you're good," Liandra quips.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra leans closer to Iridae as she whispers.

Celestial whisper:

"He doesn't sound like the type to be persuaded by morality, but everybody deserves a chance I suppose. Maybe you can be the merchan's daughter, or apprentice...but definitely too delecate looking to pass for a bodyguard."

"So...when do we get started towards this "Baron"? It sounds as if we're on a tight deadline. Are we expected to arrest him? That could cause problems if there are enough loyal to him."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra's lips twitch in a tiny smile at Sam'hain's actions, not mocking but somewhat amused at the drama involved. Looking to Iridae she can see her excitement and her resolve.

As Irri nods her agreeement, Liandra takes a deep breath, thrill of a dangerous mission bringing that familiar rush.

"I'm in. As is my companion Iridae." she says indicating her friend. "We'll show this bastard what happens to traitors, and keepthe town safe." her tone is respectful albeit far more familiar that is probably aappropriate, perfectly in keeping with her personality.

Tarlane:

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra's eyes narrow as she turns her gaze towards the direction Iridae indicates, her body language shifting in a manner that brought on an aura of violence.

She glared at the snickering men. "Sure Irry we can go inside, and maybe I'll come back out and share a few words with them."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra looked at the approaching warrior, nodding at his polite interruption, noting that he had at least made it close enough to determine what language they had been speaking.

Celestial:

"Of course."

She reaches over, taking Iridae's right hand, and knowing the strength of Sam'hain's grip gave her hand a quick, half squeeze, half massage.

celestial:

"I know it's a lot to tae in and I know there's a lot of people but just breathe ok. You'll be fine."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Liandra grins grabbing the massive armored warrior's arm in a friendly clasp.

"Sam'hain, good to see you've managed to keep a head on those broad shoulders over the last few years."

She looks over her shoulder as her companion. "Iridae, this is Sam'hain, nowhere near as scary as he looks but every bit as good in a fight as you'd think."[b] she laughs.

[b]....and this is Iridae, I can count at least five occasions in the last 3 years where I'd be dead if it were'nt for this little lady.."

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

Ok fully updated background to reflect shared history, shifted one skill point to spend on Celestial, makes sense that she's learn it over the past 3 years.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2

A tall attractive half elven woman in black leather armor enters the assembly so smoothly that practically no one recalls her entrance. She stands almost perfectly still, eyes scanning the area for any sign of danger, as ridiculous as that seems considering the setting.

Nodding quietly to herself she looks back over her shoulder with an encouraging smile at the mind numbingly beautiful young woman behind her, a cloak only barely capable of concealing her stunning features.

The contrast between the two is unmistakable, as while the younger of the two carries an almost golden aura around her, the half-elf seems to be a living sliver of night given silent form, a feeling of impending violence subtly radiating from her.

Liandra slowly makes her way through the assembled soldiers, as shrewd eye assessing soldiers, scanning faces until one brings a genuine grin across her lips.

Samhain. It's been a long time. Looks like he's kept himself out of trouble. she thought, remebering the encounter with the then spoiled noble that had established in her mind that everyone could be saved.

To Samhain and Iridae. Updating background to reflect shared history, and past few years in Iridae's case.

I'm totally on board with this. Should be fun.

Background:

The daughter of a prostitute , Liandra's life was not overly unpleasant until age 12. Apparently, her mother's handler had ideas about putting the child to work early, something her mother vehemently opposed.

Perhaps too vehemently given his temper. Young Liandra walked in on the last vestiges of life being squeezed from her mother's neck. Still in a rage the pimp turned on her beating her savagely and leaving her for dead on a garbage heap.

She didn't die. She learned to survive the hard way. Be faster, better and smarter than anyone else. Trust no one, never turn your back. Soon she began to thrive in the darkened world of violence that lay beneath the surface of the city.

Her skill brought her to the attention of numerous criminal figures, and her speed and stealth made her a perfect courier for illicit goods. In fact her record has only one failure...a trip through the most crime infested region of the city that left her with several new scars, and happy to escape with her life. It was during that attack that she met Hagen, a grizzled former Andoran Knight who chose not to turn a blind eye to the girl bleeding in an alley. He took her home and helped her to recover, asking nothing in return.

Hagen had, upon his retirement been secretly assigned to assemble a network of skilled individuals that functioned as the city’s ears and eyes, and Liandra fit right in.

Her change of side has earned her enemies in the crime world. Perhaps understandably, she has a soft spot for the women who work the night, and an intense dislike for those who would mistreat or abuse them.

As her record as both an investigator and an agent continued to build, Hagen recommended her to the military, knowing that there was a substantial need for skills such as hers, especially when dealing fith outlying areas or the lawless sectors of the cities. Her focus and hard work has caused her superiors to take notice, an interesting shift in the career path of a young woman who could have easily been another corpse in a back alley.

Appearance:

Liandra

Tall, athletic, darkly beautiful and just a little bit scary. This is how people describe Liandra....as long as she's out of earshot. Her dark hair usually covers her face obscuring eerily stange eyes combining the elven alienness with almost crystalline grey human eyes.

Usually dressed in form fitting black leather armor that leaves her shoulders and arms bare, a black bladed short sword on her hip, kukhri in the small of her back, and knives both visible and hidden on her person, her almost unnatural prediliction for blades is disturbingly evident.

When this girl enters a room it feels as if the night itself has answered a summons, that is, unless she chooses not to be noticed.

"We all know there's a trap wiating for us down the tunnel, how about we just get on with it and get it done?"

Female Half-Elf Rogue 3/ Urban Ranger 2
